About this property
Secluded Mediterranean villa in the hills
Pour yourself a drink from the bar, settle into the Jacuzzi and you’ll find yourself overlooking the twinkling lights of LA. In a peaceful spot in the hills, you'll be tucked away from the traffic, but just a short drive from Beverly Hills, Hollywood, the Getty Museum and so much more. There's a tropical feel to this Spanish-style villa, thanks to the huge salt water pool surrounded by towering palm trees. Pool heat is available upon request. The jacuzzi complimentary remains heated. As for Inside, it's an opulent space with a sweeping staircase, plenty of luxurious soft furnishings and elegant styling. Two of the bedrooms open to a private balcony with views across the valley and the city – the dream spot for a morning cup of coffee. There's a fabulous kitchen with Wolf ovens and range and everything you could need to cook at home, or grill up a feast on the gas barbecue or Kamado smoker outside. Meanwhile, children (and the young at heart) will be kept busy playing tennis or basketball on your private court, or enjoying games in the home's playful surf shack. License # HSR19-000497

The home overall was great! The view and the pool were incredible. Some of the rooms were dusty and had cobwebs, but everything else was clean. There were plenty of towels and toiletries for our group of 8. The kids loved the converted garage decor but found it difficult to cross the bridge to get to their beds without shoes on. There are several stairs throughout the property, so if anyone in your group has mobility issues then maybe a different location should be considered. The host was very quick to respond and helpful. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and cookware. Great location! Just a short drive to beaches, L.A. Zoo, Universal Studios, etc. Grocery stores and restaurants are nearby as well. We would definitely stay again if in the area.
The house is lovely. The view spectacular. Chris very nice and friendly. The outdoor seating was fine. Disappointed with a few things:1. Without going into specifics, the cleanliness of the house (bathrooms and kitchen) were not up to my standards or up to par. 2. Neither of the two outdoor barbecue grills were functional, so we had to resort to cooking prime steaks on the stove, which was very disappointing. The housekeeping company needs to be replaced.

These guests arrived a couple hours early and were sitting on the front porch. We agreed to allow them in before the housekeepers were done cleaning the house and come into the house "as is" so we are confused by this review.
House was well stocked. Great accommodations for us, our children, and teenage grandchildren. Back yard pool, landscaping, and beautiful view provided our own little paradise. Chris was very helpful in catering to our needs. Our family looks forward to staying again.
Our family of seven ranging in ages from 72 to 5 all loved this vacation house. The pool and the hot tub, back and forth all day. Comfortable beds, solid kitchen supplies, the inside of the house was wonderful but the outside spaces were really unbelievably fantastic. Chris is a great communicator, very responsive. Neighborhood was so quiet we never heard anyone else, very beautiful and super safe.
Chris was very communicative. He made sure we had everything we needed. 5 moms and 5 teenage daughters stayed and there was space for everyone. The location can’t be beat. Close to everything we wanted to do and we always seemed to be going against the crazy traffic.

Great backyard with great views!
Phenomenal backyard with pool, hot tub and basketball hoop. A kids delight. Comfortable beds upstairs with big TVs in the bedrooms and a whole house upper deck off of the two rear facing bedrooms. Owner Chris was very responsive when communicating. Would recommend for families.

