ABOUT PEARL BEACH:
Pearl Beach is a tiny National Trust village where charm and friendliness has been preserved. Surrounded by Brisbane Water National Park, the lush green canopy sweeps down to the ocean and the golden curve of one of New South Wales' prettiest beaches. Featuring less than 300 homes and development restrictions that prevent apartments and further commercial development, Pearl Beach remains leisurely paced and uniquely relaxed. From the moment you start your descent down the windy road into this idyllic village you will feel your stress levels drop. This combination of beach and nature is unique, particularly so close to Sydney.
The beach caters for those who want flat water (at one end) or waves (at the other). For the energetic a walk up to the local waterfall or through the National Park to Patonga is both beautiful and great exercise. There are also a large number of other nearby walks through the Brisbane Waters National Park and the Bouddi National Park. Those who want a more relaxed holiday could try a stroll through the local Arboretum or along the sand, past the salt water rock-pool and around the headland for views over to Palm Beach. There is also a bowling green, public tennis courts and a charming local hall that's offered all sorts of community events since 1950.
There is a well stocked shop, a gourmet cafe with WiFi that does excellent coffee and eat-in or take away food. The famous Pearls on The Beach licensed restaurant sits on the edge of the sand with amazing views.
10 minutes drive to the south is Patonga with its historic pub and famous, locally sourced, fish’n’chip shop. 10 minutes drive north is the bustling Central Coast suburb of Umina which offers a wide range of stores and services.
