We visited as 4 families with children staying in the farmhouse and gite. This was a great place for the kids to play outside and they loved the pool. It’s a typically quiet rural French setting which suited us perfectly and was great for socialising at the property. Owners were really useful in providing info and always quick with any correspondence. Overall a great place to stay.

Many thanks Glenn. Delighted you had such a lovely time and enjoyed the farmhouse, gite and all that Brittany has to offer. Welcome back anytime!
The accommodation was exactly as stated - very rural which is what we were after. Ideal for two families with the farmhouse and gite being seperate. It was well equipped with all the amenities you would expect along with the addition of a games room and pool which were a hit with the children.

We really enjoyed a week in the Farmhouse. Located in the peaceful French countryside, very relaxing
We had a lovely stay in the Farmhouse. 3 families in all, 2 in the Farmhouse, 1 in the gite. Both houses were well equipped and comfortable. The games room was a big hit with the kids and we all enjoyed the outside spaces and pool. The pool is deep enough for adults to enjoy so pack the armbands for the little ones if they need them!
There's lots to do in the area and a trip to the nearby Lac du Guerlèdan is a really enjoyable day out. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Delighted you enjoyed your time at Burlaouen and loved the area Deidre! Glad you loved the stunning Lac de Guerledan nearby too - it's great - so many activities for all ages. Welcome back anytime
A lovely rural location with a large garden. So quiet and no light pollution at all ! The grandchildren loved the pool and spent most of the week in it. The house and cottage are both well equipped with plenty of showers and baths. There are good markets and some lovely lakes in the area but all do require a drive to get to them. Sadly the boulangerie in the village is closed so we had frequent trips in the car to the ( excellent )supermarket in St. Nicolas .

So glad you all had a lovely time and could fully relax and make use of the pool. Now that the boulangerie has closed bread and pastries are available daily instead from the village store - do agree however, the local supermarkets are superb! Hope you all feel fully recharged. Welcome back anytime :)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse and gite. The house is perfect for families. Our children aged between 8-14 made use of the pool and the games room while the adults were able to relax in a peaceful space with all we needed at our disposal. The local supermarket (15 mins drive) kept us stocked up and we spent our days enjoying the lake, canals and beautiful beaches that are all within an hour’s drive. Rachel was always on hand to respond to any enquiries and also provided a comprehensive guide to help us make the most of the local area. We would definitely recommend this accommodation for a trip to France. Many thanks!

Hi Catherine,
Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. We are delighted that you and your family enjoyed your holiday at Burlaouen and were able to make the most of all the facilities and all that the area has to offer - there really is so much to see and do. Welcome back anytime :) Best wishes Rachel
We loved the house and thoroughly appreciated the warm welcome from Rachel. Directions were clear too. Lots of space for our party of ten and it was well appointed too. As we were lucky enough to be there in the middle of a heat wave we made excellent use of the pool too.
Our one issue was with lack of outdoor furniture. We ate all our meals out-of-doors so we were constantly moving chairs in and out of the house and trying to crowd around the small table. The somewhat aging bench and wooden table did not appeal as we are all of mature years. A few extra loungers would have been useful too. Given that this issue is addressed we would undoubtedly give this venue a five star rating.

Many thanks for the feedback Anne - so glad you had an excellent time.
Whilst previous guests haven't mentioned any issues regarding outdoor furniture, we totally take this on board and will look to rectify as soon as possible for future larger parties. Rachel & Martin

Passionate about France having studies French many moons ago!
Finally decided to buy our own little hide-away in rural Brittany as it was easy to get to and a great central location to share with others.
Adore French food and wine. Love experiencing the traditional laid back way of everyday French life with all it has to offer including visiting the local markets and sitting in cafes watching the world go by.
Brittany has always appealed -- maybe something to do with our Celtic roots?! - there's so much to do - relaxing on beaches, walking the dramatic coastline, cycling along the canals, fishing, horse riding, exploring the historic towns and discovering wonderful bars and restaurants.