Thanks for your kind words and the five stars Greg!
My family and I had a wonderful stay over the holidays. Chris was very responsive and proactively checked in to make sure we were having an enjoyable stay. When we had a question Chris was very quick to respond. The home was very clean and equipped with anything you could need. The outdoors is a paradise and the neighborhood is very quiet. The location is easy access to most sites in Los Angeles.
We highly recommend!
The villa is perfection. It was absolutely lovely, the ideal home base for our family vacation to LA. The location – in a quiet, upscale, residential neighborhood with very easy access to the Getty, Hollywood, downtown LA – was perfect. The house is a marvel: huge, spotlessly clean, and completely private, with every possible amenity. The sweeping, panoramic views of the area are just spectacular. The spacious backyard, especially, is amazing (no exaggeration): we and the kids spent days in the luxurious, heated pool, playing pickleball (on our private court), enjoying the hot tub, and just taking in the view (in a word, paradise). And Chris is a superhost, so responsive and lovely. Thank you so much for hosting us; we can't wait to return.
The house was the perfect size for our family of 7 (all adults). Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for all of us, with enough space to provide privacy. The barkyard has a fantastic layout. Again with a lot of space to relax and unwind.
The location is excellent. We were surprised because it looked a little remote on Google maps. But its just a 10 minute drive to Ventura Blvd, with so many places to eat/shop/explore.
Couldnt be happier with our host. Excellent communication thoughout our stay.
We would definitely vacation here again.
I traveled to Los Angeles with family (total 6 adults) and am so glad we chose this home - it was perfect! We spent several days sightseeing and everything was just a short drive away (particularly, very near the Getty Center!). The highlight, though, was the backyard living - and we chose to spend more than half of our days relaxing around the pool, enjoying the BBQ area and the fire pit. The outdoor lights, including the chandelier over the dining table, are magical. And the nighttime view over the city lights of LA is an experience you and your family will never forget!

Thanks for taking the time to write that wonderful review Jenn! You guys are welcome back anytime!
This place was absolutely perfect! The backyard is a paradise and the location of the home is central to so many nearby attractions (Although, we hardly felt the need to leave this haven). The house itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Chris, the host, was so warm, responsive, and accommodating throughout our entire stay. He made the experience that much better. Don’t hesitate to book this oasis. You will not regret it! We hope to return in the future. A huge thank you to Chris and his family for sharing their beautiful home with us. This was the ideal family getaway as we made precious memories there to last a lifetime!

Thanks for taking the time to write that fabulous review, Nancy! We really enjoyed hosting you guys and you are welcome back anytime!
Our family of ten had a wonderful time at the villa ! We all love the backyard with fabulous view daytime and nighttime (with lighted tree and chandelier)! We enjoyed all the outdoor amenities: swimming in the pool, soaking in the hot tub while watching outdoor tv, play ping pong, pickleball or just relax in the hammock or lounge in the shade !
Chris, the host was so nice to work with ! He has fresh flowers to welcome us and communicate with us as needed ! When he knew we have a wheelchair delivered for us, he put up a ramp to make easy access to the backyard !! That’s great human kindness ! Hope we can enjoy it some time in the future !
We thoroughly enjoyed our week in California. The home was close to the airport, Venice Beach, Santa Monica Piet and multiple “must do” sightseeing opportunities. A quick 15 minute drive to Universal. Plus restaurants and grocery stores within a couple of miles. Fully stocked kitchen from a wok to a waffle maker. Extra towels and pillows were nice to have. The view from the back yard was unreal- hot tub was used nightly as well as the basketball court. Great for teens. Ate outside under the chandelier and it was just perfect and so relaxing. The communication with the owners was ideal. I had many questions and they never hesitated with a quick response. I highly recommend this home and hope to return one day.
Our group consisted of 2 families with 5 young kids. The bedroom layout worked well for us with a master on the main and a master on the second level. The kids loved the outdoor grounds, the pool, hot tub and especially the garage jungle room. They played in there for hours every evening. The view of the valley from the backyard is magical. You feel removed from the hustle and bustle yet you can drive everywhere. We really liked the Noah's Ark exhibit at the Skirball and the grounds of the Getty museum. We also did an escape room and a cat cafe, both on Sepulveda Blvd. Last but not least, the hosts are very responsive and extremely friendly. We were delighted with our trip. Thanks Nancy and Chris!!

