Visited the area for the Civil War history. This cabin fit right in with our plans. It is a beautiful historic home with just enough modern touches to make it relaxing and comfortable. My only regret is that we only did an extended weekend. I wish we had stayed the entire week!
My fiancé and I stayed at The Bedford, one of the cabins within the Stevenson Field property. We viewed the photos online but, by actually staying there, we were pleasantly surprised how rustic, comfortable and unique our visit turned out to be! It’s nestled in the woods, so very private. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch one morning having our coffee and tea, loved the vintage furniture, the reclaimed woods throughout the house, the beautiful tub and shower, and even the cabin smell!
We’ll definitely be back!
The cabin was perfect for an overnight getaway. The cabin was Immaculate, beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds. We ordered a charcuterie board as an extra. Delicious!
Nicely constructed and appointed cabin on beautiful property. Great location, especially if you are a Civil war history buff, as there are interesting preserved earthworks only a short walk away!
Everything about our stay was great — from the homey, cozy feel of the place to the updated bathroom and ease of check in process. Would definitely come back!
My girlfriend and I found just what we were looking for, a quiet and romantic weekend get away. The staff were great and took care of everything. I highly recommend it!
My wife and I visited for the weekend. We selected and stayed in the Bedford cabin. It was perfect. Prefect size and space for a relaxing stay. Although the weekend weather was not what we would have expected it made the property look picture perfect with the snow and ice. Old town Fredericksburg was a short trip away. The antique shops are a must shop as well as the Rising Sun Travern & A Smith Bowman Distillery. We would highly recommend and we will be coming back
This was our second stay at The Bedford. The return trip was just as wonderful as the first. One of our favorite things is to build a fire and just enjoy the quiet woods around us while we escape the world. We will definitely be back! Many thanks to the wonderful staff and the chefs who deliver our tasty breakfasts!
From start to finish this was an absolutely terrific experience. The Bedford is in an incredible location. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. The "cabin" itself was perfect and a wonderful get away. We will definitely be back unless the owners will let us buy it and move in!
Excellent experience. The property manager went out of her way to make sure everything went well for us. The property was a delight, both comfortable and clean, and we spent two wonderful nights there. Looking forward to staying again in the future!
