This home in Hoopersville was perfect for our family gathering with lots of spaces and nooks for spending time together both inside and out. The living room is spacious and the front and back porches were great for those who wanted to be outside. The poker table was a hit for young and old! For sleeping, we put the younger family members on the third floor and the adults on the second. While not fancy (it's an old home in need of some TLC), it had everything we needed and its secluded location was ideal for our get-together.

A little piece of heaven!
I really can’t say enough about this place! The house has so much charm! The island is very quiet! Great place to just get away and spend quality time with your family! Can’t wait to go back!
We had a lovely time on this trip. The house is spacious and the yard/location is great. The kitchen needed a few more things that we could have used but overall we would definitely return. There are no stores nearby so buy everything you need before arriving. You will not regret coming to this house. We made a lot of memories and enjoyed every minute. The host was very attentive and helpful.
Our time on Hoopers Island was a great time to be together with our children and grandchildren. The house was as described (the kitchen well stocked) and afforded a spacious place to be together without distraction of the internet because there is no WiFi. We enjoyed using the kayaks on the river putting them in from the back yard. Hoopersville is a quiet place, perfect for our game playing family and allowing relaxing time to read and talk and to enjoy wonderful meals together. Had no luck fishing but got crabs for picking at Rippons There are biting flies so be prepared with insect repellent. Our guest contact person was readily available by text to address any concerns.
Our vacation on Chesapeake Bay was wonderful. The house was clean and comfortable. It is an older home, but we loved the character and charm. There is a very large yard for playing, bikes and some board games/puzzles that we enjoyed. The island was very quiet so made for a relaxing vacation. The home came with kayaks, and we had a blast kayaking with our 2 and 4 year old on the ocean. I would highly recommend this home for a big gathering or small family like our trip. We felt so rested after our stay. The home is in a very quiet town. The closest store or restaurant is about 20 minutes away so grab your groceries before driving in. We did a Walmart pick up order in Cambridge so we ordered ahead, they brought to the car, and we were off again. There was a full kitchen and outdoor grill so we cooked some delicious meals. Oh, and don’t forget bug spray for outside play since the home is on the bay.
Check in and check out were easy. They had a new grill to use, lots of outside equipment like bikes and kayaks to use, plenty of room inside to hang out with family, large yard was great for our dogs and the area is so quiet- we only saw a few people the whole time which was nice. Large dining table, poker table, washer and dryer, and chess table were all nice to have. Outside shower worked well. Lots of parking. Every room had made beds and clean towels and washcloths which was very nice. Bring everything you need. There is nowhere to buy anything. There is one very small post office/gas station type store as your coming in but its still pretty far to go get something from even that. They have an air fryer, coffee machine, k cup maxhine, toaster and microwave. Pretty stocked kitchen. Lots of dvds and some games to play. Plenty of extra blankets and a blow up mattress if needed. When we arrived the fridge was acting up. The owner resolved the issue the following day. The one room on the third floor seemed to have issues with the outlets working, and occasionally some didnt work here and there but it didnt affect us. The internet works well. The shed door was broken, it seemed like maybe from a storm or wind, but that also didnt bother us. We love coming here. This was our second year. If you want a secluded trip, this is it. We brought our boats and had a great time.
Property itself was good, new kitchen which was great and central AC a plus, and getting info about it before we checked in was super easy. The house was clean when we got there. However, the internet was reallllly slow. It was impossible for my husband to work at all from there because of it. And, while not the property’s fault, we went in August and the mosquitoes and jelly fish were rampant! Overall, though we had a great time and were glad to get away.

Little hidden secret
We stayed at this house on the Eastern Shore of MD for 10 days to celebrate our kids birthdays. What a wonderful gem. The house is fairly basic but full of charm. The yard and the view is incredible. Everyone on the island is extremely friendly and the kids had a blast kayaking and crabbing. The host, Mark, was extremely responsive. When the AC was down on a Friday evening, Mark had the technician come out to fix the issues right away. We are very grateful for such a wonder find, book your trip and go and see this beautiful little island, you won't regret it.
We came for a weekend of photography and had an enjoyable stay. We had all that we needed and plenty of room. We would certainly book another stay at the house for another girls photography weekend.
Hoopersville is a beautiful natural area & the people are great.
Nice house with very responsive owner set in an area that is simply beautiful.
