Great place for families

We had a great time and the kids really enjoyed playing outside on the tennis court. We will definitely come back during the summer so we can enjoy the downstairs kitchen and the pool!!

Additionally, we understand the homeowner was in constant contact with you throughout their stay and even had the pool cleaned midway through your stay. The owner went above and beyond to ensure you were satisfied during your stay, but we're sorry to hear that wasn't the case. First I gave this house 5 stars because of the room, all the amenities and the beautiful property. We love everything in the home with one exception. The master bedroom bed was so hard that it felt like I was sleeping on the dining room table! I did try the bed in the bedroom next to the master but that mattress sank to the floor. The other bedrooms were fine. We had everything we needed to cook and enjoy our stay. Walmart was close by so we shopped for groceries there. The lanai was wonderful and where we hung out most of the time. Pool is big (approx 24 X 48) and was very nice. Would rent again if mattress is updated in master! Great time.

Big Fun at Big Oaks in Bay St. Louis!

My family was over the top impressed with your property. I heard several family members commenting that y’all thought of everything to welcome us and make your guests feel right at home. We all had plenty of together time in the spacious living, and dining areas. The gourmet kitchens, both upstairs and down were so well stocked. We didn’t want for anything. Everyone had plenty of personal space as well with the adorable, comfortable bedrooms and roomy bathrooms. My family wants to make this a yearly event and now this is the only place they want to stay. We will definitely be returning. Thanks so much for making your gracious home available to others!

We were a group of 10. The best location for the group was outside in the pool area. Plenty of space, two grills, T.V., ping pong table, pool, and more. Enjoyed the beautiful bayou. Perfect place to bring your boat(boat launch was about 1/2 mile from the house). The only drawbacks, which were few- the egg water smell was very strong(bring bottled water and ice with you). The bed in the master bedroom was extremely firm, forcing us to sleep on the couch. Other than that, it was perfect. Owners were easily contacted and pleasant. Enjoy this beautiful property with family and friends, a perfect place for it!

Beautiful property! Lots to do! Pool, ping pong, plenty to keep you satified.

Great Stay! The scenery over looking the bayou and wetlands was beautiful! This is a very relaxing house. If we wanted to chill out and relax there was plenty space to that. If we wanted games or a little more active things to do there were plenty of games to play and things to do as well. The well water was an issue with some in our group. We also had an issue with the hot water. The whole house would only get hot water if we ran the shower closest to the tankless water heater for a bit to get it flowing through the house. But overall it was an enjoyable few days!

After going over your feedback, the homeowner wanted to address the items that you mentioned: -We have well water that has slight discoloration and odor, which is normal. It's safe to drink and has been tested by Mississippi State University. -When you called us about the hot water we got a plumber to the property quickly. They reported there were no issues, and it was a user error. We're glad you enjoyed the location and your stay overall!

Great quick trip before back to school

We throughly enjoyed our stay! The house has everything you need and want. We played tennis, basketball, croquet and cooked in the kitchen outside. The breeze is good underneath even in August! The pool was great and we even fished off the dock. House can accommodate many and having 4 full bathrooms is a big plus! We will be back!

Pure bliss!!!!

This property puts you within most adventures the gluf coast has to offer and return to a secluded palace of pwacee. This property is lavash to say the least. Any mix of group would fit perfectly; family, friends this is the place to be!! Property owners were a joy to share our experiences with.

Nice setup with problems

The house setup and outdoor space was really nice. Plenty of seating, BBQ, small cooler downstairs to use. The holes in the skimmer to scoop up leaves and bugs in the pool were too big to pick up. We had to go to Walmart and pick one up. The house is supplied by Well water which has a very pungent odor. We did not have enough towels for baths passed the first night. We we’re not told prior that the washer was broken. The owner was informed and stated it couldn’t be fixed until next week. We we’re told to use a local laundromat or go to Walmart and buy towels and leave receipt. Also the bed in the master bedroom is VERY firm. My husband and I ended up sleeping in the daybed. Also please bring your own supplies (which we did not know) no extra toilet paper or paper towels and dishwasher pods. And the toilet paper has to be 1 ply not to clog septic. Also there is no playground as in the pics for the kids- not sure why.

