About this property

Beautiful, new house on Lake Guntersville!

Sail, fish, ski or do nothing but relax on "The Cottage's" spacious deck overlooking Lake Guntersville. The Cottage is located at North Alabama Sailing Marina and is new throughout the two bedroom two bath 1200 square foot home. Large picture windows offer a million dollar view of the lake.
Bring your own boat, sail or motor, and launch from our private ramp and have parking for the vehicle and trailer adjacent to the Cottage. Slip space is provided throughout your stay. Walk out in the morning with a cup of coffee and get on your boat ready for the day. A charcoal grill and lakeside fire pit are provided for evening entertaining. Enjoy downtown Guntersville antique shopping, local music and casual dining within a short three mile drive or enjoy a day reading on the deck overlooking Lake Guntersville.
The house has all the amenities of home. It comes with a large front loading washer and dryer, and the kitchen has a full size electric stove, microwave and refrigerator. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, cookware, utensils, and all the essentials to prepare a meal. The dining room has seating for six.
Gather in the large living room and sink in the comfy leather sofa and enjoy the view of beautiful Lake Guntersville. Watch movies on the large flat screen TV or venture out on the deck for dinner and drinks and while away the evening.
There are two spacious bedrooms. The master has a beautiful antique king bed and in-suite bath. The second bedroom has single twin and twin bunk beds with an adjacent full bath.
The Cottage comfortably accommodates five guests.
Linens for the bath and bedrooms are provided.
Groceries, restaurants, gas and bait are available within a mile. "Fire by the Lake" restaurant and bar is within walking distance and "Char Burger", a local favorite, is within a quarter of a mile.
Once you get here you won't want to leave!

Nice stay for the yearly frog tourney

Pleasant return stay

We enjoyed our second stay at this charming cottage. The location is very convenient. Sunrises were amazing during our stay, beautiful view without stepping outside. Furnished with anything you need. We do plan to return.

Always great at The Cottage!!

We absolutely LOVE The Cottage. We stay here at least once a year and it is the only place we go that I’m sad to leave. I love my own home and this is as close as you could get. The Cottage is cozy, clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The view is beautiful! My husband loves being able to launch the boat at the marina and we also love Fire on the Lake. Will be coming back soon and we highly recommend. 10/10

Fishing tournament

Great place to stay for a fishing tournament. WIFI was not working but wasn’t a big deal because I used my phone to stream to the tv. I didn’t utilize the slip because I wasn’t sure where it was exactly so detailed description on that would be helpful. I’ll be back if I fish the tournament again next year.

Father’s Day Fishing Getaway

This is a beautiful cottage. The bed is so comfy. The cottage is clean and has everything you need. The kitchen is well-appointed. You’re close to G’ville restaurants and shops. My husband loved being able to put the boat in right by the cottage. We both loved being able to walk to dinner to Fire by the Lake. I would definitely recommend this place and we will be back.

Great cottage by the lake

Cute cottage located in the sailboat marina. Very clean,& properly stocked. Right on the lake. Boat ramp access & slip for boat. The hosts were very responsive & went out of their way to make us comfortable. We enjoyed our week at the cottage. The decor is what is pictures and we had no issues with the cottage. Located near a couple restaurants & stores that were in walking distance.

Winter Getaway

I took my elderly parents on a last minute getaway. The cabin was perfect for “not so mobile” folks as they had a stunning view of the lake and sailboats. Cabin is cute, comfy and the location is very convenient to everything. Hosts are very responsive. ☺️ We definitely want to come back with a couple of best friends… and hubs says that next time “we get the master suite: NOT the bunk beds” 😆 Thank you Susan and T - is was the perfect respite that my family needed!

We were very pleased with this rental. Everything was cleaned and well stocked. The home was quiet, even though there are neighbors. Location had quick access to everything we needed. We appreciated the smoke free, pet free home and the king size bed! Only two little recommendations: 1. Have an instruction sheet in the home for operating both TVs. (we never did get the one in the bedroom to work) 2. Ditch the little round soaps! It was a nice offering, but the texture is strange and they will NOT lather. We went to the store and bought soap. Thanks for the visit! We would happily choose your rental again!

We will definitely be back. The host pics don't do the property justice. Maybe it was the time of year we stayed, but I expected a lot of traffic from Marina customers and there was very little and everything was peaceful with lots of privacy. There's next to no noise at night. And the yard the pics show was big enough for us to go out and throw a frisbee around and play other games. We enjoyed the porch swing at the end of the dock and even got to play with the Marina Mascot, Harvey, the big black standard poodle.The only issue I had was the pillows were super firm so I went to the cvs and bought a softer one.The restaurant on the corner, we walked to, is delicious. Pro tip: If you have a shellfish allergy, avoid the chips. They make their own to go with the salsa and queso and use a shared fryer. A couple benadryl and my gf was fine. They have awesome staff and are pet friendly on the porch. There is a donut shop in town. We went twice...sooo good! And we even stopped at the tailgate farmers market across the lake and picked up honey, baked goods, pickled green tomatoes, and more and had a feast after we got back from walking the paved trail by the lake. If you enjoy relaxing, this is a definite must stay! As I said, we will be back.

Cute and Fully Stocked

This property looked exactly as pictured . It was well stocked with toiletries, kitchen utensils, and etc. the only issue was there was an old musty smell that wouldn’t go away and multiple spider webs with spiders in the front and back door and also a few spiders within the house. I did message the hosts about it which they responded that they would have an exterminator come out.

Simply the best well-maintained spacious property

I rented both of the owners houses that were right on Guntersville Lake at the marina. I have to say I was totally impressed with every single aspect of these properties. First the size , big well equipped, kitchens, living rooms bedrooms everything was spotless. Air conditioner worked great .I would gladly rent here again in a heartbeat . thank you to the owners for providing such a fine property

Perfect Getaway

We loved the house! It was perfectly located for our baseball tournament. It was very well equipped with everything we needed! My son loved being able to go fishing off the dock. We also enjoyed the swing on the dock in the shade with the nice breeze. It was a perfect getaway!

What a view!

This was probably the best Vrbo we have stayed at! It was very clean and updated, the kitchen and bathrooms were stocked extremely well, the property manager was great with communication and did I mention the view?? We will definitely be back!

A group of sailors purchased the North Alabama Sailing Marina to ensure this beautiful sailing water would be available for many years to sailors throughout the region. My husband and I are part of the owners group. We came to the local area 15 years ago from Honolulu with three children who love the water and needed to be near the water. We sailed in Hawaii and I earned my US Sailing instructor's certificate while there. I am a registered US Coast Guard Captain and avid sailor who likes to race sailboats. Since sailing at Lake Guntersville we have become fast friends with several other sailors who love the area and wanted to ensure the marina was going to be available for the community to use and we bought it in January of 2016.

The Sailors Group (TSG) has eight active family partners and we own 25 sailboats! We all love to sail and enjoy the water. With a labor of love we renovated the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom "Cottage" so that others could visit Guntersville and enjoy the same great lake we play on.

Some of the partners are around the marina most of the time and can give you information of where to eat, pick up groceries or when you might be able to hear live music in downtown Guntersville.

Why they chose this property

There is nothing like a fresh cup of coffee in the morning looking out over the lake. The best lake access is right out your door...a launch ramp and ample parking are provided and at the end of the day you can walk next door to "Fire by the Lake" and enjoy a meal, something to drink and often live music out on their dock.
