Desert Solitaire is a 3700 square foot home straight out of the pages of Architectural Digest. It's situated on a large private lot in an exclusive gated community, nestled in a quiet Tortolita canyon with breathtaking views.

There are three golf clubs right outside of our gates that offer 81 holes. Hiking and biking trails start right outside our front door with the huge Burro Trail Complex 5 minutes away at the Ritz Carlton.
While our home is in an exclusive, quiet neighborhood nestled in a beautiful Sonoran Desert mountain, you are still close to grocery stores, a wide variety of restaurants, discount mall and art galleries. Both of the Saguaro National Parks, Desert Museum (outdoor 'zoo' of desert animals), Tahono Chule botanic gardens and Biosphere 2 are convenient to our home.

The home sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms and has 4 bathrooms. There are 4 dining areas (dining room, breakfast nook, kitchen bar, covered patio). Breathtaking views of the Tortolita canyon can be seen from most of the rooms including the living room, kitchen, family room and master bedroom which all have 2 walls of windows. The two covered outdoor living areas and "spool" (small pool with spa features including jets and waterfall) enjoy the same overwhelmingly gorgeous view.

The chef's kitchen has everything you need to prepare fabulous meals, from a fully stocked spice pantry with spices, herbs, oils, condiments, flour, sugar, coffee/tea, etc. to all of the kitchen equipment you might want: from a six burner gas stove, 3 burner barbeque grill, Cuisinart blender, microwave, side by side fridge, double sink, double oven, and dishwasher to pots and pans, serving dishes and utensils, paper wares, etc. Prestocking of perishables, other food items and alcohol can be arranged through our concierge service.

There is a wet bar in the adjacent living room that is equipped with a wine refrigerator, ice maker and sink. It is close to the large well-appointed seating area just outside the door, where you can enjoy conversations and a book or cocktails with family and friends while gazing out at the spectacular view.

Other outdoor areas besides this large covered seating area include a covered dining area seating 6-8, with a wood-burning fireplace (there are 3 fireplaces in all) and the "spool". A 4th outdoor area is outside of king ensuite and affords a private setting for a quiet cup of coffee while you listen to the desert wake-up.

Desert Solitaire has 2 bedroom wings and sleeps 8 people in 4 beautifully decorated bedrooms (2 king suites, 1 queen suite and 1 double twin bedroom with a bath outside the door), each with its own television.

The master suite is down a private hall and boasts a king bed that looks out at private canyon views through 2 walls of windows. Aside from a large walk-in closet, television and fireplace, you can enjoy music from the built in sound system. The master bath is a relaxing oasis with a large, deep tub and spa-like shower. A door from the master bedroom opens to an outdoor fireplace and and gives you immediate access to the "spool".

There's also a fully equipped laundry room and 3 car garage for which you'll receive remote controls. Grocery and additional shopping is located conveniently just down the road.

And if you're looking for more than just relaxation in the privacy of Desert Solitaire's luxurious environment, you are surrounded by an array of options from golf, hiking and biking, to birding and nature photography, museums and galleries, a historic mission, a sports club and spa less than a mile from the entrance gate, horseback riding, ballooning, shopping and restaurants galore. The house is situated between 2 championship golf resorts: The Gallery Golf Club and The Golf Club at Dove Mountain (formerly the Ritz Carlton) within 5 minutes and Highlands Heritage Golf Club just down the road.
