We had a lovely week at Andy and Georgina’s place. The sound of the stream under the old water mill was so relaxing, and combined with the excellent pool, beautiful gardens and starry skies, made for a fantastic break. The cottage is very comfortable and Meymac is a friendly and lively little town. Georgina and Andy are excellent hosts, as is Max the dog.
We had a great 10 days staying here with our teenage children in August. Andy & Georgina were fantastic, friendly hosts and made us very welcome from the moment we arrived, and had some great suggestions/ recommendations on local activities that we might have otherwise overlooked. The property had everything we needed and very much enjoyed the swimming pool, which we mostly had to ourselves. The nearby village Meymac is very pretty with bakers, supermarkets etc. and there is plenty to do in the local area - the local lake was a great spot and there are lots of interesting walks - had fun exploring the local area. Overall a lovely place to relax & unwind, thankyou!

Sfeervol verblijf in prachtige omgeving.

Bémols : literie à améliorer, cuisine vieillotte, télé en langue anglaise uniquement, no wifi.
Point positifs : magnifique région, cadre bucolique superbe, calme absolu, proximité piscine, joli jardin, réveil au chant des oiseaux, propriétaire sympa, accueil charmant.

dejligt sted i fantastiske omgivelser

Ssh don't tell anyone how great out holiday was, they'll all want to go
It was superb. from the moment we arrived, we felt the magic working of this special place. We relaxed, explored, chased around, played hide and seek, walked, went swimming, and just sat still in the peace and quiet.
The house and the host were simply gorgeous. It was everything we had hoped for and so much more.
The area had plenty to do to entertain our 2 children, we did aqua parks, kayaking, high ropes courses, visited castles, dams and so much more.
A beautiful location in a buestiful area.
We are already planning a return visit.

About the host
Hosted by Mr Andrew Fern
We were living busy lives in London both working in retail. When we found out that we were expecting a child we wanted him to have the very best start in life with the opportunity to live in a safe, secure and clean enviroment with the advantage of having both parents with him in his early years. We have managed to utilise our previous knowledge and skills to create a fabulous home and business.
Why they chose this property
After scouring many areas in France in which to set up our home and business, none could revival this. The scenerary is stunning, our piece of paradise!. Many of our guests agree. The area is known as the lungs of France, clean and pure. Its likened to the lake district, the difference being we can provide a little less rain and more sunshine!
What makes this property unique
When you stand outside the house which is on an elevation, the views below are breathtaking. The whole valley is surrounded by some of the very tallest trees, which gives the house privacy, its like an oasis in the forest, the gardens have matured beautifully and the pool below glistens in the sunshine. At the end of the valley is the magnificent viaduct which in summer months has the steam train rolling across it.
