Vila de Baixo is the name of this fabulous Chalet in Arrifana Beach.

Arrifana Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the municipality of Aljezur. It is located in the Algarve, southwest of Portugal and in the Costa Vicentina Natural Park.

This Chalet has been for many years, and remains, our family's favorite vacation spot.

For us, the present keeps alive the extraordinary moments we live here as a family and it was with the future generations in mind that we decided to make a major refurbishment (completed in June 2016) that allowed the Chalet to have exceptional amenities.

Once a small beach house with no water, no electricity, and poor conditions, it has seen generations of fishermen, surfers, poets, and sailors grow.

It is these generations that continue to maintain the soul and original essence of Vila de Baixo:

- the friendship!

Our special neighbors... 🐗🌿

Staying at our accommodation means living in perfect harmony with nature in the Natural Park! Because we are located in such a pure environment, it is very common to be visited by the local wildlife. Recently, a few small Vietnamese wild boars have been spotted around here, especially at dusk and during the night.

Important note for your arrival: ⚠️ They have a regular crossing point near our neighbor's house (which is located about 50 meters before reaching our property). Please stay alert when passing by, especially if you are arriving after dark! When walking at night, carry a flashlight and speak loudly without making sudden movements.

They are just looking for food, are completely peaceful, are not predators, and usually avoid humans. However, to ensure a 100% safe stay, we kindly ask you to follow these simple rules:

• Take care of your trash: 🗑️ Keep trash bags tightly closed and never leave any food scraps outdoors.

• Respect their space: 🛑 If you spot a wild boar, keep your distance, do not try to get closer, and never feed them. Always make sure the animals have a clear escape route so they do not feel cornered.

• Watch out for the piglets: 🐾 If you see baby wild boars, remember that the mother will be nearby to protect them. Walk away calmly.

As noted by local updates, regional and governmental authorities—including the Aljezur Town Hall (Câmara Municipal de Aljezur) and the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF)—are fully aware of the situation. They are currently working together to find a solution to manage the impacts these animals have on agriculture, road safety, and regional biodiversity.
