We had a lovely stay here in June. Perfect for a family. Great deck and grill. The location is perfect for strolls to town, park, etc. Keith was super responsive with any questions too.
This house is in the perfect Spring Lake location and has wonderful space (both indoor and outdoor). The owner was wonderful and easy to work with. We highly recommend this property!
The owner was very responsive. Had great family dinners both inside and out. Walk to beach the kids loved the baby pool and beach Z recommend this site.
Excellent experience all around. Really appreciate the outdoor shower for the kids after beach days, the large dining table for family dinners, and the new smart TV!

Thank you! We love the outdoor shower for our 12 year old and dogs...It is on the list to rebuilt this Fall. Great having you.
Great communication with host; Keith was very responsive and helpful. Host is in a fantastic location and the beach passes and locker made the holiday even better.
My family and I stayed at this property the prior Thanksgiving as well. The house is very accommodating and well supplied. The owner responded quickly to my messages and gave thorough information. The neighborhood is in a beautiful beach area. Good memories made here!
Great kick-off to the summer of 2022! Easy walk to beach and 3rd Ave. Tons of living space inside and outside to hang out. Owner very responsive and helpful! Would stay here again for sure!

Thank you. Happy you enjoyed the shore. I have yet to figure out how to predetermine weather…..
My family, three kids between 8-5, stayed here over July 4th and again recently for Thanksgiving. Great location, plenty of room, bedrooms all were good sized, top floor 3rd good for kids, nice outdoor deck sitting area even in November, fun bikes to cruise around neighborhood, will be back again next summer.
Our family was a fantastic time at this AWESOME property. It was extremely clean with all the amenities you will ever need! The location isn't far from the beach and having pool/beach passes allowed for us to immensely enjoy both!
Keith was a fantastic landlord before, during and after our stay. If would get back with us immediately and provided us information and recommendations that enhanced our stay!
I highly recommend this property, a great place for the family to enjoy the shore!

A bit musty
The house suited our needs and the location was fine. Just found the house to have a very musty odor . Due to torrential rains, we were unable to keep windows open to help.
Home was ok but I found it to be quite old and not updated at all
The house was just fine. Definitely had all of the conveniences but a smidge shabby and in need of a clean and then a deep clean. Great location! Beach and pool passes and beach locker a HUGE PLUS! No working umbrellas. LOVE Spring Lake. Owner responsive. AC super. Bathrooms tight; one full upstairs with bedrooms, second full downstairs. Everything worked well. Overall it worked for the week.
I grew up in Spring Lake and wanted my children and grandchildren to experience a vacation home in Spring Lake. Keith’s home was perfect for my family. The deck outside was lovely. The wide open floor plan and master bedroom was awesome. We had a minor incident the first day we got there and Keith was on top of it right away! He even sent us wine, cheese, and crackers to apologize when the problem was already solved! The location of the house is perfect and five beach badges for the pool too were phenomenal. The house is old and does need a few fixes but otherwise perfect. We enjoyed the house so much that we will be making this an annual trip and will return next July to this address. Thanks.Keith!!

Thank you very much for the review. I was sorry about the issue on Saturday and felt so bad that I could not be there to solve it, since I live in VT. I just want my clients to have a relaxing time at the shore. Hope you enjoyed the basket.
I will say the home is not nearly as bad as some of the other reviews! However it is an older home, but has charm to it. It’s nothing extravagant but decently priced for its location. Could use some updates for sure and new carpets but we enjoyed the stay and the home regardless.
We did arrive to full load of dirty dishes in dishwasher. Communication could have been better by the host. Definitely no warm fuzzies or any touch base email upon our check in date. I had to reach out to him for the door codes etc and asked if I needed to know anything more than what was in listing.
If you are staying here be sure to bring paper products, tissues, TP and paper towels as well as hand soaps for bathrooms. That is not in the listing.
There is a train on the block, so you do hear it throughout the night.
Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and glasses. Porch was lovely, we enjoyed wine and music out there the first night. Quiet neighborhood.

