About this property
Downtown w/ Views, Hot Tub Overlooking the Lake and Steps to Tubbs Hill
Fabulous lake views overlooking a quaint marina. Just a block walk to Sanders Beach for your daily swim or a hike over Tubbs Hill to downtown Coeur d'Alene. Our 90 year old cottage has 3 bedrooms, two baths, a sizable kitchen and large living area; over 1,700sqft.
To accommodate all types of parties, the house includes one king size bed, one full size bed, a futon, a queen convertible bed, three twin-sized beds, as well as an open loft area. The area upstairs has low ceilings and is especially adored by younger children. The outdoor deck overlooking Tubbs and the water includes a hot tub and barbecue.
Our 90 year old cottage has 3 bedrooms, and two baths. The sizable fully stocked kitchen and large living area both look out over the lake. Our little lake cottage has been extended over time to over 1,700sqft. The large outdoor deck overlooks the lake and Tubbs Hill; it includes a hot tub, dining table and barbecue. The sleeping areas include one king size bed, one full size bed, a futon, and three twin-sized beds.
Video walkthrough can be found on Facebook at Cottageonlakeshore. We recommend viewing the walkthrough as our quirky old lake Cottage has a very practical but unusual layout. Particularly note the entrance and low overhead for the small 3rd bedroom (two twins), also note there is no bathroom on the 2nd floor.
To relax after a long day in the outdoors we also provide a full entertainment system with LCD TV, sound system (yes, you can plugin your own device!), unlimited streaming movies/TV via our provided Netflix subscription, AppleTV, and a DVD player. Note only basic cable is provided.
The Cottage is set up well for families, with lots of open play space. Board games and books have been provided for all ages, beach toys and beach towels. We also have gates and a pack n' play available.
*Please also note the 3rd bedroom is a small finished attic room, on very hot days it has a hard time maintaining its cool and can require additional fans which we provide. Also, there is no built-in clothing storage.
Located on the quiet side of downtown it is a short walk to the downtown center of Coeur d'Alene. Just off Sherman Avenue you will find coffee shops, restaurants, wine tasting, shopping, live music and a vibrant art scene. As you walk past the downtown core, you’ll find the City Park; Public Beach (with stationed life-guards); the popular Fort Sherman Playground; and boat, jet ski, kayak & canoe rentals. Lake cruises, seaplane tours and para-sailing are also popular summer activities for hire.
The Coeur d’Alene area is home to several golf courses, ski resorts, water parks and the popular Silverwood theme park. Golf courses include The Coeur d'Alene Resort, Circling Raven, The Highlands, Avondale and many more. There are also many well maintained extensive bike trails including, The Centennial Trail, The Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes and The Hiawatha trail. Nearby ski resorts Silver Mountain, Schweitzer, and Lookout pass are within an hour drive.

About the host

We are a young family who love to split our time between Seattle and Coeur d'Alene. He grew up in Western Washington and She grew up just across the street here in Coeur d'Alene. We're thrilled to be able to share our family's connection to this wonderful neighborhood and community with you.
Why they chose this property
The location! Just a short walk to all our favorite things in Coeur d’Alene: downtown, boat docks, beaches, Tubbs Hill, and many great bike paths. Not to mention the great view of the lake and mountains, with the peacefulness of the park leading to Tubbs Hill on one side of the property, it is just a great place to live and vacation.
There are two public swimming beaches on the street, the closest of which is less than a block away. We also love the short walk to McEuen Park which has become a playground for all ages, with tennis courts, fantastic children's playground, splash park, basketball hoops, picnic area, off-leash dog area etc. Many many options for golf in the immediate area. and Boat & water-sports rentals in town. What more could you ask for?
