Monumental Dutch house in old center on harbor. Unique and luxurious location!

Staying in "The Tower House". A former 17th century monumental warehouse, in the middle of the historic, old center of Medemblik, near the old harbor. The entire house (130 m2, 4 floors) is entirely at your disposal. 100% privacy! 2x Master bedrooms, bath, freestanding shower, free WIFI internet, cable TV and a well-equipped kitchen. 100% comfort. Within walking distance: The ports, canal, IJsselmeer, (water) sports, monuments, restaurants, walking and shopping area, nature and culture. Amsterdam is easily accessible by car within 35 minutes.

The kitchen diner
The kitchen is equipped with many "extras"; oven, microwave, dishwasher, wok burner, professional coffee / espresso machine with fresh beans (an absolute must have :-)), fridge, freezer, etc in addition to all 'normal' kitchen utensils. You can prepare and serve a multi-course dinner for the whole family in the kitchen without any problems.

The living room
The living room radiates the atmosphere of the 17th century (characteristic stairwell, chandeliers and high beamed ceiling), but with the 20th century comfort (HD cable TV, WIFI, a gas fireplace, of course the entire building has central heating). Here is a comfortable seating area (good couch and 2 easy chairs). The original shared (split) front door gives access to your private sidewalk on the street side overlooking the harbor. The sidewalk is also your terrace.

The 2 bedrooms
Both bedrooms are both equipped as "master bedrooms", have double beds and enough hanging and laying space for your clothes. If desired, you can slide the beds (box spring mattresses) apart in one of the bedrooms.

The 2 Toilets and Bathroom
The bathroom has a spacious bathtub and also a freestanding shower. The toilet is located separately next to the bathroom. Of course there is also a 2nd toilet on the first floor.

The storage room
Finally, you also have access to an indoor storage room where you can store your bike, board, kite or other items safely and warmly.

Access for guests
The entire Torenhuis has been specially designed to make it as comfortable as possible for you, you can use all areas and all things. All rooms are at your disposal and for nobody else. You can use bed linen, towels and kitchen linen for free. Also use coffee, tea and everything you can find in the kitchen cabinets and drawers

Interaction with guests
You will be personally received by us, gladly show you around the former warehouse and of course we will resolve all inconveniences immediately. The entire house is at your disposal, there are no other guests, absolute privacy!

We do not live in the city ourselves, but in a small village nearby. We would like to know what time you expect to arrive, so that we can personally hand over the key to you at the house. Are you strongly leaving or arriving in the middle of the night? No problem!! You will then receive the code from the key box, so that you can always enter the house.

The neighbourhood
The Torenhuis is located in the middle of the historic center of Medemblik, and yet in absolute tranquility. The (Wester) harbor literally around the corner, the best bakery in the area around the other corner and a view of the only open canal in Medemblik. Enough shopping options, hiking options, good and tasty restaurants, catering, water sports !!, historic buildings etc. In the house you will find information about the area "our 33 hotspots of North Holland according to Julia & Marius".

Medemblik is the oldest city in West Friesland. With the Regatta Center, the city has a water sport center with international allure where national and international sailing competitions are organized.

Historical and modern
In the center you will find modern and historic brotherly side by side. Beautiful yachts and historic ships from the brown fleet moor in the modern harbors of the historic city center. Sitting on one of the terraces you can watch a drink from behind the bustle of the water.

Museums and castle
The city has many museums; Castle Radboud, dating from the end of the 13th century, stands in a prominent place. The most delicious delicacies are baked in the traditional way at the Bakery Museum and at the Steam Room you can learn everything about the development of the steam engine. Medemblik is also the stopping place for the Hoorn-Medemblik steam tram.

The peace seeker gets on a bike with the VVV cycle route in hand and makes a trip over dikes, through old ribbon villages and past bell-farm farms. From the back of the dike you look out over the endless IJsselmeer.

Amsterdam
Amsterdam can be reached within 35 minutes by car. Public transport (train, bus, boat) via Hoorn (approx. 10 minutes). Other interesting cities such as Volendam, Marken and interesting "Cheese cities" Edam and Alkmaar at a shorter distance. Enkhuizen and Hoorn even within 10 minutes away.

Transport
Free parking at home on the public road. Public transportation by bus. NS train station Hoorn within 15 minutes. Amsterdam 35 minutes away.

Other things to look out for
The tower house is an incredibly nice house. You feel the character of the house. It is a monumental renovated warehouse. It is a prime location and has a luxurious entourage. Unfortunately it is less suitable for the disabled or small children given the multiple floors and stairs without safety stair gates. For the same reason, the Torenhuis is not suitable for the disabled.
