About this property
Luma Hvar ✶ Premium Beachfront House ✶
A stunning location on one of Hvar’s most spectacular stretches of coastline, Luma Hvar occupies an enviable position indeed. With its elegant interiors, spectacular views, direct sea access, and walking distance to the village’s cafes and minimart, Luma Hvar offers the perfect balance for many of our guests. The delightful long, tiered garden opens out onto the shoreline, allowing you to move from deck-lounging to sea-swimming in just a few carefree flip-flop steps.
Accommodation at Luma Hvar is laid out over two floors. The main entrance door is at the side of the house down a short staircase, and opens into a bright entranceway leading to an open-plan living area and kitchen. The living area is furnished with a sofa to one side and the fully-equipped kitchen features a gorgeous stone worktop.
Wide, wood-framed harmonica-style glass doors in the centre of the living area bring in the sea views and allow you to step out onto the shaded, roofed dining terrace and the tiered garden with ease. Another door near the far side of the kitchen, at the end of the entrance hallway, provides access to the rear terrace, where you’ll find a large barbecue grill perfect for preparing al fresco meals. There is also a downstairs bathroom with a shower just off the entrance hallway.
Back in the main living space, a staircase leads upstairs, which hosts four bedrooms positioned in a circular layout around the hallway. There are two double bedrooms that face the sea and feature glass doors that open out onto a gorgeous seaview upper terrace – the perfect place for morning coffee.
The large main bathroom upstairs connects to the third double bedroom, which faces the opposite direction. The fourth and final bedroom is a small bunk bedroom that is adjoined to the third bedroom, but can also be accessed independently via the hallway. You will also find an additional WC located off the upstairs hallway.
Let’s head back outside. Luma Hvar boasts a sizeable, tiered seafront garden and offers plenty of possibilities for al fresco living. Much of this space is shaded and there are two dining areas and plenty of seating for those who wish to gaze out to sea or settle down with a book. Steps lead down from the dining area to the deck, complete with sun loungers and shaded by Mediterranean pine. Steps continue to lead down, past the outdoor shower for after your swim, closer to the sea, until you reach the threshold at the end of the garden to access the transparent waters of the Adriatic.

Why they chose this property
Ivan Dolac is a serene coastal village, offering stunning natural beauty, clear waters, and a relaxed atmosphere. Situated on a slope with breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea, it's known for its picturesque pebble beaches and secluded coves, ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and water sports. The village's unique location and scenic sunsets make it a perfect spot for a tranquil getaway.
Getting to Ivan Dolac can be an adventure, whether by boat or car. If arriving by boat, visitors can dock at the nearby marina in Sveta Nedjelja, though it's advisable to check weather conditions due to exposure to southern winds. By car, travellers can take ferries to Sućuraj or Stari Grad and enjoy scenic drives to the village, passing through the historic and unlit Old Tunnel of Hvar, which will definitely make your journey more memorable.
In Ivan Dolac, visitors can embrace a laidback lifestyle, explore nearby attractions, or go on day trips. The neighbouring settlement of Sveta Nedjelja offers experiences like visiting Red Rocks, Zlatan Otok winery, and Cliffbase. The island of Šćedro, accessible from the neighbouring village of Zavala, boasts historical sites, diving spots, and semi-abandoned villages. Humac, a nearby village, offers guided walks, cave explorations, and a unique dining experience at Konoba Humac. For a livelier atmosphere, Jelsa provides cultural and entertainment options, including bars, art galleries, and fine dining.
Despite its small size, Ivan Dolac has essential amenities including a minimart, a fruit and veg stall during the summer, several coffee bars lining the waterfront and a few restaurants. Dining options now include the newly opened Restaurant Spila, Restaurant Rot for traditional Dalmatian dishes, and Šanpjerin Beach Bar for drinks in an elevated yet relaxed setting. Visitors can savour local wines, seafood, and the slow-paced lifestyle, making Ivan Dolac a delightful destination on Hvar.
