About this property
The Gingerbread Farmyard Tiny Home - Come and Reconnect!
Looking to escape for a little while to a storybook tiny home laced with the enchantment of long ago and surrounded by animals? Then come to the Gingerbread Farmyard Tiny Home! Here you can meet the Sheep, Leo, and Lola as well as the geese, ducks, chickens and pigeons - -and get to know our three little pigs - - Wilbur, who loves a good belly rub, and Julianna and Sylvester! Then, after reconnecting with nature, you can visit the surrounding towns of Burnsville, Spruce Pine, Mars Hill, and Asheville, all just a short drive away. Or, you can take a walk on our country road.
My name is Jacki and my husband is Saleh. We've lived here on Miller Branch Road for 21 years now. My husband built our home, and The Tiny Gingerbread Home. The home that we live in is on the other side of the Aviary across from the Tiny Gingerbread. We have many friendly animals, almost all are rescues. There are two pet sheep and an Aviary of geese, ducks, chickens, and pigeons. And of course, the pigs. We also have two old dogs, Bella and Bandit, and one older cat, Shadow.
Our location is unique. We are on the Yancey-Madison line, making us close enough to everything yet, when you are here, you feel like you're retreating from it all. Actually, we are 25 minutes to North Asheville, and 25 minutes to Spruce Pine. The towns of Burnsville, Mars Hill, and Weaverville are 15 and 20 minutes away. That's why we bought the property years ago, because it was near enough to our family in Asheville, yet we could still have a little taste of the 'wilderness' .
The Tiny Gingerbread Home is really like a little storybook retreat that has everything you'll need for a comfortable stay. It has a little living room, little kitchen, little bedroom and little bathroom. It's decorated with antiques and many touches that would make Hansel and Gretel feel right at home! It has a comfortable twin daybed that doubles as a couch in the little living - room. The kitchen has a refrigerator, microwave, convection oven, a two burner stove top,and a coffeemaker. The little bedroom has a desk and there's room for luggage and hanging clothing. There is also a little dryer to dry the clothing you can wash in the mini washing machine, that sits next to the sink in the kitchen. The Gingerbread has its own little porch and a deck that sits right above the Aviary. It's right next to the Gingerbread FarmYard.
We offer the Tiny Gingerbread as a month or more rental. It is ideal for one person, especially one who works from home. Because we live on the same property, a single person will feel safe here and that's important, especially if you are a woman traveling alone... The internet is commercial grade and is ideal for working online. There is a also a television with ROKU.
Our road is a hard-packed gravel road with some ups and downs. The road is not steep nor curvy, so although higher clearance cars are very comfortable driving on it, all makes of cars can travel on our road but we do advise against extremely low clearance cars. You do not need a four wheel drive for our road, but in Winter, if it snows, a four wheel drive comes in handy! We are a half mile up on Miller Branch Road.
So come for a stay at the Gingerbread Farmyard Tiny Home - - It can be a cozy little adventure!
