Stunning Log Home on Private Lake- Country at its best

Beautiful Tri level log home situated on several private acres with its own non motorized lake. Well equipped kitchen, cozy living room with electric fireplace, loft area great for kids play, laundry room, 3 bedrooms( King, Queen, 2 twin beds and futon), 2 full baths, Large bar and gathering area with walkout patio, great for grilling. Spacious wrap around porch with plenty of seating. Huge well manicured lawn offers beautiful views of the water and surrounding hills. If you like privacy this is the place for you. Ideal family get away or perfect honeymoon spot. Great place for children, lots of lawn to run around on, many activities provided. There are no pets, parties or smoking allowed. We also have a minimum rental age of 30 for the primary renter. For security reasons there are cameras viewing the entrance doors.

Early Mother's Day

My husband and I and our 2 grown sons and their wives spent a long weekend here and even though the weather wasn't the best our visit together was great. We all had enough space and did get to do some of the outside things. The place is so comfortable and clean and had all of the cooking stuff we needed for the 6 of us to be together or doing our own things.

Joyful Family Time

The cabin is in great condition, very private, and better than advertised. The hosts were kind and very communicative. There were so many fun things to do inside or out rain or shine. The cabin is very well stocked and lovingly cared for. Our grandson declared "It is the best cabin EVER!"

Relaxation and Serenity.

For those looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway this is the place to be. The cabin was well-stocked and very clean. The property is large with plenty of space to roam around or take a stroll. Most of all, staying here is a lot of fun due to the tons of games and activities available both inside and out. Nighttime offers some magnificent star-gazing opportunities as well as a firepit by the lake. To sum up this is a great place to create new joyful memories with family and friends.

Our family came to celebrate Colgate graduation and it was the perfect location. 15-20 minutes away and such a cool house with beautiful views and so many activities to do at the house…corn hole, paddle boat, badminton, horseshoes etc. just a fantastic getaway totally private and comfortable

Heaven on earth.

We visited for the Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame induction in July. I’ve stayed at many properties through home away mainly at beaches... this place was absolutely amazing. Everything was perfect. Maureen and Jim answered every question super fast. The property had more than enough to do. If I lived closer I’d rent it for the entire summer. So much provided from linens to fishing gear and outdoor games. I’ve been home for 24 hours and I have true vacation withdrawal. Can’t wait to stay again. I’d give 100 stars if I could.

We have been coming to Ray’s for several years now and can’t say enough good things about this property! If you enjoy relaxing on the fabulous porch with morning coffee or afternoon cocktails, taking in the views of the spacious, well manicured property with the beautiful hills beyond, this is the place for you! If you prefer to be more active and enjoy great fishing, paddle boating, many outdoor games that are provided and eating s’mores by the fire pit, this is the place for you! Once you step inside this beautiful cabin you feel right at home. It is extremely clean, very comfortable and very well appointed. Maureen and Jim are excellent hosts and go above and beyond to make certain their guests have everything they need ! Best properties so amazing, and Maureen the host is so easy to communicate with and if there is an issue, which is very seldom, she is there to fix it immediately. This has been our forth stay on this property, and we will come back for many years to come. There is something to do for everyone without even having to leave the property. Everything is spotless when you walk in the beds are very comfy, the kitchen is very well stocked, and the whole atmosphere makes you wish you could stay forever.

This was our 3rd year at Rays Rustic Retreat. We so enjoy the area, it is quiet, we watched the deer, walked and played games on the beautiful porch. The whole camp is immaculate andJim and Maureen are always willing to help.if needed. A great place to stay.

Our family has been coming to Ray’s for over a decade and it never disappoints, it just keeps getting better! Maureen & Jim make improvements every year to make certain their guests have a fantastic experience at the cabin. The home is extremely clean, comfortable and cozy. The kitchen is fully equipped & this year they have added an awesome outdoor kitchen! The property is beautifully landscaped and well maintained. This is our third visit here and I can say with certainty that the amazing hospitality is consistent. This makes such a huge difference for the overall experience! Maureen thinks of everything to ensure we are having an enjoyable time. My family and I look forward to coming here every year to visit family, enjoy the beautiful views, play Bad Mitton, sit by the fire, go out on the pedal boat, curl up with a good book and just celebrate God's blessings. The new outdoor cooking area is fantastic and this year we watched a small family of deer wandering around in the distance, just adding to the wonderful time we had. We highly recommend and can't wait until next year!

Winter Getaway

We were a family of 7 traveling with a baby. Maureen and Jim provided us with great accommodations!Their place had everything we needed to relax with family. The kitchen is well equipped to make meals and there is also an extensive binder with great information about restaurants and attractions nearby. The house was immaculate, cozy and comfortable. Amazing Property

From the moment that we pull up the driveway , we know we are home!!! The property and cabin are immaculately kept. Maureen is such a great host. If there is ever problem, she is very quick to answer and have the problem fixed. This was our third time staying on the property. We stay for a month at a time and it is never long enough.. We love coming here every year and it just feels like coming home. But each time we visit there's a different experience - like baby geese one time, beautiful sunsets another, this year the lunar eclipse which we could see clearly from the porch. It's a great place to call our second home.

Fabulous Getaway

This home was my father's vision. He toiled long and hard at clearing the land and having the cabin loving built in just the right spot for the best views. He lived here for many years enjoying his accomplishment. After his passing we decided to share the beauty of his place with others. We hope that you will enjoy your stay at Ray's Retreat.

If you would like to get away from it all, this is the spot for you. Only 2 miles from town but you feel a world away from the hustle and bustle. So private and yet close to everything you might need. You will never tire of the view from the wrap around porch. Country at its best.
