About this property

Historic Brick Mission House close to everything

This historic Spanish-mission home is just a short walk, bike ride, or bus ride from South Lake Union, Fremont, and Queen Anne. Fully renovated in 2015, it features 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a chef's kitchen, and lots of historic charm. The private courtyard is fully-fenced and boasts a table for dining alfresco, twinkle lights, and peek-a-boo views of Lake Union and capital hill. The front deck also has views of the Seattle City skyline.

This light and bright Seattle Spanish-mission style home was built in 1905 and lovingly remodeled in 2015 with all the character of an old house preserved. It's within walking distance to South Lake Union, Fremont, and Queen Anne parks, shops, restaurants, and the Seattle Center. It's also located on a major bike route and the bus stop across the street is serviced by frequent transit. Dexter avenue is an arterial so some traffic noise is present on the street-side of the house. The deli just steps away is a great place to grab a sandwich or grocery essentials.

This rental is for the whole house, including the front deck, a private fully-fenced backyard. There is also a garage available for off-street parking.

The home features a light-filled living room with TV, separate dining room with seating for 6-8, and a chef's kitchen with high-end appliances (Blue Star range). There are three bedrooms, two with full-sized beds, and a quiet master bedroom with a queen. The master bedroom has an attached bathroom with a clawfoot tub and shower surround. There is a second bathroom with a bathtub/shower adjacent to the laundry closet.

The home has a small, fully-fenced back courtyard/patio where dogs and kids can play.

We offer a comfortable, family-friendly place to stay in the heart of Seattle's Westlake neighborhood. Make yourself at home with the tastefully appointed furniture and decor as you enjoy the peaceful atmosphere or step outside into the hustle and bustle of Seattle. The kitchen is fully equipped with professional appliances and everything you'd need to cook a gourmet meal and host a dinner party. The kitchen is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking and appreciates the space they do it in. This kitchen is conveniently open to the dining and living rooms and a small mudroom.

As much as possible, we use natural and sustainable products. The beds are covered with cotton linens and waterproof protective barriers. Plenty of cotton towels are provided in each bathroom along with soap and shampoo. You will also find a selection of games, books, toys, and puzzles in the bookshelves. A 50-inch flatscreen Smart TV is in the living room and Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.

Great house!
Our family had a lovely time here when we came to celebrate our son’s wedding. With approval from the owners we hosted a dinner for out of towners. We set up tables in the peaceful back yard and it was just perfect. Several impromptu gatherings later we can heartily recommend this house for its great hospitality, location and utility. And the beds are super comfortable! Also the host was super helpful and quick with his responses to my requests and questions. Thank you!

Really liked it here
We wanted a nice place to stay for two small children and two adults, in a pleasant neighborhood, and we had a wonderful time in this house. Great kitchen and garden!

We love and renovate old homes! Visit for more on our story that includes a Phd in Biochemistry an HGTV show called Master Plan and retirement at age 34.

Why they chose this property

The Dexter House is a really unique and recognized property in the neighborhood. It's style and brick construction stand out among the more traditional old craftsman houses and modern new construction on Dexter Avenue. With some modern updates, the place has become a great home-base for exploring Seattle.
