Luxury house with pool, direct beach & jetty access, stunning 270° sea view
ABSOLUTE WATER FRONTAGE with panoramic 270 degree views of the Adriatic sea, private heated pool and direct beach access through the gardens. Spacious villa is located at tip of a peninsula surrounded by lush green pine forests. A large pool deck area surrounding a solar heated pool with in-built spa, having magnificent sea views is perfect for those tranquil Mediterranean afternoons and long evenings. Beautiful landscaped Med. gardens lead directly to a jetty and secluded beach ideal for swimming and sunbathing. Front and side covered terraces, perfect for alfresco dining or just relaxing while enjoying the magnificent sea views. 4 bedrooms all with sea views, large lounge room with a feature fireplace, modern kitchen and combined dining room. Fully equipped, all mod cons. The nearest shops and restaurants are in Vela Luka, only 10 km away.
HOW TO GET THERE Villa Katy is only 9.5 km away from Vela Luka, or about 40 km from Korcula town. The most convenient airports are those in Dubrovnik and Split. In order to make the most of your trip, we recommend hiring a car - all the main car hire companies have desks at Dubrovnik and Split airports.
SEAPLANE CONNECTION The fastest option is to fly to Split airport and then take a seaplane from Split Downtown to Vela Luka (16 minutes trip). For more information please see: http://www.ec-air.eu/en/timetable#type_split. Once you arrive to Vela Luka, villa Katy is 9.5 Km way.
FERRY CONNECTION There are also regular ferry services between Split and Vela Luka or from Dubrovnik to Korcula town. a) Flying to Split: a car ferry from Split to Vela Luka goes twice a day, it takes about 2.5 hours to get to Vela Luka (Korcula). b) Flying to Dubrovnik: if you choose to fly to beautiful, medieval Dubrovnik you can drive to Orebic town (on the Peljesac peninsula), where the local ferry to Korcula goes every 30 minutes. It takes only 15 minutes to cross from Orebic to Domince port (Korcula).
The Split option is easier, but Dubrovnik is a more scenic trip. Once you arrive to Vela Luka, Villa Katy is only a short 15 minute drive from the town centre.
ISLAND OF KORCULA - DETAILS The island of Korcula has many little inlets with pebbled beaches that provide you with a warm and tranquil atmosphere. Korcula is one of the most wooded islands on the Adriatic. It is a typical Mediterranean area with various sorts of flora: cypress, pine, olive, oak, and myrtle. Indigenous herbs and aromatic plants also grow on the island: sage, rosemary, lavender, mint, marjoram etc. The old Roman version of the name Korcula was Corcyra Nigra, the ancient Greek version was Corcyra Melaina, both names refer to the dense pine-woods of the island. One French aphorism says that 'A day without wine is like a day without sunshine'. Sun and wine have always been connected in the history of Korcula. Due to the Mediterranean sunshine, Korcula and Peljesac wines have a specific quality and aroma. The ancient Greeks who founded their colony Corcyra Melaina not only established a commercial and cultural center but also planted vines which have since produced wines esteemed all over the world.
OLD KORCULA TOWN - DETAILS Korcula Old Town is a medieval walled city positioned on a oval-shaped swelling of land pointing deep into Peljesac Channel. The city itself is arranged with a succession of narrow streets branching off the spine of the main street like the bones of a fish. The town of Korcula is well known for Moreska – a traditional sword dance and drama that was common through out the Mediterranean in 12th and 13th century, reaching Korcula in 16th century from Italy and Dubrovnik. The golden period for Korcula was between the 13th and 15th centuries, when the old town's present form was acquired through the construction of important buildings; most of these can still be seen today. It was during this period that the Venetians left its distinctive mark on Korcula’s culture and architecture, which has been well preserved for future generations.

We stayed for 1 week in July.. A family group of 7. The location of the villa couldn’t be better - a stunning bay with crystal clear water, very safe for children. There are two kayaks with life jackets for the kids and they loved paddling over to the other side of the bay and snorkelling. The eating area is simply stunning - the perfect spot for breakfast or a lazy dinner. The pool is small but with great views. The two outdoor power showers were excellent. Katy and Tonci had arranged for a local man to bring us groceries each morning so we barely had to leave the villa. The short taxi ride to Vela Luka is so easy and the little town is charming. We had some super dinners, linches and insane ice creams at Diana! This place is a real treat in every way.

