We rented this home for 2 weeks. The neighborhood was perfect for our needs. There was plenty of hot water and central AC was excellent. Mattresses were firm and it was quiet at night. If you only need a place to make coffee and toast and sleeps 7 this is a good choice. But if you need a place for more serious downtime this is not the house for you. The house is uncomfortable unatttractive and the kitchen bathroom and basement are likely unsafe.

Hi Robert,
I'm surprised to hear that you found the house unattractive. We get so many comments from guests who tell us it's cute, including numerous repeat visitors.
I also don't understand what safety problems you could be concerned about. The kitchen and bathroom were renovated a couple of years ago and are completely up to modern standards. The basement is also in very good condition.
What you're describing sounds more like a question of personal taste. This house is 100 years old, and inherently reflects the way structures were built at that time.
Everything was perfect. Owner was always available for any questions. One of the bedrooms upstairs was made for children with a bunk bed, painted with white with bright color circles around the upper wall. Overall was very happy and it was an amazing stay.enjoyable sta
The place was great. You will have to walk about 10mins to the bars/shops/cafes, and the lake is more around 15 minutes as a walk. Rideshare will get to you within 5 minutes. Super nice neighbors came by and talked and were great.

Thanks again for staying at our place. Glad you enjoyed your stay!
The house is located in Bay View and you can walk to shops, restaurants and the lakefront. It is a spacious house with 3 bedrooms, but only one bathroom. It has laundry facilities. We brought our dog and there isn't a lot of yard, so we took her to a field that was just a few blocks away. The nearby dog park is closed indefinitely. You are provided with coffee and tea, the kitchen is stocked with pans, dishes, etc.
The only things that I mentioned to the property owner was updating some of the bathroom and some dressers for clothes. There was a mouse issue when we stayed, but hopefully just an issue in the winter.
Parking is on the street, but you need a permit for any length of stay longer than 3 days.

Thanks for your stay and your review. I'm sorry that the Bay View Dog Park was closed during your stay in late December. The closure was weather-related, due to the risk of ice falling from the Lincoln Avenue overpass. An alternative is the Warnimont Park Dog Park located 5 miles south of the house at 5400 S. Lake Drive in Cudahy. Please check the Milwaukee County Parks website for details.
Thank you for your suggestions on upgrades for the bathroom and clothes storage.
I apologize the the mouse issue. We haven't had any trouble with mice at this house for more than a decade, but this winter there have been problems with small field mice all across the city. We found and repaired the tiny crack where they got in, trapped the mice, cleaned, and disinfected.

Convenient Location
There were definitely pluses and minuses of this property. On the upside, the neighborhood is cute, walkable, and convenient to downtown and the airport. The house is also well-stocked with everything you need. The overall cleanliness was not great. All of the pots/pans/etc. had to be re-washed before they could be used, as there was stuck on food and grime. The sheets on the bunk bed did not appear to have been washed, as they had lots of hair on them (my kids insisted upon changing the sheets the night we got in despite it being late). The tub did not drain unless you held down the toggle the whole time so you basically had to shower in standing water. The overall impression is that there hasn't been a lot of investment in the property to upkeep it or make it appealing. I have stayed in a lot of VRBOs and for the price, this one did not seem a good value. It served our purpose but I would not recommend it to a friend.

Greetings Lauren. I appreciate the feedback. I'll certainly let the cleaners know about your concern with the pots and pans. Another guest also mentioned hairs on sheets - I might switch over to cotton - the current ones are microfiber and sometimes hair seems to stick to them all the way through the wash and dryer. We adjusted the bathtub drain stopper mechanism; it is working properly now.
Worked very well for us. Very nice, quiet neighborhood near all the best features of Bay View.
Clean, very efficient small bungalow. Upstairs allows quiet privacy. Small kitchen has sliding glass doors that allow a pleasant openness to a deck with a nice view of well-kept backyards.
