Woodlands Cottage is one of six private, inviting and beautifully styled accommodation offerings at Sweetacres Hunter Valley (formerly known as Billabong Moon) located on famed Hermitage Road, Rothbury. True to its name, this cottage is nestled amongst a woodland of native casuarina trees. Perfect for up to four guests, this modern, self-contained cottage has 2 bedrooms both with views through the French doors to the woodlands beyond, ensuites with bath and overhead fans as well as the added delight of an outdoor 4-person spa tub only footsteps from your room. Everything you would expect is catered to within the kitchenette with Nespresso coffee machine, an open plan living and dining room with Smart TV, air conditioning as well as a combustion wood-fire fireplace for cosy nights in. Dining outdoors is a treat under the covered BBQ dining area.

Woodlands Cottage at Sweetacres offers so much peace, relaxation, and enjoyment for guests onsite as well as being ideally located to take advantage of the many cellar doors, restaurants, attractions, and activities within moments of your cottage. Sample the delights of Hermitage Road and dine at Botanica, and Piggs Peake. Sample excellent food and brew at The Farm where you can horse ride, take a Segway tour, or meet the animals! Enjoy terrific hospitality whilst wine-tasting at neighbouring Hunter Wine Lab, Wombat Crossing, Thomas Wines, Ironbark Hill Brewhouse, Keith Tulloch or Tintilla. Wedding guests will love being only moments from signature reception venues including Enzo, The White Barn and Greystone Estate. Sweetacres is only 7 minutes’ drive to the Hunter Valley Gardens, The Vintage Golf Course, Roche, and Hope Estates as well as all food and wine delights of Hermitage, Broke and Deasys Roads.

For the active at heart, take a bush walk around Sweetacres’ walking tracks past the billabong and the casuarina woodlands or, wander across the lawn to enjoy The Deck leisure area or a dip in the refreshing shared Guest saltwater pool. You may also like to hire a bike and take the Hermitage Road cycle track to explore the best this destination has on offer.

Weekend - 2 night minimum up to 2 guests, $370 per night (Thu-Fri or Fri-Sat or Sat-Sun)
Midweek - 2 night minimum up to 2 guests, $316 per night (Mon-Thurs)
Extra adult guests are charged at $100 per person per night. 
Children aged between 2-13 years are charged at $64 per child per night. 
Infants under 2 are free. 

Please note that a $40.00 booking fee is applicable for all bookings made.

SECURITY DEPOSIT
A security deposit/bond of $400 is required for your stay and is payable as a credit card pre-authorisation. This will be processed approximately 24 - 48 hours before your arrival, so please ensure the funds are available at this time.

LONGER STAYS
Please contact us for a customised quote for longer stays of 3 nights and over.

NOTES
A 1-night stay may be accepted at discretion of Management within 14 days of the prospective arrival date. A surcharge is applicable on the 1-night stay, this will be calculated by our staff and quoted to you before the booking is confirmed.

Weekend Public Holiday, Easter, Christmas, and New Year periods require a minimum 3 night stay full weekend rate.

Concert and special event weekends in the Hunter Valley will have a set minimum night requirement to stay and may attract a surcharge.

Communication with property manager wasn’t great, it is a late check in and they were late giving the codes to the property as well. Spa was a bit grotty, could definitely use a good clean. House was nice but a bit dirty, bathrooms especially. Very impractical and uncomfortable dining chairs so we had to eat outside which one of the nights wasn’t ideal. Great location however, close to the main roads and popular wineries. Very quiet and serene house. Check out was 10am which seems odd given the late check in.
