Sandia Beach House: Pool, Views and Fun

Summary:

A vibrant and comfortable beach house with all the amenities just steps from the beach in Monte Santo Playa neighborhood (North side.)



The property has ocean views, a 40' pool, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. 3 of the bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are in the main house. The cabana/Studio with private entrance has its own bathroom. Amenities include AC throughout, wifi, SmartTV, outdoor shower, propane grill, electric gate and amazing high definition sunrises and sunsets from the dining & rooftop decks.



The Space:

Light and airy, the house features local art and floor to ceiling windows. After a beach day, rinse off in the outdoor shower, before plunging into the 40' pool. The property is architecturally significant and the perfect laid back beach house for your friends and family to enjoy.



There is a separate downstairs casita with private bathroom for additional privacy.



Large entertainment and grill space below on pool deck allow for even rainy day retreats. Lovely gardens and quiet location offer you serenity.



Guest Access:

Guests have access to the whole property. Off street gated access, parking for several cars, Washer, Dryer, Pool, Covered Deck, Rooftop Deck and Primary Suite private deck.



The Neighborhood:

Monte Santo Playa is an established family neighborhood on the beach side dotted with some vacation rentals. As in most other neighborhoods you will have horse and rooster visitors.

We are within walking distance of the Vieques Food Park.



Getting Around:

Be sure to arrange for car rental as soon as you book.

We recommend renting a vehicle preferably a SUV/Jeep, in order to best access the house and enjoy all that Vieques has to offer, including some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. A golf cart or scooter is NOT a good vehicle option on Vieques. Getting to Vieques: Ferry: Check ferry schedule for times on Puerto Rico Ferry website/ Planes to Vieques Airport (VQS): San Juan International Airport (SJU) 30 min flight Ceiba Airport (RVR) 10 min flight, 1 hour drive from SJU Isla Grande Airport (SIG) 20 min flight, airport located just 15 mins from SJU



Other Things to Note:

There are stairs to the main level. One bedroom with en suite bath is on the ground level as is the pool and a comfortable outdoor seating area.

Beach chairs, towels and coolers are provided.

Nice location

Nice place and good central location to go to both sides of the island. The property was clean and matched the listing. Great view of the main land from the top viewing deck and a great place for a sundowner.

The Views and Amenities!

We’ve travelled the world and one of the coolest / most “feel at home” places we’ve stayed at. The views are 180 degrees of turquoise ocean! The rooftop deck is amazing! The pool is HUGE and is the perfect temp. Lots of room for 8 people. And the decor… most places we stay are cookie/cutter modern homes. This one has personality! You feel like you’re really in Vieques! One last thing - location is perfect. Super quiet but the best grocery store on the island is 5 mins away. Beach right down the street.

Breathtaking views

This is it! Look no further! Beautiful views, beautiful house. House is situated in a hill so you can view the sunset every evening. There is a third floor deck that you can star gaze from. Kitchen was fully stocked. Home was beautifully decorate. Pool was a plus. There was plenty of room for our group. Home is privately fenced so we never felt unsafe. No traffic in that area while we were there. There are two paths to get to a secluded beach. Don’t let this gem get away! You will not regret it!

A wonderful getaway spot with views of the sea

The Sandia Beach House was a delightful base for our first visit to Vieques! The online description and details in the other reviews are pretty spot on. This is a personalized, comfortable (though not deluxe), spacious, and well provisioned beach house in a great if semi-rustic location, with beautiful views out over the Atlantic coast. If you need four bedrooms and don’t have to be directly on the beach, it’s a wonderful option. We didn’t really use the pool because there are so many beaches to visit, including a small semi-private one just a few hundred yards from the house. It’s not really walking distance to much else, though, so you do need a vehicle (whether a car or a souped up golf cart). Though there are some neighborhood roosters crowing in the wee hours, we found the A/C drowned them out enough for us to sleep. We particularly appreciated all the little things provided—beach towels, beach chairs, and a fully equipped kitchen with traditional drip coffeemaker. The owner was very responsive via the messaging feature in VRBO. If we come back to Vieques and need this much space, we’d love to stay here again!

The house was very clean. Check in and out was super simple. The communication was quick. The location was very nice between having an ocean view and being close to town. The down side to the location was road to get to the house off of 200. Two of them were residential and the residents did not seem pleased that we were driving down their road to the point where we were blocked from moving on each of the roads. We kept to the road off of 201 on the West side for the remainder of the trip. For the interior of the house itself it was adequate at best. Nothing was comfortable to sit on other than the green plastic chairs at the dining table. The couch was outdoor sectional furniture that moved around easily. The main floor beds seemed like they were all well over 10 years old The AC was off/low when we arrived. There

Good house

Enjoyed this house with great views. Constant rooster calls starting at 2 am interrupted a potential good night sleep. House well kept. A small welcome kit with coffe would have been great.

Nice but not too nice

Overall a nice property for Vieques. Close to beach, a bit of a wall or drive. Downstairs bedroom was noisy if someone was above you. You have to make sure you coordinate people coming and going since there is a gate around the property. Wifi was not working for abit only to find out they had the wrong password entered into the property book. There is a tv but no satellite or cable so you have to use smart tv and watch only online content. Gas tank to the grill was leaking and we had to change to other tank. There were plenty of chairs to take to the beach as well as towels. Pool was nicely kept and the grounds were well maintained by the groundskeeper, who came while we were there. When leaving, we asked to stay an extra hour because of the ferry departure and we were told NO because the cleaning crew needed to start right at 10. As we were packing to leave the crew came in and started at 945. We were not given any courtesy to stay upstairs or down while they started, it was just get out. As a rental owner myself, and having been a traveler, I always make it possible knowing people sometimes have flights which force them to need to stay somewhere for a little. Thanks