Near paradise
The seclusion, tranquility and peace that you recieve staying here is amazing. Only 10 minutes from a lovely town with nice restaurants and shops, whilst still leaving you with the feeling that you could be on a private island. We loved the villa and Katy is wonderful, she even baked us a cake and brought us fresh figs. The views are spectacular and private yachts seem to find the location amazing also as they anchor in the bay, which leads you to wonder who is the luckier person. We loved it and can't recommend it enough. The only downside was that the whole of Croatia seems to be infested with wasps and these can be a bother when you are trying to eat or drink outdoors, but this seemed true of the whole Dalmatian Coast. If you want tranquility and a fabulous villa in a stunning location, with great food and wine nearby (by car), look no further, you will not be disappointed. Great value for money.

Perfect
Villa: Pretty, spacious and well equipped villa, really felt like home from home. Spotlessly clean and well maintained, enhanced by Katy's artistic touches.
Grounds: extensive landscaped gardens, choice of terraces, balconies and tranquil spots, beautiful pool area, outside showers, fab BBQ. Add a private mooring jetty and beach area, complete with sun beds and kayak..what more can you want?
Setting: on a small headland commanding 270 views of the beautifully tranquil, wooded bays and islands out to sea. Breathtakingly gorgeous.
Service: nothing is too much trouble for Katy and her family. Its her home as well as her business.
Local Area: Pretty Vela Luka 10mins away by car, Supermarket on the outskirts. Don't miss the daily fish/produce market. Ask if you can't find it! Everyone speaks English and people are v friendly. Car hire and taxi companies couldn't be more helpful. Ferries from Vela Luca to Hvar, Split etc.
Plenty of restaurants/bars . Try "Bata" restaurant for excellent local food.
Korcula town ("little Dubrovnic" definitely worth a visit) is at the opposite end of island, we found it quite a trip by boat and went by car the second time, which was quicker!
Proizd island with its white pebbles and crystal water is a short boat ride away
Tips:
The mooring at Villa Katy has a lazy line, so you don't need to worry about dropping an anchor.
If you are waterskiing from Villa Katy make sure you stay at least 200m from the shore for safety of any swimmers and so as no to disturb the "neighbours" (not may of those about!)
Friendly local families occasionally picnic/swim on the adjacent foreshore. The shoreline belongs to Croatia, so they are entitled to do so but they are very careful not to wander onto private land, and are absolutely no trouble.
We drove a charter boat from Split to Korcula this year but it was 3.5hrs each way and guzzled so much fuel. Next year we'll catch the sea plane (18minutes) to take the ferry is which is only £7 pp

Thank you for the wonderful review!
We greatly enjoyed having stay at the villa and we look forward to having you stay with us again next year.
All the best, Katy and Tonci
Our first trip to Croatia. Nature is stunning. Villa is beautiful and ideally positioned for breathtaking views. Being there out of season means that choice of restaurants and services are limited. But the gorgeous scenery makes up for that!

Echter Urlaub---2 wunderbare Wochen

It is truly paradise!!
My family spent one unforgettable week in this villa in September. We have traveled quite a lot and stayed in some pretty special places but this villa is situated right on the most pristine water giving an unbelievable experience! The owner thought of everything in the design of this home. The rooms were beautiful and fully equipped. We spent most of our time outside in the gazebo and on the terrace overlooking the most beautiful turquoise water! I cannot say enough great things about this villa. It is in a perfect location, perfectly maintained and only steps away from the beach. It is truly paradise!! We shall be back. Highly recommended!

Lovely villa, stunning setting!
We can only agree with the majority of the reviews already written that this is a superb holiday villa. The villa was comfortable, spacious and well-equipped. The amazing view from the villa and the pool will stay forever in our memory. All in the house was perfect and absolutely comfortable. Since we rented a car, we also visited nearby towns including enchanting Dubrovnik. We had a very relaxing holiday, only too short! Thank you Katy also for the delicious cake made our leaving a little bit sweeter.

We had a wonderful time here, the villa and location was fantastic for sightseeing and relaxing which was exactly what we wanted from our holiday. The villa was very specious and clean and set in lovely grounds right next to the sea. The planting around the house is beautiful, it's so quiet it feels like your own secret hideaway. We soon established a daily ritual, of a morning dip in the sea followed by breakfast on the terrace… leaving us to decide whether to relax by the pool or venture out to discover new beaches and seaside villages...then finishing off each evening with meal of freshly caught fish and some local wine on the dining terrace and perhaps one more dip in the pool.
We shall be back - thank you Katy and Tonci.