Mediterranean Villa
The house is in a great neighborhood, accessible to LA. The outdoor space is the greatest asset of the property. The view from the back yard is amazing. The grilling area and outdoor table with chandelier is wonderful. The pool is nice, though remained cold despite paying extra for the pool to be heated. The TV by the hot tub is awesome! The hot tub was nice but could use a cleaning. The description of the property included an outdoor sauna that we were looking forward to. However, this was false as the sauna is not in working order. The house is spacious and warm with plenty of bedrooms. The house is, however, a little dated. The coffee pot died but there was a Keurig as a backup. The oven has issues getting to and maintaining a constant temperature. Peeling paint in the kitchen was a bit off putting. The surf shack created in the garage is interesting. However, the TV and the arcade games in the surf shack do not work. The hot water in the house needs some help. Filling the bathtub got luke warm at best as well as the shower. Overall, the outdoor space is very nice. The house needs some updating. For the money, the stay was disappointing.
We just got back from a 1-week, 3-generation 10-person summer family reunion and had the great pleasure of staying at this property. The absolute best part of the stay was the outdoor living area in the backyard - we had so much fun that we often did not have any desire to leave the house! The heated (83 degrees) pool, hot tub, pickle-ball court, ping-pong table, and outdoor grill was put to heavy use by the kids and adults alike. There is also a Traeger smoker, that we unfortunately didn't have time to try out. The hilltop sunset views are gorgeous and it was really special to hang out around the gas fire pit in the late evenings, drinking wine and beer after a day of sight-seeing. The house itself is located in a quiet high-end neighborhood where houses are valued at around $2M.
The kitchen was well-equipped and there were even many food items/spices in the pantry for our use, unlike many other VRBO rentals. We also enjoyed playing the piano in the music room.
Chris was an excellent host - very responsive throughout the entire process. He even purchased an outdoor ping-pong table, when I explained that my father, a ping-pong fanatic, really enjoyed playing with his grandkids! We did have a minor issue with the sink during our stay, but he took care of things promptly.
In summary, a great home base for the LA area and one of the best VRBO pools we have ever experienced!

Thank you for the taking the time to write that wonderful review, Jennifer! And thank you so much for leaving our home in absolutely immaculate shape. I'm so glad you guys enjoyed yourselves and played with all the stuff we have. We love that. I really enjoyed meeting you and your big spirited family, and you are certainly welcome back anytime! :)
This home is the ultimate vacation home! There isn't a single thing that could have been better or was missing. The house is clean and spotless. Kitchen appliances and accessories are top notch and plentiful. The owners are great communicators. It was a very nice surprise to find a chilled bottle of champagne awaiting us on arrival; and the fresh fruit was also much appreciated.
I could go on and on about all of the entertaining options in the house - TVs, piano, guitar, albums/turntable, fun center/den to name a few; but what truly makes this house a gem is it's backyard. The spectacular view alone makes it special. The large swimming pool and hot tub [with TV] are reason enough to book this place. Much like in the house, everything has been thought of outside as well - grill, smoker, fire pit, and even a tap next to the hot tub! There are multiple seating, eating, and lounging areas complete with chandelier! The outdoor lighting and landscaping is exceptional! It also has a pickleball/volleyball/badminton court.
There is so much to do and enjoy at the house, but it's location is also quite awesome for seeing everything LA has to offer. Situated within a couple minutes of the 405, yet quite secluded on the hills at the end of a cul-de-sac, it is the ideal spot for whatever you want to do.
Though there was only my wife, 18 year old son, and me staying here, there is more than enough room for another family or two to thoroughly enjoy this place. Simply awesome!
We had an incredible stay at this Encino vacation home. Our group included four families with ages ranging from nine to seventy-one, and the home was perfectly suited for everyone. It was spacious enough for each family to have their own private space, while also offering large, comfortable gathering areas where we could all spend time together. The views from the property were absolutely stunning — overlooking the entire valley with beautiful nighttime star views. We spent most of our time enjoying the outdoor amenities. The kids loved the pool and pickleball court, while the adults enjoyed relaxing in the jacuzzi, watching sports outside, and unwinding in the sauna. Every evening ended with laughter and great conversation around the gas fire pit.The home itself was exceptionally clean and very well maintained. Located on a quiet cul-de-sac, the neighborhood was peaceful, and we never felt disturbed. The house was stocked with everything we needed — we never found ourselves wishing for anything that wasn’t already provided.Chris, the host, was outstanding. Communication was quick and easy, and he was always available if needed, though everything ran so smoothly that we rarely had to reach out.Overall, this was a fantastic home for a multi-family getaway, and we would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed a great holiday staying in this superb villa. It is in a really good location with excellent views from the rear of the property. The villa was clean and well presented and communication with the helpful host was easy and reliable. We were very sorry to leave and would definitely stay there again if we had the opportunity. Highly recommended!
