About the host

Host profile image
Vivienne and Andy have lived in the bungalow adjacent to this property for the last 22 years and run a small home and garden antiques business from here known as Tinhouse Antiques.

Why they chose this property

Our house and this property are set in a wonderful rural location with easy access to the town and the countryside. It is an ideal base location for seeing Somerset.

What makes this property unique

The Garden Room is a slightly unusual property in a lovely location. Constructed by a local timber frame craftsman approximately 18 years ago, it is located on our 2 acre property and is separate from our house, which is a timber clad wooden bungalow with a corrugated iron roof. This was built in 1920 to provide a smallholding for soldiers returning from the 1st World War. The idea being to regenerate the agricultural industry after the Great War, along the lines of the 'Homes for Heroes' scheme. It is almost the last one remaining on South Hill which originally had a number of these. Sadly most have now been demolished and replaced with modern homes.
