About this property
22 mi to Round Top Warrenton for Antique Week, 2/2 cabin on a quiet lake, Wif
22 beautiful country miles from Round Top. Experienced host, well-stocked cabin with room to spread out and relax after a full day of shopping. Our NEW stainless steel kitchen appliances aren't pictured but they are beautiful and ready for your enjoyment.
Escape the stress of the city and experience the relaxing peace and tranquility of our log cabin surrounded by tall pines with stunning views of Lake Jean. Imagine the look on the faces of your friends or family when they step out of the car and take in the calm, smooth surface of the lake through the trees. Some deer run by with their fawns. The air is crisp and light. They look at you and smile, wondering where you found this place. Inside you'll know that you made the right choice.
This is a very special cabin. Designed and built by my dad in 2005, it was a labor of love from the beginning and a dream come true for my parents looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Houston. We are changing ownership and updating furnishings and decor (Nov 2018). We hope you stay again in the last half of 2019 when more updating and renovating is complete. We know its not perfect, but we think you'll still love it all the same, just like we do.
This is a true, dry-stacked Texas Red Heart Cedar log cabin. If you love the smell of cedar, book an extra night!
House Rules
-The lake is a fishing and paddleboat lake only. There is never any swimming in the lake, ever. Guests assume 100% responsibility and liability if they enter the lake at all for any reason. Children under 18 must be accompanied or supervised by an adult by the lake at all times.
- Our septic system can only handle waste and toilet paper. Serious harm can be caused by feminine products, baby wipes, or paper towels or anything out of the ordinary being flushed down the toilet or poured down the sinks.
- No fires of any kind may be started inside, on the deck, or on the property. When burn bans are NOT in effect, the BBQ pit may be used by guests who have knowledge of how to grill outdoors.
- All of our neighbors enjoy the peace and quiet of the area. Our quiet hours are very strict, especially on the back deck, starting at 9pm. Anything above a normal conversation should be taken inside after 9pm each night. Music from our speakers or any devise must be brought inside or turned off after 9pm.
- Only paying guests named in the reservation are allowed to enter the cabin.
- There is no smoking on the property, no exceptions. This includes no smoking on the back deck, side decks, front/back/side yards. This is a fire hazard with the pine needles that lay on the ground throughout the property. If smoking has occurred anywhere on the property, your security deposit will be forfeited in full.
- If you are cooking and there is grease to be disposed of, it must be put into a glass jar with a lid (we supply some jars for you) and must be thrown in the trash. Please do not pour the grease outside on the ground or down the sink. Please then use a paper towel to wipe out the rest of the grease in the pan and throw the paper towel in the trash.
-If guest items are left in the cabin, they will be mailed them back to you if you want them returned. A $10 service fee plus the cost of packaging and postage will be claimed against your security deposit for this service.
- No local, last-minute bookings. Special exceptions will be taken into consideration. "Last-minute" is considered 48 hours or less before check-in time.
-Parties, events, or illegal activity is grounds for immediate eviction and forfeiture of the security deposit. Illegal activity may include using the cabin's WiFi for illegal downloads, illegal internet browsing, or any other digital illegal communications.

About the host
Hosted by Ashley Wolfe

Erik and Ashley Wolfe own and operate The Blessed Cloud - Log Cabin on the Lake. Ever since Ashley's dad built the cabin in 2005, she felt the need to keep it in the family if ownership were ever to change hands. Now that the opportunity has presented itself, Ashley and Erik are able to open its doors to travelers and vacationers alike (while still enjoying it every so often).
Why they chose this property
This log cabin has been a family getaway since it was built in 2005. Originally thought to be my parent's permanent retirement destination, it was built with comfort, space, and the peacefullness of the country in mind.
When my dad started to talk about putting it on the market, I quickly offered to be his first bidder! I wanted to keep it in the family and take over ownership.
I'm so happy that he agreed and we are the proud owners of our very own log cabin that my parents can STILL come and enjoy when we don't have guests.

What makes this property unique
You can't put a price on peace and quiet. The Blessed Cloud offers you just that. You can choose to stay connected through WiFi and cable TV. Or you can forget all about it, knowing that all you need is a little down time to reboot.
The moment you step out onto the back deck and look out over Lake Jean, is the moment you know why you came. Its the moment you take a deep breath and exhale. Its the point when you realize that there is a different experience at the cabin.
Our full kitchen, open living area, and two bedrooms make it feel like home. The master bedroom has an ensuite (in-room) bathroom while the guest bathroom is in the hallway near the second bedroom. Both rooms have walk-in closets to store your luggage or other belongings.
The Blessed Cloud is nestled in the trees in the private neighborhood of Clear Lake Pines. You might hear the occasional barking dog or someone driving by. But this is a good reminder that you are among good neighbors - people who care about the place just like we do.
