Our host was amazing, they checked in to make sure everything was OK. Fruit, snacks and drinks were in the fridge waiting for us. The kitchen was stocked nicely with common items. The home is a historic bungalow with wood floors and leather furniture. The beds were very comfortable and all rooms were nicely decorated. We loved our stay at the Wilshire House!!!
Extremely clean, well organized. Owner made sure our stay was great.

Great Home
Great home, stayed at TWS w/ friend and our daughters for national championship game. Wonderful historic quiet neighborhood just north of downtown, walk to tram for easy downtown access, walking distance to golf course and restaurants. Could not have been better accommodations, hosts were very helpful with everything. Highly recommend!

Awesome!
the Wilshire was a fantastic house full of character and charm. The owners were extremely helpful with local info, the check in was a breeze and the place was beautiful. Light rail access was a short walk away, which I used daily to access downtown Phoenix. You will LOVE this place.

We really enjoyed our stay. All the listing amenities were as promised. The owner, Stanley & his daughter Nicole were very easy to work with, prompt to respond to any questions & concerns. The kitchen was very well stocked, the furnishings were excellent & the BBQ grill & backyard were perfect for the nights we wanted to cook at home or spend time with our family. So, we highly recommend The Wilshire House & plan to return!
We have been lucky enough to have stayed in many vacation rentals all over the world. The Wilshire House comes close to being the best. Very well equipped with lots of extras like tissues, pens and note pads in every room. We had a wonderful time. Thank you Stanley and Nicole.
The Wilshire House is a wonderful place to stay. It is very clean and has all the amenities you would need for a short or, as in our case, more extended stay. The location couldn't be better being so close to downtown/central Phoenix. It feels like an oasis in the middle of the city and it's a great walking neighborhood. Moreover, the neighbors are very friendly and even helpful. This was our third stay at the Wilshire House and we will continue to do so during future visits to Phoenix.

Very Nice! Did not disappoint!
We had wonderful stay at the Wilshire House. The owner responds very quickly to any questions and will help with your stay any way possible. The home is very nice/clean (comfortable beds, nice linens, fully stocked kitchen with all the dishes needed any many other little extra touches) and has a great layout. We enjoyed the front and back patios (used the grill). The light rail is only a few blocks away which we walked to many times. If we visit this area again we will definitely stay here. It is that nice.

Like a luxury hotel with all the comforts of home
We had a wonderful stay in this house. There was not a single thing that was overlooked. The kitchen is much larger than the photos suggest - all new appliances and brightly lit with everything you could possibly need. The beds and linens were luxurious. We played golf every day barbecued in the evening on the brand new barbecue and sat outside and enjoyed the ambiance. Surprisingly quiet and a charming neighborhood. Our hosts were superb. We can't say enough good things about this house.

Personal touches make all the difference!
The Wilshire House is truly a gem with those personal touches that make such a difference; from the moment you walk in you know that Stanley & Nicole want you to feel at home. From the helpful notes, to the bikes on the patio, to the extra toothbrushes, they thought of everything. The house is so tastefully furnished with an easy flow that just invites you to relax. Stanley and Nicole were great to work with too! I have found my “go-to-spot” in Phoenix!
This is the second time we have stayed in this lovely home. This time was also perfect. The house is so cozy and in the loveliest neighborhood. Stocked with everything you might need during your stay. Stanley and Nicole are so helpful and responsive. Location is very central to lots of great things. Walking distance to a great hamburger restaurant, pizza place and cute coffee shop. We spent every morning sitting on the front patio and enjoying the birds and neighbors walking their dogs. This will definitely be our home away from home when in Phoenix.