Hi Jesse and Sheila, we want to make vacation rental easy for everyone, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your stay. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following: 1) Our pool service selected the skimmer and they've had no issues with it. The pool is also professionally cleaned and serviced every week. 2) Most homes along the coast are supplied with treated well water but we're sorry if this came as a surprise. 3) When you reached out after having gone through our supply of towels after your baby became sick on the first night, we offered to reimburse you for any new ones you purchased that night. We had our cleaning team drop off additional towels and linens the next morning. 4) We were made aware that the W/D had been damaged after the previous guest left the morning of your arrival and we notified you immediately. We're sorry we couldn't give advanced warning but did suggest a local laundromat. 5) We're sorry to hear that the bed didn't meet your comfort preferences, we try to accommodate as many guests' tastes as possible. 6) We supply paper products in all bathrooms and kitchen, and provide a sponge and dish soap for each stay. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we're glad to hear you enjoyed the layout, amenities and all the outdoor space!

Finding peace & comfort: First travel since Pandemic

Five travel buddies were delighted to be together after a year of no travel and this house was the perfect destination. Spacious and very welcoming, we five spent a delightful week enjoying the many amenities the house offered. All the indoor spaces are on the same floor and we enjoyed the open-concept living/kitchen that overlooked the bayou and the spectacular marshes beyond. The deck was a favorite place for watching the sunset, the many birds, the live oak trees. On the ground level is an entire outdoor kitchen and living room next to the beautifully maintained swimming pool, it is truly lovely. Our April stay included some rain and dramatic weather and that made the stay in the house even better. We hope to return to Big Oaks.

Peaceful Getaway

We arrived on a Thursday afternoon and were awe struck at how much this property offered. The adults were able to relax while the kids went from one fun thing to the next. The pool was a perfect size and I don't think my 4 year left the pool all weekend. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great get away. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

We stayed at this property October 11-17. There were 4 couples and our grandson. We literally didn’t have to leave the property to have plenty to do. We spent a lot of time at the pool, but we also played basketball, crochet, bocce ball, corn hole, and connect 4. The weather was beautiful to go along with the beautiful setting and accommodations. We had planned on going into New Orleans before Covid, but we didn’t miss it at all. The house was clean and well-stocked, and the outdoor kitchen and living area was perfect. The layout of the rooms was comfortable with enough privacy for everyone. The only suggestion I would make is to stock a small hand mixer. That was the only thing we didn’t find. We did read some reviews about the water and an odor. It is certainly apparent, but I can say that it definitely didn’t ruin any part of our trip. I would highly recommend this property. We said many times during the week that we will definitely come back. Thanks for a great week.

The Gang Trip

There were 9 of us seniors (50+) to stay in this beautiful home. We had plenty of space to enjoy our (almost) annual “Gang Trip”. The fact that Hurricane Sally interrupted the trip for a couple of days, Susan and Lee were generous to offer us two additional nights. They were the ultimate host, easy to communicate with and easily available. Hopefully we’ll be back next year!

BEAUTIFUL PLACE

We absolutely enjoyed our quite stay there. There was something for everyone. Our kids enjoyed the pool, basketball quart, and the ping pong table the most. My only complaint was the master bedroom bed was way to firm for my husband and I and there was not enough good skillets to cook for several people. We did most of our cooking there and did not eat our much, so the lack of skillets made it difficult. The down stairs kitchen was awesome and it was just an all around beautiful, peaceful place. We would give it 5 stars and recommend the house to others.

Ultimate Draft Destination

We all get together a bunch of guys from high school and college to draft our fantasy football team. It is a destination draft every year going from Orange Beach to Grand Isle. Even with both storms in the gulf right before, we all didn’t even know if all of us could drive or fly in. But no problem for this place that was as ready as soon as we got there. pool is unlike any other with the lights and scenery. It accommodated as was very private. We will be back next year. Same weekend!
