Great rental. Quiet area. Near Ashville and other interests. We were there fly fishing and it is a central location to many productive trout streams. Thanks
The loft and property are both very well maintained. The road is quiet and the star gazing is great! It is perfect for a quiet getaway that is still close to lots of fun things.
The cabin is off the beaten path. But close enough to get to Asheville within 20 minutes. Grocery shopping is close by. The peacefulness of the river was very very nice. The hosts are very nice.
Second time we have stayed here, and we will be back again in the future. The cabin is super clean, super comfortable, and the layout is just perfect for us!
Great weekend! Quick response with any questions. Beautiful farm with an exceptional loft looking over the river. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to create wonderful wholesome meals. Check-in and out was worry free. Highly recommend.
It was overall great, nice and secluded had all the necessary ammenities, no tv so able to detox if you want to the balcony looks over at the river you can listen to the river and the frogs at night, the driveway is a little tricky but once you know where it is very easy.
We had one of the most memorable times of our lives! Me and a childhood friend reconnected while disconnecting from the rat race! Having no TV was just what we needed! We fished the Ivy and landed a few! The host was incredibly hospitable! Thanks Sarah!
Perfect for a long weekend in Mars Hill. What a diamond in the rough. Was large enough for us with plenty of seating, fully stocked etc. wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. The host was amazing with giving check in details prior etc. We travel with a service dog and not knowing what to expect regarding steps for myself it ended up being great. The only steps were out the front door. Everything is all on one level, clean and well appointed. We felt at home and safe. Thank you again. We’ll be back.
Our family (dog included) stayed at the loft for the Christmas holiday. Everything we needed was available for us during our stay. We will definitely come back to visit, hopefully when the weather is warmer.
We have explored quite a number of places in North Carolina, and this was the very best we have found! Super clean, perfectly located, an oasis for the soul! The place feels like home, and the scenery is breathtaking. We will be returning time after Time!
We enjoyed staying at The Loft for a quick family getaway. The host were gracious and the property was beautiful and cozy! The river running behind the property was our favorite place to enjoy everything that nature had to offer at the location! Will definitely return in future.
My family made a last minute decision to have a mountain weekend and go snow tubing. The house was perfect for this. The home is super clean and located in a nice quiet area and proximity to Ivy Creek was awesome. Would love to come back and try trout fishing in the creek.
We had a delightful time at the spacious Loft. Each room was well appointed with everything you might need. There were quaint, easy to understand notes through out the home The beds were comfortable and the rooms could be darkened for a restful nights sleep. Views were spectacular. All in all it was a wonderful visit.
Sarah was very accommodating and the area was perfect for my stay of 2 days(wish it were longer) The area was beautiful with Ivy River at the end of the property.
I came from CA and needing to relax and that's what I was able to do along with a beautiful walk on the country road.
Things were very clean and nice. I would love to come back and stay longer!
Beautiful property. Even better than the listing hints at. We weren't bothered by the owners but when we saw them they were very nice and welcoming. They have great advice on where to go. We stayed a whole week and loved it so much we are thinking of moving to the area. The only thing that surprised me was that there wasn't a T.V but we didn't miss it bu
We had a great stay for a spontaneous trip to the mountains to go sledding. The sledding hill is very close by. We also really liked Weaverville. It has a cute downtown area and all the amenities you need without having to be in a bigger city like Asheville. There are many amenities nearby even though the property is on a private road and in more of a remote location. Walking by the river was peaceful. The quiet nights were nice. We didn’t realize there would not be a TV but we actually were ok with this because we spent more time as a family playing games and being outside. The home is very nice, recently remodeled. Inside you would find everything you should need for your trip. I especially appreciated the cast-iron and stainless steel pots and pans. Typically rentals have scratched up pots and pans and cheap dishware, but that was not the case here. Everything was of nice quality. It seems every detail was thought of in this home, down to the rocking chairs on the back porch. I would suggest you bring cash for the pet cleaning if you bring a dog. We did not realize we needed to pay this separately. The property manager was quick with response times and communicative. We hope we can come back in spring to enjoy more time at the river.
Very comfortable place. Since I was staying for awhile I needed to bring in my own TV. Great place to walk your dog along the roads by the river. Convenient to town. I was there at a very awkward time during the storms and hurricane. Being next to the river wasn’t really a “normal” river experience at that time, but kudos to the owners for keeping me advised and safe. We all made it thru the flood. It Was quite an experience! The Loft and their home survived! Wishing them the best for their future and recovery!
Clean, nice location, but don’t expect any privacy
The property itself is good. It’s clean. The beds are comfortable, the deck is nice (though the railing is loose in a few places). The kitchen had almost everything we need. The proximity to the river is great. The owner let us check in about 40 minutes early.
This could have been a wonderful stay, but there was entirely too much communication with the property owner “reminding” us of rules “just in case” we planned to break them (or inventing new rules mid-stay).
We are always excellent guests and treat other people’s property respectfully and follow house rules.
We accessed the river from a few different locations on their property (apparently not allowed, only one spot is allowed although there was nothing indicating this), we grilled on the deck (only permitted in the yard, again nothing indicating this), another family cooked and ate dinner with us one evening before returning to their rental (were told we need to notify them if we have anyone over, again this was not indicated anywhere).
While a little stifling, none of these “rules” were a bid deal, if we’d known about them. However, these “rules” weren’t stated anywhere. They need to update their rules so the expectations are clear before booking.
We felt like we were constantly being watched and scrutinized during our stay. It made for a less than relaxing environment.
