The location of this unit is spectacular! The cliff ocean view, great restaurants, shopping in Solana’s design center and friendly neighbors.Specifically, our townhouse had very upscale decor, had everything you needed, and was very clean.

Great Location

The condo was great and filled with all we needed to make it feel like home. The kitchen was fully stocked, there were a few toys for the kids and beach items for the short walk to the beach. Great cliff overlook for sunsets and only a few steps from the beach! Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Family vacay

We stayed in this condo on a family trip to California for National soccer playoffs. The condo was perfect - location on the beach, close to shops and restaurants and in a beautiful community. Condo was well equipped and perfect space for a family!

Great stay by the beach

This was an awesome condo three bedroom two and a half bath near the beach. Everything positive to say about this unit. The only thing that could be improved is somehow making it easier to walk all the way down to the garage and back up. I had to make six trips to my car and it was a lot.

There was a water leak in a wall. A plumber was sent within a day. Numerous lights had burnouts. A window had a plastic sheet over it. A sink spray handle became stuck in the open position.

A good week over the holidays

We had a nice family stay here. There we five of us. The listing is very accurate. Quiet neighborhood, safe, walking distance to food/shopping. Some useful additional detail: 1. The parking us underneath the units so you walk outside and up stairs to the unit. Not too bad of a walk but note there is no elevator (as mentioned in the listing). 2. The upstairs bedroom is very open on top so light sleepers might be disrupted by someone up early having breakfast in the nearby kitchen. 3. It mentions the property is on the cliff so prepare for dozens of steps (50?) to the beach.

Reviewer Comments: Fantastic location and the unit has a lot of space.Would be cautious recommending this unit to anyone who has mobility concerns - awkward step down/step up layout in the kitchen/living room area that can be easy to fall if not watching. They put colored tape all over to alert you, but just is a bit odd.Also, unit could use some general straightening & TLC. Old comforters thrown haphazard in closet and messy stacks of random linens. Some of furniture is a bit beat up.

Really great place!

At first, I was a little hesitant about renting this condo after reading a couple of not so great reviews. Let's get this out of the way first...if you are looking for perfection, this is not the place for you. What *we* found was a very comfortable, relaxing place. The pool and jacuzzi at night were almost magical. The short, barefoot walk to the overlook to see the sunset was fabulous. It was everything we needed while we got our twins moved in to UCSD. The location was great. All amenities and great food a short drive away. To note: the AC is only on the top floor. The two bedrooms are downstairs and were really stuffy when we got there. There are decorative ceiling fans that didn't do much. I had to borrow a fan from my sister before I remembered that opening up the windows every night to cool off is definitely needed. Some fixtures are older, but still work. So not perfection for everybody, but it was great for us!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The people at Stubbs were very kind, professional, and helpful. I have no issue with them, but the owner needs to make some repairs on the property. The washing machine doesn’t work. It only adds an inch of water, which means the clothes don’t get wet or clean. Same issue with the dishwasher, items are not getting clean, nor does the dish tab dissolve. There were a couple of visibly dirty items in the drawers when we arrived. We rewashed everything. There were only two beach/pool towels for 4 people and one bath towel per person. No board games or cards. Maybe the management agency can make suggestions to the owners for improving these issues. The condo itself is nice with nice furniture and the location is terrific. Unfortunately the heated pool is not actually heated.

Better than expected, will come back!

We enjoyed our stay of 7 nights as a family of 6 people! The cottage claims for 5 but there is plenty of space for 2 adults in the huge master bedroom which can easily welcome a pack-n-play, and for our 4 kids! 2 of them were sharing the queen bed with an independent bathroom, while our 2 youngest were sharing the double twin bed in the office room upstairs. Everyone slept really well in this quiet environment. We found everything we needed to enjoy the heated swimming pool, the beach, with beach toys and beach boards available as well. We could enjoy a tennis but we did not plan on that as we were out everyday to visit as much as possible! The safari zoo is at about 20 mn from the cottage, downtown/airport is also at about 25 mn from that place. We were happy to go to Joshua Tree National Park which is at about 2H30 from here. Mission Bay is 25 mn away, and we watched dolphins and whales from there! This was by far our best family vacation! Also I appreciated the well organization for us to pick up our keys at our late arrival (midnight) and the convenient drop off at our early departure (4:30am). A little note however about the cleanliness: it was not really clean under the beds, in the kitchen drawers (food pieces), and the dishes were not fully clean. I had to rewash some pots and pans as well as the blender that I needed! But I was super happy to find so many pans, pots, large dishes, a blender, microwave, coffee machine, wine glasses, wine and beer opener, a grill, and everything you need to cook and bake during the stay! Thank you! The only thing we did not find was the umbrella, which was needed by the sunny days we had to stay on the patio.

Great Location in Solana

Overall, we loved our stay here. I lived in PB/La Jolla for 15+ years and this area is great and much more low key/quiet. Listing is pretty accurate with only the pictures of the patio/grill being a bit off base. Nothing major, e.g. the wood is much more worn, but the property is within 50 yards of the ocean on top of the bluff so that is expected. Different but comparable grill. I recommend this place and would stay again.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We arrived late in the evening to our condo and upon arrival found clean sheets and clean smelling bathrooms but there was a layer of dust on everything. The furniture is a bit lived in, the pots and pans were scratched and in pretty terrible condition. Kitchen items old.The coffee maker was well used and stained dirty. Multiple light bulbs out throughout the house. The furniture and rugs had some stains. It truly looked like someone lived there at some point before our stay. To say the least, we were a bit disappointed. The saving grace was the location to the beach and pool. Contacted Stubbs, not very helpful. After asking for a relocation within the area, they had nothing, so we were stuck. Asked for at least our cleaning deposit back, wouldn’t do it. They said they would have it cleaned for us later in the week. We asked for new pots and pans and a new coffee maker and after some discussion they sent those over. We had a fantastic week in Solana Beach and ended up enjoying our time near the beach and pool, despite the rocky start with the condo and rental company.

The owner puts great care into her home and purchases quality items from West Elm, Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, etc., including high-end custom items like chandeliers and throw blankets. Our team inspected the property prior to your arrival and noted that it was cleaned meticulously. Per your request, we sent our housekeeper out again to touch up and clean carpet. Additionally. we delivered a new coffee maker, new shower liner, new hairdryer, a new barbecue brush, and new pots and pans to replace ones that were only a year old. As one of our top booked properties with excellent reviews, it's surprising that you had so many issues with this beautiful property.
