Thank you once again Brucie & Gary! We were thrilled to have you stay with us again. We are so happy to know both stays have been comfortable and peaceful. We look forward to your return! Happy Holidays!
While it was a pleasure to meet Patricia it is unfortunate that she did not abide by the house/dog rules. We made an exception for her to bring her 2 dogs that she claimed “slept the majority of the day”. Not the case, in fact they barked continuously at any and everything. Our pet addendum specifically stated the dogs were to be on a hand held leash whenever they were outside, she failed to abide and let them run loose. The dogs scared our housekeeper as they ran up to her barking non stop, they ran to the front door of another studio that had a guest and barked non stop at her door. We left poop bags in Patricia’s unit so she could clean after her dogs, she failed to do that. The dogs were not to be left alone for any undue amount of time which they were and barked continuously. I had to bring this to her attention. We had to also think about other guests who are on vacation and not have to deal with dogs who clearly were out of control and the dog owner who was inconsiderate of what she agreed to. We have a few simple check out procedures one of which is please don’t leave dirty dishes in the sink. Our housekeeper found a kitchen that had a sink full of dirty dishes. We have had several other long term guests and they have all enjoyed their stay. It’s too bad this didn’t work out as we had hoped.

Very nice and well cared for condo. Love the country setting minutes from downtown.
From the moment we arrived we felt welcome. The condo was clean and everything was available that we needed to spend our 14 days there. Our hosts were responsive and whenever we needed something they were quick to reply. What we especially liked was that it was out in the country but 6 minutes to downtown. One of our favorite things to do was to come back in the afternoon and sit on the porch outside having a beer and talking over our day. We were greeted with a bowl full of fruits and goodies, which later were added to by occasional gifts of vegetables from our hosts vegetable garden. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean and full of light. We would definitely stay there again. For anyone who needs a good basic, clean, and cheerful space, with a good heater and air- conditioner, when needed, and a efficient kitchen for meals, this is it. We even had a fire one night when it cooled down. Hosts are occasionally on the property but are very discrete and only come by if you ask them for more supplies or if you have questions. For the price a win, win.

Ideal serene quiet hideaway in Santa Fe
I have stayed in many short term rentals, several in Santa Fe, and this was one of the most pleasant. My husband and I stayed here for about a week in August. It is in a quiet country setting, yet very close to town. The best organic food store of Santa Fe is a few minutes drive, or a bike ride away. The rental is a place unto itself with access to outdoor seating and garden areas, a deck, private parking, and has everything one could want in a home. The bathroom has a tub, storage space, and more. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen more than met our needs. The living room is large and has a fireplace. The owners were extremely welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. When we asked to extend our stay (twice) and then to check out late, they were accommodating. What most drew me was that the property provided us with a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of wonderful Santa Fe. It was a pleasure to come "home" at night and completely relax. I have no complaints about this property, and it is where we will return when we next visit Santa Fe...if there is availability. A gem of a place.

Thank you Brucie! It was a pleasure having you stay at Cuarto de Gallegos! We are pleased you felt a sense of "home" and were able to relax during your stay. We look forward to your return.
Both my husband and I were born and raised here in New Mexico. We are in our mid 80's with 2 married children. We have 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. We love to travel and have been blessed to see many beautiful parts of the world. There is still no place lovelier than Santa Fe and we hope to share our love of Santa Fe and its surrounding area with our guests.
Why they chose this property
Growing up in northern New Mexico we are accustomed to haciendas (several dwellings under one roof) where families lived near each other. The hacienda is set up with four separate units under one roof. Cuarto de Martinez is the one bedroom apartment unit. The surroundings are peaceful and quiet. A great place if you want to just relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life!
What makes this property unique
The views from the property of all the surrounding mountains are superb! Spectacular sunrises over the Sangre de Cristo mountains to colorful sunsets over the Jemez Mountains. Just outside the city limits but close enough to drive to either the Santa Fe Plaza, Santa Fe Opera, Santa Fe Ski area and easy access to Albuquerque.
