About this property

4 BR Lakefront Home Perfect for Beach and Wine Holidays. Skaha Beach-100 steps!

Our lovely 4 bedroom home faces directly on to Skaha Park and Beach. For some reason the VRBO map says it is a 7 minute walk to the beach but it's more like 7 seconds to the park and 30 seconds to the beach!

We have a formal dining and living room, a family room with a 55" smart UHD 4K TV (Netflix), and a kids games room with a 42"TV and pool table. There are also two pullout couches in the games room. There are four bedrooms: three are standard sized bedrooms with queen beds. The master bedroom will provide someone with a lovely oasis. It is so large that it feels a bit like a self-contained apartment with a king sized bed, a 42" TV, and a two comfy chairs. Guests love the walk in river rock shower in the master bedroom en-suite.

In addition to the master en-suite , there are two more bathrooms, both of which are newly renovated, one with a shower and the other with a shower and bathtub.

All four bedrooms have air conditioning. We do not have central air conditioning on the main floor. We do have many fans and the lower floor of the house generally remains pleasantly cool.

A large two car garage provides ample room for storing bikes, golf clubs or other recreational equipment. Although our sons have grown and moved away, we have kept many children's books and games (and games for adults). We also have four kayaks that guests are welcome to use as well as a variety of sports equipment

The private backyard is fully fenced and gated with a large deck and BBQ area as well as a 2020 Coast Spas six person hot tub.

Twenty steps from our front door, you will find Skaha Park, which features the following amenities: sandy beach, concessions and ice cream, a marina, water-spray park, tennis courts and volleyball courts, softball diamond, two playgrounds, and an outdoor in-line hockey rink. The nearest neighborhood pub, the Dragonboat Pub is a five minute walk across the park.

The Bluffs, a world class rock climbing/hiking destination is less than a ten minute drive from our home. Many people prefer the Skaha Lake (south) end of Penticton. There are many recreational opportunities but because there are fewer motels, it is much quieter at night.

It is also perfect for a long ski weekend ( it is a 35 minute drive from our driveway to the Apex parking lot) or as a base for touring the dozens and dozens of close by wineries. There is not a better location for a family vacation in Penticton.

This is not a rental property - this is our family home that we share a few times each year with other families that will enjoy and respect our home. We are fully licensed.

Beautiful family home directly across from Skaha beach. Perfect for families with kids as the playground is just outside the front door. The house has everything you might need including a lovely hot tub for the evenings. The owners Rick and Karen go the extra mile to make your stay incredible. We hope to be lucky enough to get to stay here again!

Our family of 8, including 2 young children, stayed here for a week and it was perfect. The home’s proximity to the lake, playground, and spray park was a real highlight. It comfortably sleeps 8 and is well-stocked with dishware, cooking tools, and bathrooms that made our holiday both relaxed and convenient. Richard and Karen are very welcoming and make you feel right at home. The large deck and beautiful backyard were where we spent most of our time together, and they were ideal for family gatherings. Wow Skaha!

Lovely home that the hosts shared with us. The location across the street from the beach was awesome. The backyard is a lovely oasis that is quiet and the birds singing added to the enjoyment. Would recommend this place to everyone. The hosts were lovely and easy to contact.

Our family loved our time spent at this lovely home. Rick and Karen are incredible and so easy to communicate with. The home was so inviting and comfortable and the amenities so close were a huge bonus. Some highlights were our time spend in the back yard bird watching during our morning breakfast and happy hour sitting out front on the ski chairs while the kids placed ping pong. The kids loved having the beach, playgrounds and ice cream shops only a few steps away. We look forward to coming back in the future!

Richard was great to work with as we planned and rented this excellent property. Located right across from Skaha Lake and park, you will not find a better place to call "home" for your vacation in Penticton. The property is very spacious inside and out, well maintained and the amenities are as advertise and fully met our needs. The rooms are large with queen beds and the Master Bedroom is an oasis. This is their family home so there are touches of the family's history spread throughout the house, clearly showing a well loved family grew up here. We would highly recommend this VRBO to anyone who is looking at it.

