Villa, 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 10 people
- english, french, spanish
Originally a husband-wife team that left Madrid for Spain’s deep south and a change of virtually everything, we came up with the idea of DosXtremos in 2006, the catalyst being the need to increase the number of people renting our own properties, one in La Coruña and the other in Cadiz, Atlantic Spains two wonderful extremes. And since then, even though the business has grown (we now manage a number of properties for other owners), our goal has always been the same: to try and tell other people about these two wonderful and relatively undeveloped areas of Spain that have brought us so much happiness! For this reason, the website has a heavy focus on regional information and includes details on the activities that we enjoy, both individually and as a family with young children. All our houses are in the provinces of La Coruña and Cadiz, although there is a significant bias towards Cadiz, because that is where we live. Each house has been chosen because it has something special to offer, and we have tried to ensure that the mix meets a variety of tastes and requirements. In the case of the Cadiz properties, we live close by, meaning we are on-hand for problem solving and making recommendations. You may prefer to lounge by the pool (all our pools are extremely tempting!), but if you do want to explore, we have suggestions to fill a lot more than two weeks! As for La Corua, we personally are a long way away, but the properties are well looked after and our list of recommendations is even longer (to offset the less predictable weather!) In addition, we have a close and productive working relationship with all our owners, and we believe this shows in the way our properties are maintained. Those two extremes: Cadiz & La Coruña are quite different, but equally fabulous; and we are able and eager to tell you all sorts of things about both. It is a simple recipe: the better the information we give you, the more likely you are to have a good time...and therefore to return!
Why DosXtremos chose Conil de la Frontera
Perfect location, spacious, high quality and confort.
Just perfect fo us!
We stayed at El Alarife for a week in June. We were two families with altogether 5 kids (from 5 to 14 year olds). The house was bigger than we anticipated based on the pictures. The "wing for teenagers" worked well for us: they got their privacy and were able to sleep late etc. The pool is not extremely big but was enough for us. The sea is very near: great view from the balcony (to which you got to walk straight from the two big bedrooms) and we could hear the waves when sitting outside in the evenings. The beach was lovely, long and clean and not too crowded (in June). During morning walks / runs you could see people walking their dogs and even horse riders on the beach. The nearest restaurant, El Timon de Roche, was nice, a bit pricy, but good quality. There were nice restaurants on the beach also, not in walking distance for us (i.e. not for a 5 year old), but easy to reach with a car. We enjoyed our holiday at El Alarife. Thank you Andrew and Maria!
I am glad the two families had such a good time and that El Alarife worked well for all the ages! Of course, we look forward to welcoming you back soon!
If anyone reading this wonders how big the pool actually is, it is 10m x 3m.
This is a gorgeous house in a perfect location - so beautifully designed that even though the weather was stormy we still had a wonderful time. Andrew could not have been more helpful and prompt when we did have a issue that needed dealing with.
We all want to return!
A great holiday had by all!
We were two families totalling 8 sharing the house. The layout of the house meant we didn't feel enclosed or under each other's feet. The house was ideal for our needs. The beach was only 150m away and was beautiful. Even though it was the height of summer, the beaches weren't crowded. Weather was fantastic and lots to do in the vicinity. Wanted to say it was horrible just so others wouldn't go to this area! So keep it a secret.
Great Villa with perfect location
Our party of four adults and five kids at the age between 8 - 13 loved our stay at Villa El Alarife. Perfect house for two family with kids. The location right next to the beach was really nice. Lovely restaurants and other services nearby provied us with a really relaxing holiday. We warmly recommend this place.
Absolutamente expectacular, sitio privilegiado.
Great Villa - exceeded expectations
Fantastic villa - even nicer than the photographs. Well thought out with unique design and layout. The middle terrace is the perfect gin o'clock spot for watching the sun go down over the Atlantic.
Super location - 100m to the beach steps and close but not too close to the other village amenities
Spotlessly clean ( and we're fussy).
Andrew is a charming and efficient host - dealing quickly with our extra requirements and offering great advice and local knowledge
Easy drive to Jerez (sherry houses), Cádiz (possibly Europe's oldest city), Tarifa (and the boat to Tanger), the wonders of Seville, and the intriguing pueblos blancos (white villages), including Vejer-de-la-Frontera. This is the Spain of fighting bulls and flamenco, ferias and finos, and fine simple food. Visit the Roman ruins at Baelo Claudio, the lighthouse at Cape Trafalgar, the old tuna fishing port of Sancti Petri. 30% of the province of Cádiz is National Park, and here you will find green rolling hills, more akin to Ireland or Wales but divided by giant cactus hedges, one of the world's most important cork forests, and a micro climate within the Alcornocales park that is regarded as the last Mediterranean jungle.
Easy walk to the chemist, newspaper, hot bread, mini market, and bar; also to the playground, tennis, and 5-aside soccer. 20-minute walk down beach to fine restaurants and a heavenly spa! Yet at night all you will hear are the waves, nightingales, and owls!
Other Activities: whale watching, bird watching, kite surfing, kayaking, ballooning,
