Beautiful View! Our family absolutely love the place. We had a small communication issue regarding dock, but everything worked out great. Great communication with property manager/owner.
The Bokeelia Boathouse is great for bringing a boat with easy access to cruising around the islands in SWFL. The greatest enjoyment for me in the house is seeing the sunrise over the front canal and then the sunset on the back deck.
We really enjoyed our stay in this home. The place was well equipped with everything from spices and towels and outdoor items grill, kayaks and much more. Very close to inlet, bay and canals. Marina nearby and boat access and storage a big plus for those that want to bring the boat along. Enjoyed and thank you for a nice stay!
We have stayed at this property many many times and it never disappoints. Wonderful location for boating and beautiful views from the house. A little piece of paradise!
The house has wonderful porches with awesome sunrise & sunset views, located on a canal with easy access to Charlotte Harbor. The house is super clean and well kept and the property manager is extremely helpful. We have rented this house several times, always a pleasant experience.
Lovely property, very clean, newly updated, well-appointed kitchen and home, very spacious! Island is quiet and low-key and we enjoyed local seafood everyday! Watched the sunrise from the front balcony in the mornings and enjoyed watching the boats come in and out in the morning and evening. Check-in and out was a breeze.
Property was exactly as advertised and super simple check in and out. Great spot if you’re coming to fish with a dock with power and water located on the dock. Would recommend everyone to stay here and we would definitely come back!
Thank you
Stay here every July for a week. Decided to do a mini vacation in the spring. Cynthia is the best host ever. Goes above and beyond. Had everything we needed. Fishing was the best it’s ever been. Jug creek updating there marina and is looking great. Love the boathouse and can’t wait to go back in July.

Beautiful home, tastefully decorated, well appointed and immaculate. Beautiful views from the screened upper deck. Good fishing from the dock. What's not to like? Try it, you'll like it.

I would like to thank you for staying with us and for writing such a nice review.
You are always Welcome, we gonna support kayaks and bikes at the Boathouse in the future.
Everything was very clean and comfortable. The main thing that caught my eye was the dock in the pictures and easy access to it. But, upon arrival, the dock is not part of the rental. Had to use a narrow canal ,instead. Not a deal breaker, but just a little misleading in the pictures.
We spent 7 days here and it is really a lovely place stay at this price. The main upstairs living area is open and cheery and very clean. The sunrises are spectacular. We loved sitting on the deck watching the boats go by and having our morning coffee or afternoon happy hour! The west side view of Jug Creek Marina is a bit noisy and the view on the opposite side of the canal is of a dumpster and large gas tanks. However its is a convenient location to walk or ride over to and buy fresh fish right off the dock!
There are some items that could use sprucing up. The vertical blinds are difficult to close tightly to keep the morning sun out of the bedroom and the master bed creaks a bit, though it was still very comfortable. A full length mirror would be a nice addition too.
Since there are no pictures of the kitchen or the staircase, the kitchen is ample and well equipped. (There is no toaster oven and the toaster that is supplied is too narrow for bagels and such.) The stairway was not too steep and was wide enough to get our luggage up the 14 steps easily. The downstairs bedroom has a lockable entrance door and was roomy with its own bath, TV and mini fridge. It is a nice private space for your guests or family members. It was perfect for our guests who came to visit for a few days.
We really enjoyed using the two kayaks. We paddled over to Hidden Harbor and to a tiny beach on nearby Calusa Island. However the 4 bikes provided were very rusty and only 2 were barely rideable as the other 2 had flat tires. Fortunately upon the advice of the manager, we brought our own and had some really enjoyable bike rides including one to the new taco truck at the intersection of Stringfellow and Pine Island Roads.
Don't forget to bring binoculars and a good camera so you can observe the two beautiful ospreys in their nest right next to the house.
We loved every minute of our month-long stay. The house is comfortable, clean, well-designed with open room layout; wi-fi works well. Excellent mattresses and efficient new blinds in both bedrooms. The house is well stocked, although it lacks a gas grill. Bikes need a little TLC; kayaks work great. Manager Cynthia is friendly, professional and attentive when needed.
From porches perched on the second floor we looked down on the canal on one side, or the beautiful bay on the other. Seated with our coffee, we saw pelicans, egret, ibis, blue heron, and the drama of an osprey nest (a set of parents skillfully guarding and feeding a fledgling).
The front pier provides relatively easy launching for splendid kayaking around the bays. The pier doubles as a good place to catch snappers, pinfish, keeper-sized sheepshead, sea trout, and snook. We saw pencil fish and sting ray swimming through the sandy areas of the outer bay, gopher turtles on Calusa Island, and alligators sunning on logs at the Wigert Barron Preserve. A family of dolphins in the bay came alongside our kayaks, headlined by Jug Creek’s own celebrity “Uno/Fin.” The neighborhood was quiet at night, as the moon came up and the stars came out in the dark sky. Sunrise in the east and sunset in the west could be seen by walking from one side of the house to the other.
Recommend: Calusa Heritage trail, Getaway Café (French bakery), Bokeelia Art Gallery, Cayo Costa (take sunscreen and an umbrella, as there is no shade), and restaurants: Lazy Flamingo, Capt’n Con’s, Tarpon Inn. A farmer-run fruit & vegetable stand has exceptional produce on Saturdays from noon to 5:00 (mile 14 in a church parking lot). Alden Golf Course is challenging but eccentric, quirky and under-maintained (several grass-deficient fairways). Still, my husband played every other day and had a good time. There we saw bald eagles, otter, swimming turtles, and majestic anhinga.
Pine Island is special, but stay away if you want to speed up and drink in a thrill-centered, high-tech, fast-paced tourist beach experience with exotic nightlife, having so much movement there is no time for reflection. Come if you want to slow down and drink in the goodness of God’s creation in a laid-back, wildlife-bursting environment, great for hiking, fishing, biking, kayaking, and appreciating the beautiful complexity of nature, history and archaeology.
We can’t wait to return and have already booked for next year.
The property was clean & cozy. The boat access amazing. We saw manatee & dolphin every day. Only issue is that we didn't catch any fish! I would go there again. Cynthia, the property manager was very sweet. Oh, and the shelling is simply amazing.
We loved this house on the water. Views are beautiful and it’s a good location. The house also has bikes and kayaks for you to use. The last day no see ums showed up. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.
It's hard to imagine a better location for boaters and kayakers. The Jug Creek Marina gas pump is 3 doors down the canal and Shell Pass is about 2 minutes away. Hop in a kayak and you'll be at the Calusa Island Preserve in 2 minutes. There was plenty of room for our 20' center console and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. You'll love the sunrise view over the islands!