Wonderful Lakeside Home

This is a special vacation property. Directly across from Skaha Park and Beach it makes a wonderful spot for a family or friends gathering. My husband and I were doing Ironman and it couldn't have been more perfect. Close to Eastside Road for cycling and across from the lake for practise swim's. Plus there's a garage for your bikes and a hot tub in backyard. Rick and Karen are wonderful hosts.

Home away from home...

It was serendipitous to have found Rick and Karen's home available for rent during the week we were looking for. With the beach right across the street, ice cream around the corner, kayaks for personal use, a ping pong and billiard table for evening tournaments, spacious air conditioned rooms, and a hot tub for relaxing - the listing was as described and truly exceeded our expectations! This was a much needed post-pandemic family vacation, thoroughly enjoyed by our group of 7. And we were fortunate enough to meet Rick on our last day, which made for a comforting end to our vacation. We were a group of 6 adults touring the wine country. The house was in the perfect location across from the beach and we enjoyed the kayaking and water sports. Perfect location, Comfortable stay

My extended family stayed for a week and we had the most relaxed, easy-going, trouble-free time. The house is in the perfect location - across the street from Skaha beach. The backyard is so peaceful, with beautiful flowers and quail families. It's a lovely place to enjoy your morning coffee and evening BBQ's with delicious wine. The house has every amenity you could need, including kayaks. (Just walk across the street, over the grass and sand, and right into the lake.) The little extras (pool table, LP's and record player, comfortable beds, rain shower) make it awesome. The owners are very attentive and caring, making sure we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were completely comfortable the entire time. It's quiet and relaxing and across the street from the beach - and it's the perfect place to enjoy what the Okanagan has to offer.

Location, location, location!

My extended family loved our week in Penticton by the beach. Playing in nearby parks, enormous ice cream cones, challenging cycling paths and jet skis rentals at the marina are highlights. Upstairs bedrooms have air-conditioning that kept us cool during the heat wave. Rick and Karen's backyard is an oasis. We spent most afternoons and evenings outside. During cooler evenings we enjoyed a hot tub and played pool. We can't wait to come back! Thanks again for a great stay!

Great spot for Ultraman Canada

Rick and Karen's home was perfect for our group during Ultraman Canada. The location is wonderful, quiet and the location just across the street from the Day 2 start is perfect. It is a beautiful spot, close to the lake, wonderful walking areas and running along the lake. Rick is on top of everything. He is clear with communication and made it a breeze to get into the house! We could not have asked for more. If we race here again, we will definitely plan to stay here.

Perfect home in Penticton!

A group of 8 adults stayed at Rick and Karen's house for Thanksgiving long weekend, and it was a perfect trip. The home was as described on the listing, and was clean, well appointed, and extremely spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of room for us to sleep, eat, get work done, and just hang out, without stepping on each others toes. Although we did not go to the beach, it is right across the street, and there is beach gear available for use at the house. If you're a climber, the Bluffs are as close as you can get, as the house is right at the edge of the lake. The hot tub was lovely, and the BBQ was awesome. Grocery shops are about a 5 min drive away. The owners are so friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate to stay here again and definitely will for our next annual trip!

We booked this property for a 1 week stay in July,2017.We had 6 adults and 4 children ages 3 and under.The property turned out to be a perfect fit for all of us.We found the listing description as described,the house and yard were clean and well maintained and the layout was fantastic for us.The home is right across the road from the beach,a splash park and a play ground,so to load up 4 small children for a day at the beach was easy,just walk across the road!The home had a great back yard and a large deck with 2 patio tables and lots of chairs for outside dining and entertainment.A barbeque and a hot tub complemented the backyard space.Although we spent most of our time outdoors as we had great weather,the house is spacious and well laid out,so we had lots of room and never felt crowded.We found the home owners to be very friendly and easy to get in contact with and provided great customer service.We would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative,and rent it again for ourselves.The whole experience for our family was fantastic!

We feel very fortunate to have been able to raise our family in such an awesome location. Why they chose this property

Our property is a spacious, inviting family home filled with every amenity you could need. The backyard is private and perfect for BBQs or enjoying our new six person hot tub. We are only 100 steps to Skaha Beach. Within steps are two playgrounds, tennis courts, exercise equipment a waterspray park, a softball diamond, an in-line skating rink, and a marina.
