Snowmobile, Ski, or ATV Direct from This Cozy Cabin!
If you're into outdoor adventure, there's no better spot than at Trail's Edge Hideaway! This duplex cabin is literally steps from Bayfield County's incredible snowmobile, cross-country ski, and ATV trails. Valhalla Recreation Area, which features a ski jump, incredible XC and fat tire biking trails in the winter and hiking/mountain biking in the summer, is just up the road. Few other lodging options in the area make it so easy to get out and enjoy the hundreds of miles of trails.
Your host runs Bark Point Ventures, a vacation rental management & concierge company that specializes in properties on Lake Superior's South Shore. She lives nearby and is available 24/7 to assist her guests. Our passion is ensuring guests experience the magic of what we feel is one of the most amazing places in the world.
The South Shore The south shore is truly a place to get away from it all, but not so far from modern conveniences that getting food and gas feel like a chore. The guest book contains tips on all the incredible outdoor activities, local arts, and places to get groceries, dine out, grab a drink, etc. This is truly a year-round destination, whether you enjoy outdoor activities, local cuisine, art, or simply the company of friends & family in one of the most beautiful locations in the northern U.S.
The property is a perfect mid point between the most popular sights & towns in the area. It's less than 10 minutes from Washburn (which has a full-service grocery, nice range of restaurants, local shops, marina and beaches). It's about 20 minutes from Ashland, 20 minutes from Bayfield, 15 minutes from Cornucopia.

And if you happen to work up a thirst or appetite, the wonderful Pub & Grub bar/restaurant is a short walk (or ATV/snowmobile ride) from the cabin.
The cabin features an open plan living/dining/kitchen area with a comfy couch & chair, dining table with seating for four, fully-outfitted kitchen, and high-speed wifi that makes streaming your favorite content on the tv or your preferred device a breeze. The primary bedroom has a queen bed and second bedroom has two twin beds (all bedding & mattresses are also brand new!). The full bath has a walk-in shower. The cabin's set up is perfect for families as well as small groups of friends.
Due to the lack of public transportation and the distance between towns/amenities, a car is pretty much essential. But, on the plus side, traffic is not a concept we have up here!
This home is in the north woods: seasonal bugs/pests can be expected. This home is dog friendly: While we make a considerable effort to clean up pet hair between guests, there may still be a few stray hairs in the home.

We were supposed to bring our snowmobiles but they closed the trail down the day before checking, also getting home Friday and with the snow received they opened the trails back up, lol. So, exploring we went since my wife had never been in this area... Loved the location, centralized and the Pub & Grub was a great place to have dinner. Met Doug and Ruth who were great to talk trail grooming with we had a great time.
We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was nicely taken care of and stocked. The host was very communicative and everything was really easy to manage. Super friendly and helpful, would definitely stay here again.
Great place to stay for touring Bayfield Wisconsin.
This place was clean. It has everything we needed. We were able to visit many area attractions within 30 minutes. It also has a fun gathering pub nearby that offers meals and has a full service bar.
Very nice and clean duplex type cabin. It is about 30 minutes from the Apostle Islands out in a forest setting. There is a great restaurant close by the cabin. We would stay there again.
This cabin was so cozy! I genuinely loved coming back here after a long day of exploring the area. We hope to come back and rent the adjoining cabin with more of our family.

Clean, quiet place to rest before and after UTVing. Highly recommended.
Everything was perfect! It was very helpful that they provided extra toilet paper, paper towels, towels, blankets, garbage bags. We didn't really need the extra items, but it was nice not to have to go out and buy any if we ran out. And the coffee they left was AMAZING! If I were to have a VRBO, I would run it exactly like these host do.

We had trouble figuring out how the TV worked. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay. Liked how clean the cabin was.
It’s a Wonderful cabin. It was clean and beautiful on the inside. There are so many thoughtful things that they have for you, like Kleenex in every room! They have many items that you might have forgotten to bring and it’s saves you a trip back to town. If you’re snowmobilers like us, you literally can sled right from the cabin! We will be back!!! And our little dog too!

Jeffery, reach out to us at Bark Point Ventures when you are thinking of coming back so we can offer you a returning customer 10% discount.
Nice but bathroom is in need of new showerhead. It sprays onto the wall and if someone looked the wood is no longer nice...it's stinky when wet. A showerhead that directs downward would be helpful. The stoneware is heavy and noisy. Very comy queen mattress and pillows in bedroom. Nice place overall but the trails leading out are in need of grooming, so much deep sand and washboard. It isn't a fun beginning of the trail ride or return after a day of riding.
