About this property
Beautiful, 1800’s stone cottage in Gers Golden Triangle with private pool.
Secluded and exclusive ivy-covered cottage, sleeping 2-5 in 2 authentic-styled bedrooms. The 3-story guest house on the property is decorated to very high standards. Romantic, ensuite master bedroom (1st floor) with luxurious super-king bed and claw foot bathtub (with shower) has 5-star linens and thirsty towels. The 2nd floor bedroom under the eaves has a half-bathroom and 3 twin-size beds. A cozy sitting area on the ground floor includes two tall-backed chairs, a loveseat sofa with excellent WiFi, Smart TV and a large selection of books and games. The open kitchen is equipped with the avid cook in mind and is stocked with basic cooking needs all utensils and equipment. Swimming pool, corn hole, pingpong, balls, bikes (2 adults, 2 children), trampoline, and a 1/2 hectare garden with many secluded lounging spots and tables to spend quite time. Weber BBQ (with charcoal), plancha and poolside terrace, perfect as an outdoor living space. The owners live on the property yet the guest house is completely separate with private entrance, garden and the pool is exclusively yours. The surrounding country roads are lightly used and wonderful for cycling, walking, birdwatching or just relaxing and getting away from it all. Bezolles, the local village right up the hill, has a tennis court with key available upon request. We also have a wonderful organic baker for pickup on Tuesdays. Ask us and we can order for you as we get our order every week.
L’’Ancienne Boulangerie, built in 1821, was the old bakery for the hamlet. It is situated centrally amidst fortified medieval villages, swimming lakes, wine and Armagnac domains and summer village fetes. Your bilingual hosts are available to help with questions anytime, but are discreet and non-intrusive leaving you to experience the property as your own. The nearby village of Castera-Verduzan (7 minute drive) has a small grocery store, bank machine, cafe, bistros, bakery and butcher. There is a Sunday market with local farm produce and the butcher offers a roasted chicken (best to order the day before!)

Why they chose this property
Yannick was born and raised in the nearby citadel of Lectoure and his family lives nearby. We fell in love with this property (built in 1821) when we were looking for our own house to move here from California. We love the huge fireplace with cozy wood-burning stove, the country quiet and the stunning 3-story 19th century staircase. The property has so many features with stone buildings, gardens and stunning views and sunsets of the countryside.
The nearness to wildlife brings harmony and quietude into focus while the petite village of Castera-Verduzan is a 7 minute drive away.

What makes this property unique
We have paid attention to the small details from cotton robes and slippers to teak pool furniture and everything in between. The ancient beauty of this old stone farmhouse and its magnificent sunsets is set in the middle of a completely secluded backdrop. Each day a different sky and stunning scene. Even when raining it is alive with beauty and magic. The original fireplace has the original wood-burning bread oven where people of the hamlet came to bake their bread. The huge wooden door still hangs and opens out onto a private park, yours to walk, play, or lounge. The bees hum, the birds thrive, the owls and osprey live high in the trees. Lavender and roses surrounding the house are there for your pleasure and enjoyment. If it is country, bucolic living you want, you've found your paradise.
