Thanksgiving in Willamette Valley
We had a wonderful holiday with family at this beautiful country house in Newberg. Well-equipped kitchen made cooking easy and being on a large property surrounded by vineyards added to the charm. Sharon is a very gracious host.

Restful Recharge
Sharon's Feathered Nest is such a delightful retreat. The name of the house is perfect, it is a house perfectly furnished with numerous details and finishing touches that go ignored in other rentals. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is nicely equipped for those who like to cook their own food. Sharon was easy to get a hold of and responds quickly, without intruding or talking too much. We had her cook us a meal for our anniversary and it was simply delicious. A perfect way to celebrate, splurge and still maintain an intimate feel to the evening. The Feathered Nest is like a home away from home, but even better!

Wonderful property!
The Feathered Nest was absolutely perfect for our weekend getaway to hike and visit wineries. The location was quiet and beautiful, exactly what we hoped for. Sharon did not miss anything in preparing the house to meet every need. It was truly a pleasure and we highly recommend.

About the host

Host profile image
Sharon, the owner of this property was born and raised in San Diego, California in an Italian American family. She had an early start to her culinary training in her grandparent's kitchen at the age of three. Paul and Rose were amazing cooks, patient teachers and the warmest hosts imaginable. Everyone was welcome at their table, and it was at their table that all celebrations took place. Casual entertaining, preparing heartwarming cuisine and enjoying good wine became her passion and career.
Sharon purchased this property in 2002 and began her catering business in 2009, providing food for winery events was a large portion of her work. This inspired Sharon to earn her certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers in 2014. She has plans to write a series of cookbooks based on her experiences.
Sharon loves to travel, but Feathered Nest is always "home". Everyone who loves beauty and nature, and has a passion for scrumptious food and great wine is invited to visit and share all this paradise has to offer. I live in a cottage on the property and am happy to provide you tips on where to eat, explore and taste. I want to give my guests the experience they desire and can be as involved or as private as they wish.

Why they chose this property

After visiting my nephew in Newberg in 1996, I fell in love with the area and set my sites on relocating. I was drawn to the spirit, beauty and serenity of the Willamette Valley. In 2002 I accepted a position with a Lake Oswego based company and my dreams of living in the Pacific Northwest became a reality. Six months later I purchased two acres in Newberg and built Feathered Nest, my Wine Country home in 2004. The property is well situated in the country yet on the edge of town with all amenities just a few minutes away. Walk to neighboring wineries, spend the day at the Award Winning Allison Spa or dine in Jory Restaurant only a half mile away.

What makes this property unique

Sharon loves to travel, but Feathered Nest is always "home". Everyone who loves beauty and nature, and has a passion for scrumptious food and great wine is invited to visit and share all this paradise has to offer. The owner lives in a cottage on the property and is happy to provide you tips on where to eat, explore and taste. Guests can enjoy a truly private experience or can enjoy Sharon's advice and company. She is very knowledgeable about the different wineries in the area and what makes them unique. Sharon is a private chef and Certified Sommelier and is also available to prepare private meals with excellent wine pairings should you desire.