Love this Cozy Cottage
This is our third and best home rental in Phoenix. The location is prime for downtown and light rail access. The neighborhood is attractive and quiet. The décor is cozy and charming. Each guest room is well appointed. The hosts are friendly and very accommodating. There is a lovely back yard and patio for use in warm weather. Communication with the owners is excellent. The price point is very reasonable. Need I say more? We hope to return but with such great reviews, I hope it's not booked!
The house furnishings are high quality and very comfortable. The The overall decor is very nice. You'll never run out of hot water because of instant water heating unit. I believe there are solar panels on the south facing roof. The washer, dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator are in excellent working order. I really enjoyed the spacious walk-in shower the serves the master bedroom and the king bed was very comfortable and supportive.. I enjoyed the good selection of TV cable streaming services although it took a little while to figure out how to operate the system with ease.. The xeriscaping landscaping is very well designed and a pleasure to look at. The general location or neighborhood is very nice and conveniently located near the downtown areas and the concomitant goods, services, and cultural amenities it has to offer.. The palm lined streets of this district and the well kept, lovely homes therein makes it a relative oasis within a large metropolitan area.
Our family always stays in short-term rentals when we travel so I feel qualified to say this is an amazing home. We traveled to Phoenix to spend Thanksgiving with our children who are students at GCU. Our only Phoenix experience is the area around GCU,which if you are familiar, you know leaves a pretty poor impression of Phoenix. This home is in an incredibly beautiful neighborhood that feels very safe. The proximity to just about everything was perfect. We walked every morning to a precious little coffee shop a few blocks away and enjoyed the beautiful old homes along the way. The house itself is a 1929 home that retains all of it’s original charm but has all the added luxuries of today. Stanley, the owner/host checked on us via text throughout our visit and was so helpful. We loved our stay so much, we booked our next stay before we left.
Our family enjoyed our stay for my daughter's graduation event. The house was perfect for visiting together, inside and outside on the patio. Location very convenient to downtown, airport and restaurants. Thank you, Stanley, for a wonderful stay!
Awesome midtown location in Willo Historic District
From the moment we booked this property we knew we were in for something special. Stanley and his daughter Nicole made every effort to make our stay memorable. They reached out to ask what types of snacks and drinks we enjoy and had the home stocked upon our arrival. The home itself is from the early 1900's and was super clean and charming. So much character just like the neighborhood it's in. We enjoyed riding the bicycles around the neighborhood, walking for blocks in any direction, and being in a central location that made it quick to get to downtown, local hiking spots, to the Biltmore and Arcadia areas, and to Scottsdale. The home is one block off of the Central Ave corridor, so you're in easy walking distance to multiple really good restaurants like Durant's, Switch, Vine+Oven, and many other local eateries. Stanley has stocked the house with many games and activities and we found the layout to be very accomodating for my wife and me and our 3 adult kids traveling with us. Each bedroom has it's own wall mounted TV with popular streaming apps and cable TV included. The wifi is fast and reliable. The kitchen is well stocked and includes multiple bins with often needed items like batteries, flashlight, basic tools, sewing kit, etc. The neighborhood is super quiet and quaint even though it's close to Central Ave. The neighbors are awesome (next door neighbor Randy stopped by to say 'hi' and gave us a list of local places to eat at and things to see/do). I'd highly recommend this property for your next stay in the Phoenix area!
We found the Wilshire house to be clean, spacious, well-organized & nicely decorated. They thought of every possible need that we might have and we were very pleasantly surprised at how well they sought to ensure we were very happy and had everything that we could possibly want. Communication with the manager and the owner was absolutely excellent and I always felt they went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. Thank you so much Stan & Nicole!

Wonderful home
We loved staying at The Wilshire House. Our family met up from Calif., Hawaii and Montana to celebrate our daughter’s college graduation and we could not have chosen a better home to stay in. We were welcomed with fresh flowers and goodies. There were games, bikes, and even books and a bowl with quarters if needed (we didn’t know but should have brought $2 worth to the wonderful Wildlife Zoo)! There were plenty of linens, we really appreciated that there was delicious coffee in the cupboard that we were very happy to have in the mornings and the house felt like a home away from home. The street was quiet, safe and had lovely character. We are were especially pleased that the house was really, really clean. We loved it and hope to stay again!!!!

About the host
Hosted by Stanley
I am an independent real estate broker licensed in both Arizona and California as well as an investor in local real estate. Having been in this profession for more than 36 years, leasing, managing property, buying and selling as well as developing, I very much enjoy the challenge and joy of working with people and properties. My hobbies include reading, golf, and traveling and I also teach spinning at LA Fitness and the YMCA!
Why they chose this property
Ever since purchasing The Wilshire House in 1990, I have loved this home. It took 25 years for my daughter Nicole and me to remodel and enlarge it to its lovely condition today. The original portion of the house remains dedicated to its historic heritage while the addition is absolutely contemporary as you will see. Sharing Greater Phoenix and the historic Willo Neighborhood in Central Phoenix is a treat for me and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
What makes this property unique
Being geographically at the very center of Maricopa County and the greater Phoenix Metroplex is a bonus in terms of travel times. Phoenix has a new rent-a bicycle program too with stations nearby! Please take a look at everything that is all around this locale and the convenience of being literally in the heart of the City of Phoenix, too. Walk to the Phoenix Light Rail (The Heard stop) on Central Avenue and travel all over The Valley of the Sun!
See the saved url's for best restaurants, light rail, and the Grid Bike program. There is so much to see and do in Greater Phoenix and The Wilshire House is in the middle of it all - literally!
