Winding small streets with old and renovated buildings give you the feeling you are back in the old days.
No need for a car to see all the beautiful tourist attractions. Walking is a must!
Don’t forget to see Lello’s Bookshop. One of the most beautiful bookshops in the world! They say the story of Harry Potter was born here. Frequently J.K. Rowling went up here or sat down to write in de coffee shop Majestic in Rua St. Catherina. When you are inside you might even think you will meet Harry Potter himself.
Among the old buildings you will find traditional Portuguese coffee shops and if you are lucky the people will sing old traditional Fado songs.
Are you tired of walking? An electric powered Tuktuk located at the beginning of Rua de Tras, only 25 meters from the apartment, is waiting for you.
Just around the corner you can find the nightlife in Rua de Candido dos Reis and Rua da Galeria de Paris.
There are boat taxi’s that can bring you from Porto to the other side of the river Douro. The Porto wine caves can be found here. Sandeman, Kopke, Taylors, Burmeister etc. They are all there.
But you can also take a walk and cross the Ponte Luis as well on top of the bridge or on ground level. If you cross the bridge on top then there is at the other end an electric cabin lift who can bring you down, meanwhile you can enjoy the view of Old Porto.
You want a day rest at the beach? No Problem. Take the electric Tram from Palacio da Bolsa among the Douro to Foz de Douro. The trip itself is already an attraction.

Absolutely the best location for walking to any site and location in Porto! Yes, there are hills … and, yes, there was some construction in the area - but both hills and construction are everywhere in Porto, so it’s just part of the experience! The apartment was perfectly appointed, clean, well-organized and very secure. My wife and I loved it! We’d return anytime! The Schaefer’s were excellent hosts! A full 5-Star review!

Great experience

My daughter and I spent 10 lovely days at the apartment. We loved the location and we were able to walk everywhere. The apartment itself was absolutely clean and well equipped. Restaurants were everywhere and buses and the metro were a few minutes walk away.

An amazing experience at this apartment in Porto. Two older ladies felt very safe. Sebastiaan was very welcoming and helpful. The location couldn’t have been better - on a small street near everything in the historic district. We would definitely stay they again.

A Wonderful Apartment!

It is a corner unit with huge windows... modern, clean, spacious, bright... with a little balcony that has clean outdoor furniture! It is on a narrow street with excellent restaurants nearby. No problem with noise thanks to the windows and their shutters. Despite its lack of a microwave, I highly recommend this place!!

Très agréable séjour

Logement très bien situé à deux pas de tous les centres d'intérêts de la ville ainsi nous avons fait tous les déplacements à pieds sauf à tester le fameux tram ! Le Logement est parfaitement conforme au descriptif, lumineux et chaleureux, très bien équipé. Malheureusement il se situe dans une ruelle comptant 3 restaurants/bar avec terrasse sans compter le chantier du metro au bout de la rue, bref les soirées et les nuits sont bruyantes, les bouchons d'oreilles ne sont pas inutiles.

First they make your stay in the apartment as comfortable as possible and guide you through the apartment and inform you how things work and where to find. They will give you the information you need for the tourist attractions in the neighborhood. They will make you fall in love with Porto as they did once too and still are.

Why they chose this property

The completely renovated property (original build in the 19th century) has been designed in such a way that history and modern architecture come together. When you enter the building it shows modern architecture with an open steel main fence, a steel staircase, and an elevator to all floors. However, if you enter one of the apartments you will be throw back in time. Completely renovated with high quality finish but with the original historic design kept as much as possible.

What makes this property unique

The neighborhood is the best in Porto! Torres de Clérigos, Lello Bookshop, Rua das Flores, Sao Bento Train station, Ribeira and the Douro, the wine caves, Pont Luis, the views (and there are some spectacular views), Aliados, St Catherina shopping street, Cafe Majestic. It is all possible within minutes of walking. If you want to have a lazy day.... take the electric historic tram nearby the Palacia da Bolsa and make a trip among the Douro to the beaches of Foz do so many other interesting places to see. One week wouldn't be enough! You need to come back again!