Awesome Croatian Island experience
Our two weeks-long stay at this villa was the best part of our 3 week visit to Croatia. The villa was absolutely lovely. The view was spectacular. The waterfront location was close to everything you needed or wanted to do, and the property and situation of the villa provided a sense of privacy and serenity unequaled by any vacation property we have ever rented.
The villa and the setting were perfectly married, an ideal property by the sea. The view from the property was expansive and idyllic. The villa is fully equipped with even a microwave, free wifi, and an outdoor BBQ make it feel like home.
We particularly liked the serenity and just being able to watch the occasional yacht drifting silently across the bay was truly wonderful. The large shady front terrace and the gazebo area outside was a real bonus allowing us to cool off after baking round the poolside! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this villa. Thanks for a brilliant time.

perfect holiday in wonderful Villa Katy
We have just returned from a perfect holiday in wonderful Villa Katy, which is one of the best villas we have ever stayed in. We spent most of our time relaxing by the lovely pool or eating/drinking on the splendid terrace. The kids also enjoyed the spacious outdoor areas where they could play.
The spectacular location are quite literally breathtaking and will live long in our memories.
The owner was easy to contact and helpful both before we arrived and during the stay.
I could not recommend this villa highly enough.

Great holiday, superb location
When we arrived at Villa Katy we were pleased by the beauty of location of the house. The location does not get better then this. Peaceful and calm atmosphere combined with the fantastic views, takes away all motivation to go somewhere else. We lounged to take in the sun, swam in both the pool and the beach at the base of the property, and we even took the kayaks out a couple of times. This was definitely one of our favorite family vacations, and we'd recommend it to anyone we know.

Beautiful and unspoilt
This really proved to be wonderful holiday. The island is beautiful and unspoilt, and the people, without exception, friendly and helpful. It is beautifully furnished with everything you could possibly wish for, all top quality! We have visited so many villas where the owners have just spent the minimum possible...but not this one. The description is accurate. The views are stupendous. If you rented a villa with views like this in the South of France it would cost ten times more. The locality was just right for us. There were some lovely restaurants in Vela Luka serving traditional croatian dishes and seafood. Undoubtedly the best thing is direct access to the sea for swimming, kayaking or to simply to lounge and watch the ocean. Overall this is a charming place and perfect for a relaxing holiday.

Beautiful and peaceful
Six of us stayed for a week at Villa Katy, it was truly amazing from start to finish. It villa was spotless, huge, modern and had all the amenities you could possibly want. The best part was the villa's great locaton with the stunning views overlooking the water. Our host was incredibly helpful and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived until we left a week later.

Stanning location and great service
Surrounded by huge gardens and located right on the tip of point of the bay Villa Katy is the ideal spot for sun and sea lovers holiday. You can lounge around, explore the gardens or take a dip in the ocean, all the time with seclusion and privacy. When we where the in October, the heated pool was a pleasant alternative for the children.
The house has been recently tastefully refurbished with a thoroughly modern decor throughout and I particularly loved the shower panel with jet massage.
The owner was very helpful and friendly.
Overall we had a great time and would recommend this place to everyone.

A sublime holiday
Yes - the villa interior is a little dated but the rooms are comfortable and the kitchen (the only room you are likely to spend anytime in) is spacious and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and the ceiling fans do a good job of keeping you cool.
What this villa really specialises in is outdoor space. Here there can be few equals. Sitting on a small headland between two bays, the villa is flanked on two sides by water and so affords fantastic views from almost every angle. The gardens are verdant and colourful, with plenty of places to pull up a chair or hammock and escape from city stress (or the rest of your party). The jetty provides a great fishing and swimming spot and the newly built swimming pool will provided another great seating area when opened.
The Villa sits at the far end of Korcula island and sights are very limited. This is a spot to wind down in - not to tick off sights. Vela Luka (15 mins drive) has a pretty harbour front with good restaurants and a direct car ferry to Split. There is also a basic taverna within walking (3 mins) distance of the villa.
Katy was an efficient and obliging host and the homemade cake a real treat. A truly special spot and one which the 8 of us would gladly return.
Go - but don’t tell anyone else about it!

