Very spacious, clean, convenient location and comfortable
Our stay at this house was exactly what we were looking for. The location was very close to the venue and very convenient. We would definitely come back here again.
We had a mini family get together to celebrate a birthday. We love playing games and the dining table provided that for us. The house was a perfect choice-off the busy streets, wonderful amenities and had plenty of beds. Our hostess, Darla, was available for questions and concerns. I highly recommend this place!

Property is not listed appropriately on VBRO it is misleading
I believe the property to be great accommodations but the location is not ideal for anyone that wants lake access. If you are looking to spend time near Canyon lake this is not the property for you.
My family and I our sweet Pooch were looking to get away for the Thanksgiving weekend to rest and unwind.
The Red Bird Hideaway was situated perfectly just a few minutes away from Overlook Park, for a nice walk/hike as well as to get a beautiful view of the lake itself.
We also had various options for dining at our disposal, our family's personal favorites were Granny D's and Wildflour Artisan Bakery & Grill.
The house itself is beautiful and spacious, with that country home comfort that we were looking for. The amenities were great!
We hope to come back again in the future!
We enjoyed our stay at the Red Bird Hideaway! The house is spacious, we were 3 adults and 2 teenagers. The backyard is great!
We arrived in the dark so we were not sure where to park the car and enter the house, the parking is actually on the other street, right around the corner.
The host responses were fast, polite and useful.

Brief review
Pros:
Convenient location to the lake and restaurants.
Big house.
Hot tub was very nice.
Beautiful master shower.
Big yard.
Fully furnished kitchen allowing meal prep.
Cons:
Neighbors were a little odd. One person walking up and down road, and in adjoining yard. Constant pacing.
Master bath door tricky to keep closed.
Could use night lights in bathrooms.
Text issues with prop manager, but could be phones fault.

We enjoyed it, but the upkeep was lacking.
We enjoyed the space and the outside area, but things around the house need to be kept up with better. The fridge didn't work. It wouldnt keep anything cold. I'm not sure if it was off before we checked in and took awhile to get cool but we had to put things in the freezer to keep cool. Only one light in the bathroom worked so it was dim, the rocking chair up front was broken, the sink shoots water out when you turn it on. It was just lacking in upkeep. The we enjoyed ourselves and the hot tub.

Lana, thank you for your review. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the great outdoor space at this property! This homeowner lives just around the corner and is always available to immediately address any questions or concerns that arise during their guests' stays. Unfortunately, they never heard from you, so they were completely unaware of the issues you were facing. As soon as they read your review, they immediately ordered a brand new refrigerator that has since been installed and is working perfectly. Furthermore, they've removed the broken rocking chair from the front porch, changed the light bulbs throughout the home, and fixed the minor sink issue. These owners truly strive to provide all guests with a 5-star experience and sincerely wish they would have had the opportunity to address these concerns during your stay. Thank you for your feedback and we hope to host you again in the future. Best, the Evolve Team

Not Worth the Cost
There were multiple issues with our stay that made for an unpleasant experience. The cable/TV did not work, the hot tub malfunctioned (owner stated she needed to call repairman), the kitchen was not fully stocked, the oven had issues (owner acknowledged that it needed to be replaced)...Listing indicated there was access to the river just two blocks from the house. When asked where, owner indicated that was no longer possible and we would need to drive to river. Very disappointed with condition of property and stay.

Robert, we're sorry to hear that you didn't completely enjoy your stay at this wonderful home. We followed up with the homeowner, and we'd like to clarify what happened during your stay:
-The hot tub did not malfunction and is in great working condition.
-The cable box did go out and was replaced the next morning.
-The listing shows the property's location in regards to the river on the map, noting that it is 1.4 miles from the home, which is only a two-minute drive.
-The oven works fine. The surface light was staying on during your stay, but it is perfectly functional.
-We hope that the generous measures taken by the owners made up for any inconvenience with the cable box.
As evidenced by all other reviews, these owners go above and beyond in providing five-star experiences, and we are confident that many future travelers will enjoy their stay here!
My family was attending a wedding and this home was so close, only a mile away. We had plenty of room for my husband and I as well as my son, his wife and two kids . Darla , the owner was very responsive and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay .
Great property! Close to lake and beautiful parks are just a short drive away. Tons to do. The property is so quiet and peaceful at night. House is clean and has everything you need. Couch made an excellent additional bed, you could definitely sleep two people on there.
The house was very nice and clean. The river was located close by the lake was close by. Everything you need was near to have a great time. We will be back!
We loved staying here. Truly enjoyed the firepit for smores, the hot tub to relax in after the daytime hiking trails nearby, the Natural Caves hike, tubing, and walking San Antonio. LOVED that we could bring our dogs along to enjoy our stay. That meant so much to us.
A special note to dog owners. One of our dogs is, well, a princess who is very sensitive to noises. The first few days she would only snuggle fiercely next to one of us. She wouldn't play with her brother but rarely. Didn't want her usual carrot treats. My daughter saw a mechanical pest sonar thing plugged into the wall over by the dining room table and wondered if that may have something to do with her unusual behavior. I researched it and found that some dogs might be sensitive to the 'unheard by human' sounds it makes. After we unplugged it she definitely was SO much happier and playful. She was back to her usual self. If you find that your dog is not behaving as normal, you might want to unplug this for your pooch.
The only pitfall, and I never did let the owner know, was that the remote control volume and mute buttons do not work on the remote control. Please let the owner know for the next renters.
Again, thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.
Kind regards,
The Plance Family
The property was in a good location, The owner had made sure the house was cleaned and sanitized before our arrival. She contacted me and gave me the info to get in the home from the back which had a carport so we didn't have to get wet since it was raining. We enjoyed our stay.
I want to say that the response from the owner when we needed anything was super quick and within like 3 minutes. It wasn't that anything with property was wrong that we needed, a couple of guests forgot to print out the ticket for a show in Gruene and so I asked how we could that done. She was more than willing with information and suggestions and even was going to go out of her way to go into work and print if plan A didn't pan out. If I had to pick anything for improvement it would be the hot tub did not get hot enough, it seemed to never get over 91 degrees. It could be that we didn't know how to work it right and it wasn't a big deal that we didn't use it but for like 5 minutes because it was too cold. Place is as advertised and was clean and those were my main selling points and the hot tub wasn't a big deal to us in the end.
My family gathered there to celebrate my daughter's golden birthday. The house was very comfortable. We played corn hole in the back yard. Enjoyed board at the nice sized table, which fit 8 grown adults. The sofa was very comfortable, and also was able to seat many of us together.
On the second night, my daughters friend and two children join us for the celebration. It got late, but we were able to accommodate their stay as well, as we had an air mattress we used in the living room. Still with a lot of space.
We enjoyed a short trip to Canyon Lake and brunch at Wild Flour.
I will definitely give this property two thumbs up and highly recommend it!
This house was amazing! Darla was so easy to work with and had everything clean and ready to go early. House was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. It was a 2 minute drive to the river entrance, a 4 minute drive to the amphitheater and a beautiful 15 minute drive to downtown New Braunfels. The neighborhood was quite and felt very safe. This house was an absolute hidden gem and we will definitely be back in the future.
