Terrible host and property - but beautiful area
The house was not in a fit state to be hosted. The host was a terrible communicator. We were due to check in at 4pm - the house was not cleaned and ready until 10:30pm at night and we had 4 children under the age of 7. The front door handle fell off and we were locked in the house. We asked for it to be repaired, it was not, so the only security we had, with children sleeping downstairs, was a thin wooden slatted door meant for day. One of the lights in the bedroom would not turn off one night. We had to take the frontage off and remove a hot bulb which exploded in my hand.The downstairs bedroom had wardrobes in that had clearly been there for many years and stank of damp -far more than could be described as usual for being close to the sea. The host was unhelpful, she way overcharged for the calibre of the property, we negotiated and agreed that she would return 200 Euro to us, which wasn't even one night's cost during a 10 night stay, and she has still not paid it, we assume we will never get it back. She told us we were overreacting when the front door handle fell off, she complained that we were checking out at 8:30am because she had to drive a long way to collect the keys from us. All in all, unbelievably bad hosting that we have never come across in many years of renting properties. The area however, is beautiful, peaceful and picturesque, with a wonderful section of sea, beach bars and restaurants. I would highly recommend the area but please, do not use this property!