Overpriced
We stayed here at the start of the season and in May/ June and found the description accurate but this is definitely NOT a luxurious villa. The furniture is jaded 1950's, bathrooms are tiny, master bath is on ground floor and next to it another tiny bathroom while 4 bedrooms are upstairs and share one tiny bathroom. Mattresses are old, not very comfortable and bedding is also 1950's. The villa could use some modernizing. The balconies have wonderful views but the windows are small so the view can only really be optimized from outside.
But this is not a villa that one visits for the inside - the outdoors is spectacular though very cold when it is windy as it is exposed out on a peninsula - faces southeast so sun sets behind mountains. Outdoor furniture has seen better days and the villa we found in comparison with other places on the island of Korcula to be very over priced.
The dishwasher did not work and the safe broke. The tiny pool was under construction at the time of our visit. Instructions on how to operate things were not given. There is no parking except outside the villa on dirt.
The property was clean. Limited old towels were provided until we asked for more. However, absolutely no staples were provided and we had to ask for salt, pepper, dish washer detergent etc. The door to the laundry room was locked and we were not given a key.
Customer service was patchy. Although broken things were fixed, it was by no means immediate. I would guardedly recommend the property during July - September only and for families or those who are not seeking above an average property. Most restaurants and activities were closed as the start of June was not yet season. The villa is isolated at the end of a dirt road.
Response from VrboOwner on 24 Mar 2020
We are sorry that the weather was not great; this was unusual this time of year, normally you can expect a pleasant temperature from 23 to 28 ºC (73.4 ºF - 82.4 ºF).
As per usual, the laundry key and staples are provided, however the issues seem to be around using them. As were the issues with the dishwasher and safe – once reported they were checked within 12 hours and found to be fully functional. Based upon this experience, we are going to write a detailed house manual.
We are somewhat surprised about the comments regarding the outdoor furniture, as it is Dedon brand purchased only last year.
As stated, we do provide accurate house description and the photographs are genuine.
It is true that the pool is not complete; however we are not advertising its availability nor is it reflected in the price. The pool is scheduled for the 2011 season.

A very special place
Spent two weeks here mid September 2009 with my partner and I cannot recommend the property highly enough.
A truly adorable villa in the most amazing location. The views are to die for. Spent ages searching the internet for a house with private sea access and managed to find that, and a whole lot more! The little private beach and jetty is where we spent most of our time. The kayaks are great, allowing you to explore all the nearby bays and see the amazing Korculan coastline from the best possible vantage point. Have never seen such clean, clear and inviting water in Europe before!!!!!! It's more like the Caribbean!
The house has all the facilities anyone could possibly need and is very comfortable. Most of our time was spent outside though! Numerous terraces and dining areas provide a perfect setting for any mood or occasion, day and night!
The pretty town of Vela Luka is nearby and has basic shops and supermarkets as well as some nice simple bars and restaurants that are very good value for money. Overall a perfect holiday hideaway. We were looking for a beautiful quiet environment to relax and do very little and that is exactly what we found.
And last but not least, there is the lovely Katy! A truly wonderful lady and the perfect host. She was very helpful if needed but never intruded on our holiday. And the daily gifts of homemade cakes and fresh figs were much appreciated!!!!!
Have rebooked the villa for a month next year. Enough said!

Beautiful hiding place
Very nice location with an owner you would wish to have as your aunt (very kind with great cake creation abilites...:-)).
It is so peaceful and cosy, that in the end we did not have the planned excursions we wanted just stay there, swim, eat, enjoy the garden and do not think about the outside world.
Beautifully set spacious villa, with balconies, so that you have al fresco breakfast, lunch, dinner, all with different settings as the sun moves.
Well equipped kitchen, sitting room, bathrooms. You would not need anything else. The villa's ventillation, setting and the garden's microclimate is such, that we did not switch on the aircon. And it was a hot August...
Just lovely. Briefly: the kids only very few times really wanted to get back to the same place for the summer holidays. And they spent summers in Greece, Sardinia, Portugal, Austria, you name it....This case we did not leave the villa yet, and they banged on my head to book it for the next summer as well (which we did).
Katy - lives in Croatia, takes care of the villa. Tonci - lives in Australia, manages customer correspondence.
Why they chose this property
The entire estate is surrounded by private gardens filled with the scent of lavender, rosemary, jasmine, oleander and features an architecturally designed swimming pool with in-built spa having majestic sea views.
The private pool (solar heated) and gazebo are not shared with any anybody else, you will have exclusive access giving you complete privacy.
The gardens cascade down to the waters edge along a stone pathway via a series of terraced flower beds, with steps leading you down to the sea where there is a little pebble beach and jetty suitable for sunbathing and swimming for all ages.
What makes this property unique
Welcome to the most southern part of Croatia, probably the most beautiful area of whole Adriatic coast. The regional centre of this area is Dubrovnik, included on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
The Mediterranean climate, crystal clear sea, tranquil inlets, coves and breathtaking sea views allows you to experience peaceful and relaxing holiday. If you are a relaxed traveller looking for a quiet getaway, it's possible to soak up the sun on some of Croatia's most beautiful beaches.
The closeness of the Dalmatian islands allows you to easily visit and explore them all.
The island of Korcula has a city called Korcula that is the historical heart of the island. Korcula old town became a small town fortress during the 13th century. Highly elevated churches and houses and a wall around the city deterred many invaders during the middle ages. The largest and most breathtaking building is St. Marco Cathedral which is the premier point on the island.
