Gorgeous Chalet on Lake Superior with Private Sandy Beach!

Welcome to the spectacular Bay View Chalet, a stunningly spacious, beautiful, and modern home, with its own private beach on the Chequamegon Bay of Lake Superior! This amazing property sits right on the shoreline, just 18 minutes south of all that Bayfield has to offer, and 15 minutes north of more great shopping, restaurants, and provisions in Ashland. Perhaps the most striking feature of this home is the 3-story Great Room overlooking the lake. The massive wall of windows opens up gorgeous views from every part of the house. Part of the distinctive appeal of this room is the coffee and wet bar, which includes a wine fridge, microwave, and two coffee makers (both regular and Keurig). Adjacent to the Great Room is a theater room with Blu-ray player, full surround sound, and 65” TV. The ground floor also boasts a huge master suite (king bed) that includes two private sitting areas - one of which is a small outdoor screened porch – plus a bathroom with a ceramic tile shower and luxurious, 2-person jetted tub.

Our gourmet kitchen is appointed with everything you need to cook for and entertain your family and friends with class: 6-burner Jenn-Air gas range, granite countertops, cherry cabinets, a 4-seat granite breakfast island, double ovens, dishwasher, and refrigerator (with a second full-sized refrigerator just a few feet away). Appliances and utensils abound for all your entertaining needs.

Adjacent to the kitchen is a dining room with seating for up to 10, plus two additional oak tables in the Great Room to comfortably seat more. There's also outdoor seating on the deck. Enhance the atmosphere with our 3-sided stone gas fireplace, visible from the kitchen, dining room, and Great Room.

Head upstairs via the grand, glass-railed, split staircase to find 3 large bedrooms, each with its own breathtaking lake view, and each with its own full bathroom. The spacious south bedroom sleeps up to 6 – perfect for the kids or grandkids. It has a king bed, plus a bunk bed that has a double lower bed and single (twin) upper bed (this room also has a roll-away twin if needed). The equally sized north bedroom sleeps up to 3 (queen and twin), and the middle bedroom sleeps 2 (king). Each bathroom has a ceramic tile shower (one with tub).

From the second floor, guests over age 10 can ascend one of two solid oak staircases to the third floor loft. This is the pinnacle of the Chalet! Enjoy the quiet sitting area and look out for miles over Lake Superior, or get some work done in the small office area. (Note: For their safety, we ask that children under 10 stay off these narrow stairways unless accompanied by an adult; gates are provided).

Step outside, breathe in the fresh lake breeze, and listen to the water lap up on your private sandy beach. The lake water is clear, shallow and perfect for swimming! Bring kayaks, paddle boards, and other favorite water toys. Enjoy some friendly competition in the yard with family lawn games (provided), or move to the paved parking area for a fast-paced game of basketball. Grill some steaks and burgers on our Weber gas grill. Enjoy an evening campfire and roast marshmallows on the beach in our fire ring (firewood is available for purchase nearby).

Within 100 yards of our front door, you’ll find bike, 4-wheeler, and snowmobile trails that are part of the renowned County-wide trail system.

Venture away from the property and within 20 short minutes you’re in the center of Bayfield, a town honored by national publications for its restaurants, marina, shopping, entertainment, and overall charm. Go on a glass-bottom boat tour and visit nearby shipwrecks, visit the sea caves of the Apostle Islands by kayak or tour boat, take the ferry to Madeline Island, or experience one of Bayfield’s many events such as the famous Apple Festival in October. Pick fresh apples and berries at a local Bayfield farm, take in 18-holes of golf at one of three local courses, or enjoy an evening show at the Big Top Chautauqua. You’ll never run out of things to do!

This helps keep our prices affordable for smaller groups, and acknowledges that larger groups cost more (energy, trash, wear and tear, waste water, etc.). This is common for most VRBO properties.