Run down house with questionable cleanliness
So, we booked this last minute because we had a funeral to attend and didn’t have a lot of time to plan in advance. Our biggest concern was proximity to the train, but that ended up being a non-issue. There were, however, many other issues that made our stay tolerable for three days, but not enjoyable. Totally agree with the one reviewer who commented on how run down this property is. As a former VRBO owner, the condition of the property was shocking to me, especially in a high-end location like Spring lake. Given the condition of the property and the level of cleanliness, I simply don’t understand how anyone gives it any rating above two stars. Based on the photos, we knew it wouldn’t be great, but it was far worse than expected.
Pros:
Location
Beach passes, beach locker, 4 beach chairs and umbrella
Back deck and outdoor seating (albeit, dirty cushions)
Decent coffee maker
Bikes (but only two)
Cons:
Dirty (filthy carpets smelling of pet urine, dirty fridge, garbage under beds, AC filters)
Run down (chipped/dirty walls, water staining on ceilings, dated bathrooms, old towels, loud and old AC units, very old/uncomfortable furniture, back deck steps cracked and unsafe)
Cable did not work
No sheets provided, must launder towels before leaving. Comforters provided, but we feared they are never washed, so we used our own.
I could go on, but you get the idea. We would not return to this house and wished we would have just stayed in a hotel.

We provide the best house possible and this review does not reflect the correct condition of the house. However, their stay was less than perfect. Our cleaning company completely dropped the ball. They did not properly clean and a revisit was offered and refused by guest. A $250 credit was immediately sent to the guest as well.
- house built in 1911
- Guest towels are replaced every season
- couch is less than three years old and due for replacement in 2024
- carpets do not smell of urine. They are cleaned seasonally. We also stayed at the house a week prior to this renter without issue.
- all bed mattresses were replaced this year
- yes, bathrooms are dated. Not much I can do there.
- back deck has areas of worn stain. Will require some restraining prior to 24 season, however the steps are not unsafe.
- there may be some wall paint chipped in some spots. Will have to review.
- I wish I could provide linens, no service in spring lake area like there is in stone harbor for bedding pick up and drop off services.
- AC filters cleaned every season and units fully taken apart and cleaned every other season. These units are in bedroom windows for added cooling.
- Spring lake rentals have increased. There are brand new houses to rent and also much closer to the beach. Some are upwards of $15’000 per week. I admit, my house is not the Ritz Carleton Hotel.
I am regretfully their stay was not as expected. I am a very responsive owner who will provide the best service possible.

Accessible location, beach passes, and having bikes to use were great, but that was about it. This home is right next to the train station, which you can hear every hour or so. I would be woken up at odd hours of the night because of the train, and then the person who mows the lawn comes by at 8am every morning. If you’re looking to get some sleep while on vacation, do not stay here. The house was very dated, carpet probably hasn’t been changed since the day they bought it. Door handles all come undone when you use them. Living room is the only space that feels well kept. Lastly, make sure you wash your towels or they will charge you $100 fee (have stayed in many locations but this was a first for me). For a little more money, I imagine you can find something better than this.

One block from train tracks. With AC on in bedrooms, trains not normally an issue.
Our lawn guys cuts the grass at 2pm on Wednesday’s - I can’t control when the neighborhood has landscapers.
House built in 1911. Pictures are recent and we always upgrade as much as possible.
I have no fee for towels.
Carpet was replaced 2012
There are plenty of options to rent in Spring Lake.
Sorry you did not enjoy your stay.
Nice comfortable home. Noticed a few upgrades since our last visit. Would recommend to any one; with or without a dog.

About the host
Hosted by Keith Branche
We live in Bedford NY. Our plans are to retire in Spring Lake one day, but for now, we get to share it with you! I spent 20 years in the hospitality business and do my best to keep the house as fresh and comfortable as possible. The house is over 100 years old, so it is not perfect. Our son Murphy loves to play in the sandbox in the side yard and the block is a dead end street, so kids get to play.
Why they chose this property
Many houses offer you beach badges, but not all get you both passes to the beach and the two pools in town, as well as a locker at the beach already stocked with equipment - We Do!
What makes this property unique
We love the peaceful back deck. Every night is dinner on the deck with friends and wine. Our neighbors are fantastic people and may often offer you drinks at happy hour.
