Enjoy your summer vacation in lovely Lewes! This historic 1906 house - The Hula House - offers classic architectural character and coastal charm, combined with a tropical ambiance and décor. Situated within prime, barefoot strolling distance (just 2 BLOCKS!) from the beach. Ready to host your family, the comfortable 2,300 sq ft home has 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths (includes one ensuite), plus outdoor shower with hot/cold, roomy living room (with a tropical tiki vibe), big kitchen with cozy breakfast table for your morning coffee, separate dining room, internet/Wi-Fi, two televisions, plus nice book library. Original wood floors on first floor with area rugs.

Updated features include:

- Luxury vinyl plank flooring entire second floor and first floor bedroom/bathroom
- Above range built-in microwave oven
- Mattresses and box springs are deluxe gel-foam core over individual coils, on high profile frames.

The Hula House has one of the larger fenced yards on Lewes Beach and actually has two yards – a small side fenced yard, plus a big rear yard fully enclosed by a 7-foot privacy fence, large deck, picnic table and umbrella, roomy outdoor shower (hot/cold), and a grassy area for sunning or play. We do not accommodate gatherings that are larger than the rental party and a limited number of visitors if approved in advance.

The home's front porch is the perfect place for enjoying a lemonade while people-watching (front porch has two picnic tables, ideal for Maryland Blue Crab feasts!). While everyone on vacation wants to enjoy the many dining opportunities in the area, Guests will appreciate the spacious kitchen with electric stove/oven, fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee machine with pod or brew option, and dishwasher.

Great location, with a quick, barefoot walk to the public beach or enjoy a short 4-block stroll towards town and enjoy the restaurants, charter fishing and sight-seeing cruises. It's a relaxing walk to the historic downtown area just across the canal bridge, where you'll discover many small boutiques and restaurants. Bike, or hop in your car for the 1-mile trip down to the Cape-May-Lewes Ferry (a 90-minute ferry ride each way, and great for dolphin watching and just relaxing), or visit Cape Henlopen State Park and the many programs they offer for kids and adults alike, plus the waves of the Atlantic Ocean at the public beach!

For those Guests who don't want to worry about packing their own towels and linens, we work with an excellent local company that provides everything a vacationer might need - from beach towels and bed linens to bikes and beach chairs. Almost all of our Guests take advantage of this service and appreciate the convenience, reasonable rates, and quality of the linens/towels.

We strive to consistently provide our Guests with a comfortable, clean, and enjoyable stay. The Hula House is Hawaiian-tropical-eclectic, clean, relaxed and fun with the ambiance and charm of a turn-of- the-century home ... the perfect place for vacationers who hold the Aloha spirit in their soul.

The home is an animal-free zone. Absolutely NO pets/animals are permitted due to a member of our family with a medical issue. This is not negotiable. We expect those with any animal to respect this guideline, and either leave their animals home while on vacation, or find other more appropriate lodging that can allow animals. A fee of $500 is charged per night for any violation of the policy, and the reservation will be terminated.

No smoking or vaping inside, or near house open windows or doors.

Guest count is limited to a max of 8 persons, including all children (of any age). No additional persons may stay overnight or visit the property without advance written approval from the Owner. All members of the Rental Party, as well as the max expected number of non-overnight Visitors, must be disclosed when making the reservation. While we understand that Guests may occasionally have a small number of Visitors stop by, the property is not intended for unlimited Visitors, gatherings, or frequent changes in the people occupying or visiting the home. Any changes to the Rental Party or increases in the number of Visitors needs to be approved in advance by the Owner.
