Nice old cabin with lots of charm! The decor is as you would expect for an older cabin but we don’t care about that. Has a dock for the boat and easy passage from cabin to dock.
The owner was charming and helpful.
After staying in a different cabin on this property six years ago (Camp Adelle), we were slightly disappointed that we could barely see the lake from the cabin this time (Camp Victor). The dock was a bit of a walk downhill and away from the cabin, and our kids couldn't go wading in the water there (it had lots of deep muck that was hard even for adults to walk through). They had fun fishing there, and I think it would've been fine for boating. The cabin itself was nice, so it's just important to read the descriptions and realize that the experience might be very different from one to the next. Marjorie was a very friendly, helpful host. Our boys also loved playing with Piper the dog!

Yes, camp Adelle is so close to the water you can hop out the door into the lake! This cabin, camp Victor, is woodsy, and private, so the dock is about twenty steps away as opposed to two! The lakefront in the Adks is typically mucky, not like a Sandy beach. Thanks for coming!
Generally it was as I expected. The cabin size was as listed. The lighting inside was not as bright as I would have liked, as we were inside lot. Unfortunately the weather was not good so we did not spend any time outside, nor did we use the outside grill.
Both experiences would have added to our time there. I did discuss with Marjorie the difficulty we had in reading the temperatures on the oven dial (they are worn off). Also there was some dispute (!) not knowing if the stove flue was open or closed. Something to indicate this would have helped.

As we discussed, I agree, as we get older our eyesight isn’t what it used to be!
Sorry it rained during your stay preventing your outdoor activities.
The Woodstove has a universal chimney flue, they all operate the same way! Glad that someone in your group was familiar with Woodstove operations. We are always available for tutorials!!
We had a great time at Camp Victor. We really didn’t do a lot and it was wonderful. It was so lovely to just sit by the water and read. Next time we will be bringing our kayaks! And our dog had a great time, too, and enjoyed a lot of off-leash time around the cabin.
great get away tucked into the adirondack lakes and mountains off season great hiking and nature walks saw an eagle and was visited by a beaver beautiful spot
We had a wonderful time visiting with our daughter who is attending Paul Smith’s College. The cabin was very clean and cozy. We loved the rustic feel. It was a great experience.
This is a stunning and peaceful place just a short drive from downtown Saranac, great hikes, the locks to Lower Saranac and more if you have a boat. The only new experience was having to mop and excess clean after our stay. Overall, it was wonderful.
We really enjoyed our week in Camp Victor. Everything was as advertised - Marjorie is an excellent host. A great place to unplug and decompress, I would highly recommend if you are looking for an Adirondack cabin experience.
