Private Studio, Great Back Yard, Fire Pit, in a Rural Farming Community
We are 5 miles south of Auburn. The Harriett Tubman home is nearby and we are near wine country. We keep the fridge stocked with milk and juice. We have basic breakfast items available as well as coffee and tea. Guests from all backgrounds are welcome! This is a private studio detached from the main home. A pin code lock is set up to give you access at check in time. A fire pit and charcoal grill is available for use if you request it.
We use an electronic pin code lock that automatically updates for each guest with a new pin. You can check in and out easily even if we are not available as you will have a unique pin code just for your stay.
A full kitchen was added in early 2021. It is fully stocked with dishes, cookware, etc. We do ask that you wash any dishes used, as dishes are not included with our cleaning process.
We have a Keurig, toaster oven, microwave, and refrigerator in the studio. The tap water is safe to drink.
There are two queen size beds and one futon available for use. Bedding and towels are provided. If you need extra blankets or towels please let us know a day before arrival so we can have them ready for you.
Guests have their own private studio, with access to volleyball, a fire pit, and a charcoal grill outside upon request.
We live in the house that uses the same driveway. We generally are available should you need something, but as access to the building is automated for our guests we let the guests have their privacy unless they request assistance.
There is 24 hour exterior video surveillance on the premises for your security.

The studio was fantasic! The place was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Close to Cayuga Lake. Host was very responsive and will be staying here again! Thanks!
Affordable, quiet location, off the beaten path. Friendly and welcoming hosts. In the country, but centrally located near many of the Finger Lake attractions. Location works well for anglers with space for rig and exterior outlets for charging. Would stay here again next time I’m in the area.
Very roomy and clean. Owner was quick to respond to messages. The front door lock broke and he replaced it immediately. There was a snow storm the night before I was to leave and he offered me more time in the morning. Would definitely stay here again if I go back to that area.
Shelwyn was awesome to deal with. He responded ASAP when we had a question about the shower. Was upfront and helpful. He was in his house on the property but gave us our privacy. The last day of our stay he said take your time getting out because he didn’t have another booking following us. Worked out great as we were moving onto a bigger spot with the rest of our family on Saturday but couldn’t check in until 4. Thank you Shelwyn for everything and being so easy to deal with- we will be back !!
Hazardous, ice covered driveway. No driveway light or visible markings at the street at night. No water on 2nd night, so I keft. Not enough lighting inside, TV .very small

Hello - thank you for your feedback. We are in the country so there are no street lights. We do have motion activated lights in the driveway to help guide your way into the building, but it is limited. The night before your stay we did have rain on top of snow instantly followed by a deep freeze. This leads to icy conditions that are uncontrollable in a country driveway. We did warn you of this and did our best with what we could. (We have a weather activated heated rubber matt that leads into the studio, which did remain ice free). With the water - we did do a repair on the plumbing while you were there and water was off for approximately 1 hour, which we spoke with you about and you were fine with at the time. Occasionally repairs on the property are needed, and we will continue to do our best to limit any affect on our guests where possible. The size is small, studio apartment exactly as pictured and described. Overall, we are glad for your review as we hope it helps guide people in their decision as we only want people to book this who are looking for the experience it provides. Thank you!
Unfortunately, our stay was brief and marked by dealing with the sudden loss of a family member. I found the property very clean and comfortable. The interaction we had was through the VRBO app. which gave us much privacy. I would recommend this property for anyone coming to the Auburn region. I would have liked to meet the property owner. Unfortunately, during our down time, we were dealing with emotions. We spent a fair amount of time with family, some relatives having traveled from several states away. It was very nice to have this property to come back to during a very stressful time. The studio is equipped with cooking items should a person which to prepare a meal. I recommend this location.
Overall, a welcome option for travelers with pets and EVs.
Nicely appointed kitchen. The provided Level 2 EV charging cord was generous and a great convenience. Some features were difficult to operate, perhaps until you got the hang of it (which we didn't) including the finicky wall switches for the ceiling lights/fans. It is possible that we didn't see the instructions, as it was somewhat dark overall (e.g. no spot light over the microwave or elsewhere in the kitchen, nor lamps near the couch or the chest of drawers). This made reading after dark difficult and made the controls on the space heaters hard to see. We used lights on our cell phones for spot illumination. Bathroom vent fan appeared heavily clogged with lint.

I live with my beautiful spouse, Krista. We love to travel and wish we could afford to do so more often.
As a host we try to be available if needed, but otherwise we generally let our guests have their privacy. As a guest we are laid back and easy going. As long as we have a cozy place to sleep we will be great!
