The Dragonfly is located in Elk Rapids on Bass Lake and is a charming cozy cottage that welcomes up to 4 guests. This home rents weekly Saturday to Saturday only during prime summer months.

Located right in the quaint town of Elk Rapids on the east side. A sweet location that is sure to please. East Grand Traverse Bay is only minutes from here. Shorts Brewery is around the corner too.

The living room is off of the kitchen and features a smart TV with Direct TV. Off of the kitchen on the lakeside is an enclosed porch area, a perfect spot for morning coffee. 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. Both bedrooms have a queen bed. Sheets and towels are included. Step out the porch door to a spacious deck with a perfect area to relax and grill. There is also a separate laundry room. 1 well-mannered pet is welcome.

Outdoors is a big grassy lawn area that walks down to your own private spot on the lake. You can sit on the deck and watch the kids play in the lake. There is a fire pit located close to the water. Plenty of outdoor furniture and a grill round out the comfort for outdoor fun. Walking distance to the grocery store and a couple of restaurants. A peaceful neighborhood is a perfect location to get away from it all. Elk Rapids is about 20 minutes from Traverse City. Kewadin is 10 minutes.

Cute cottage. Cleanliness was fine, except the one bed had a stained sheet. Kayaks were full of water, so not useable. Management company was very responsive. Walked to grocery and restaurant

Cute little lake house

Perfect size for us. 2 kids (4&6) and 2 adults. Picked this house for it being lake front with a boat dock. Great area for kids, not deep at all, we felt safe at all times. Lots of ducks. Super close to a market and gas station, and super close to Shorts Brewery, our favorite place. Clean house and had everything we needed.

Short and sweet

Our stay was a short one. Waking up to be able to go fishing or swimming was wonderful. Then close to other bigger beaches and Shorts was great fun. Place is very quiet -after 10 pm when things shut down.Call of the loons is a great lullaby.

Nice lakeside get away

We enjoyed a few days at the dragonfly. We were able to go hiking in Leelenau, shopping in Traverse City, catch a sunset across the way in Elk Rapids and have our dogs with us at the house. I recommend the Happy Camper coffee shop downtown-great coffee, best hot chocolate and amazing views.

Fishing trip

The property was very nice. We went for fishing so we were hoping for a bigger variety of fish. Several other lakes are close by for fishing. overall, highly recommend.

Great service, cozy environment

We were very impressed with the responsiveness of the management staff. A hiccup with the wifi password and a question about the heater were resolved quickly and thoughtfully. The location - right on the lake - was great (esp because our dog loves to swim) but also for just looking at. Great location.

Perfect up north getaway

This cabin was the perfect long weekend getaway! The house had enough place for 4 people and a picturesque backyard and view of the lake. The grill and fire pit was a fantastic amenity to be able to roast s’mores and burgers all weekend. The location was walkable to all the local places and a quick drive to traverse city. The house was clean, easy to check in, had enough basic amenities, the beds were comfy, the Wi-Fi was fast. I’d love to come back to this property.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House was cute. Yard is large and had plenty of space for our boys to run around. Kayaks were nice. There is only 1 AC unit in the living room and the bedrooms were kind of small. Wish there were bunkbeds and a pull out couch. There was a mowing service that came during one of the days of our stay and blew grass all over our stuff on the deck which was loud and annoying. Grill had no propane. Communication w visit up north was pretty easy. Location was close to Shorts and a few restaurants and grocery store that was nice. The indian restaurant magic masala was super slow tho and not the best food so would advise to avoid that place.

Little things

It is a small very sweet little place. Right on the water. Was throughly enjoyable for the 2 of us and our Lab. (Who enjoyed the water and ducks). My only thing is….please maybe leave instructions for the TV. And, put more lamps in. Brighter light bulb in kitchen. Maybe even night lights around? Got a tad dark at night and trying to find the bathroom was a tad hazardous.

Dragonfly review

This rental could use some real cleaning. There were some parts of this rental that seemed to never have been cleaned, under the beds, around the bathroom vanity floor, dirty mattress pad, mold around the shower control in the main cottage to mention a few. A strong musty odor, also. The location was great. Nice lake view with kayaks and life jackets provided. A market was a block away and a restaurant within walking distance. Stayed Aug. 1-5, 2020.

We made use of the dining table on the patio and had many fires in the fire pit. The kayaks on the property were fun as well. The location was perfect...close to the market, a very good restaurant and a quick walk to ice cream. It was a very relaxing stay. The floors could have been a little cleaner and the sheets may need an upgrade, but nothing that would keep us from staying again.

Great House and Location

Our stay was great and the house was wonderful. However, the lack of information in regards to there being no A/C at this house was unfortunate; such information should be up front. But the weather was perfect so it fortunately was not needed for the stay. Wifi was difficult so we did not hook to it as there was 10 different things with different information. All in all we enjoyed the stay and would go back, but better instructions would definitely help.
