About this property
Pet and family friendly house in Crantock, near the beach and village centre
This family and pet friendly property sleeps 5 people in 3 bedrooms. (For guests with pets please note the house rules)
It is a lovely, modern, homely house, situated in a peaceful location in the village of Crantock. In a perfect position, set back from the road, guests can be reassured of a tranquil get away without even a car passing the window.
Crantock is a beautiful coastal village with lots to see and do within easy walking distance of the property, including the beautiful river Gannel and foot paths, the National Trust Beach (dog friendly) and coastal paths, a 400 year old thatched pub, the village store/post office, Cubert Common and a quaint village tea room.
This tastefully decorated property provides plenty of space – the separate living room is bright and airy with a bay window and two comfy sofas. The sunny kitchen/dining room is well equipped with all you need for your holiday, including a microwave, slow cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, oven and hob, washing machine and plenty of cooking essentials.
The kitchen/dining area leads out to the enclosed south facing patio which is equipped with 4 sun chairs/loungers – perfect for soaking up the sun in the peace and comfort of home! It is also a great safe space for children and toddlers (and pets!) to play freely, as it is fully enclosed and fully visible from the kitchen/dining room. A coal BBQ is supplied to help you enjoy the long summer Cornish evenings.
There is also a wood burner - perfect for guests staying in the winter months to enjoy some cosy evenings in after a day of walking the coastal paths or sightseeing. There is also a TV with free-view, and BT sports. There is also unlimited Wifi, books, and board games.
Upstairs there is a master bedroom with lovely views over the countryside and Cubert Common, a double bed (with king size duvet) and wardrobe. There is also a twin bedroom with two single beds and a chest of drawers and a third single bedroom also with chest of drawers. There is a modern family bathroom with bath, over-bath high pressure power shower, WC and wash basin.
One well behaved pet is very welcome to stay, (no extra charge) however we kindly request that dogs are not left unattended in the property, whilst guests are out. A crate is provided (suitable for a dog up to 10Kg) if you do need to leave your dog unattended. Dogs are not permitted upstairs or on the sofa, beds or other furniture. All dog mess needs to be cleaned up by guests.
Guests staying in the cooler months can rest assured they will be warm and cosy as in addition to the log burner downstairs, all bedrooms have guest controlled electric radiators and the bathroom has a heater.
For laundry there is a washing machine, airer and clothes line, iron and ironing board.
There is plenty of parking on the road just 200ft away from the property.
Our Changeover day is on a Satruday. Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 10am.

About the host
Hosted by Maureen James

We are Phil and Maureen James. We live in a Bedfordshire village but come to Crantock with our Jack Russell Cross, Gilbert, whenever possible. Phil's family originates from Cornwall and he spent all his childhood holidays playing with his cousins on the beach and surrounding countryside of Crantock. If you go into St Carantoc's church, you will see his father's name on the list of lads from the village that went off to the Second World War. He joined the Navy and it was on leave that he met Phil's mother, Mary, who had enlisted with the land army and had been posted from London to the farm at West Pentire which is now the site of the Bowgie. We often sit in the Bowgie and raise a glass to their memory. We feel very privileged to own a little part of Crantock and have put a lot of love and care into our home. We do hope you will enjoy it and make your own happy memories of Crantock
Why they chose this property
We love this property as it offers a peaceful and tranquil get away from it all, yet is in a great location for strolling down to the village centre or nipping to the beach with our dog Gilbert. We feel the property is comfortable with a lovely homely vibe.
Crantock is a very unique Cornish Village with so much to offer, it is diverse and varied and has a strong presence of local activities including the Bale Pushing Competition in September which raises large sums of money for local charities. In addition to the village life, the scenery in Crantock is absolutely stunning.
