Beautiful place nears some nice towns! Jéröme greeted us warmly and showed us around at our arrival. We enjoyed the trails and the castle. Highly recommended!
Lovely warm cosy atmosphere. Stunning parkland and lake. Fairy tale castle in a beautiful setting. Superbly equipped and very well heated during freezing conditions.
We had an unbelievably wonderful time at the Chateau de Buffalo. It is truly an experience that cannot be compared with any other holiday. Incredibly beautiful chateau, super beautiful landscapes and the caretaker is also super friendly ten out of ten and highly recommended.
The house is magnificent. Jerome made us feel like it was our home and nothing was too much trouble.the grounds, house and lake are exceptional. Our hope is to return next year as 3 generations had a wonderful time. Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday.
We were so impressed by the property. The pictures are accurate. We had such a wonderful stay. The caretaker, Jerome, was amazing. The grounds were so beautiful and the house incredible. We will definitely stay again!!
Excellent all round, from first contact to departure. Chateau surroundings offered many opportunities for walks, games and wildlife spotting. Highly recommended.
After the bustle of Paris it was great to relax here in the countryside. Jerome was very accommodating. One bit of advice - if you are going to take the short hike to La Saucelle via the back trail, first find out how to get through the fence gate.
I was in La Saucelle with my extended family (14 pers) and we had a wonderul time in a peaceful environment inside and outside the castle. I can highly recommend the castle to any future guests.

Was a great 4 days. Beautiful location. Little remote if planning to spend a lot of time in Paris, though the train system is great. Plan to make a trip to the market to pick up essentials, food, drinks, cooking spices, paper products, etc. Plenty of dishes, (wonderful), would have liked to have more towels. All in all, recommend!
Amazing place well kept with lots of space and well kept with thoughtful touches such as a games cupboard and table tennis table Children loved the fantastic grounds and spotting the wildlife. Chairs could be a little more comfortable but very stylish. Spiral staircase superb but could be a problem for some. Jerome very welcoming and friendly. A great stay and would strongly recommend
This property is exactly what you would expect if you feel you are royalty! The communication with the owners is excellent if you speak any language! The grounds keeper Jerome was wonderful and knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. The landscaping is absolutely beautiful. We were even able to see some deer. This palace is an absolute dream. Thank you for making our family feel special and welcomed. Kind regards...Jorge
We very much enjoyed our stay at the château. The home and surroundings were just what we needed after making our daytrips into Paris and other surrounding areas. The caretaker, Jerome, was very helpful and the owners were very responsive to questions and requests. The home has everything you need to make your stay a memorable one. Our only recommendation would be to have the Teflon pots & pans replaced with stainless or cast iron, as they are quite scratched. But that was such a small thing compared to everything else that was fantastic. We would and have recommended staying here to other friends and family.
This is such a beautiful unique property I can not say enough about how special it is. The property manager Jerome was so kind and helpful, extremely patient with our horrible french. He suggested local attractions and basically made sure we had an amazing stay. The Chateau itself was amazing, so many bedrooms and most of the bathrooms are newly renovated, the ping pong table in the basement helped pass a rainy afternoon. We did lots of hiking on the property grounds seeing foxes, deer and lots of rabbits. I fully intend to stay here again the next time we visit France, hopefully we will speak the language better by then! Thank you Jerome and Luc for sharing this property!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chateau de Buffalo. The house served our needs perfectly. She's an old girl but has so much charm. For our big family everyone had their own space plus plenty of room to move around. The outdoor area is picture perfect. We dined outside several times, and you felt like you were in a scene from a movie. The caretaker, Jerome and his wife Marine, were so helpful and responded very quickly to all our needs.
The location is very remote, and you will have to travel at least 15 minutes to get to a store or restaurant or train station, but it was always so great to head back to the chateau.
I would recommend this house. Our family felt like it was one of the highlights of our trip.
When we booked this place we spent months excited about it and talking about how cool it would be. And then we got there and it lived up to all of our hopes and more! We stayed for a month and never got tired of the amazing view from the castle to the grounds and from the grounds to the castle. We spent hours hiking in the woods and playing kickball on the main lawn. The kitchen is huge and had everything we needed. Jerome was a dream and arranged for his wife to cook us two french meals, which we absolutely loved. The castle is pretty isolated, but we didn't mind that. And the grocery store we liked was only 15 or so minutes away. There were a lot of bugs in the castle, but they didn't bother us, and we've come to expect that when we stay in rural settings. My husband and our four kids absolutely loved it here and would HIGHLY recommend it!
We had a lovely week's holiday in this property despite poor weather - it is exactly as photographed. We all loved the table tennis in the basement, the g/kids also enjoyed playing hide and seek in such a quirky property. The dishwasher was a bonus and as there is a washing machine and tumble dryer, I even went home with clean clothes.
We saw deer and a boar at the feeder near the lake.
Unfortunately, sat nav took us to the wrong place - make sure you go to La Framboisiere not Saucelle. The property is on the N25 between Verneuil-sur-Avre and La Framboisiere - google maps is accurate!
We all took the train from La Loupe to Paris for the day and had a great day - rhe g/kids were delighted to see the eiffel tower. Some of the family also did a day trip to disneyland.
Verneuil-sur-avre is definitely worth a visit - had a lovely meal there too. Bakery in Senonches recommended by Jerome was excellent and the Friday market was worth a visit too.
Our multi generational family group, ranging from 5 to 85 years old, descended on Chateau Buffalo this summer.
We were blown away by the chateau and grounds, and loved exploring the house, and walking and cycling around our private forest and lake. We spotted kites, deer, frogs and toads! (Beware the wild boar, but we didn't see any.)
The space in the chateau is perfect for large group activities, and we enjoyed lots of party games in the lounge. There was also good WiFi throughout the house.
Our weather was mixed but on sunny days the immense lawn was perfect for frisbee, badminton, volleyball and football. When it was rainy, table tennis in the cellar was a good option.
There are several good sized supermarkets 10-15 minutes away by car, and a selection of restaurants within the same range.
We had a lovely time here and were well looked after by the on-site caretaker Jerome. Being just a 2 hour drive from Dieppe makes this property very accessible from the UK.
A réserver à nouveau !
