Lovely, cozy place. Neighborhood is quiet and just a short walk to restaurants and groceries. Worked great for us as a base camp to return after a day hiking and leaf peeping. Would very happily stay here again the next time we visit the area.

Perfect place to stay with friends and family for an extended weekend to enjoy some hiking and cross country skiing. The 2 unit setup was ideal for vacationing with friends, yet having some privacy for the family. The host was very kind and responsive. I highly recommend!
We had a wonderful stay! Perfect location, plenty of room for all of us. Very clean with plenty of amenities. Highly recommend and hope to be back soon!
We had a great stay here. The location was close to great outdoor adventures, ice-cream and good food. The home was clean, quiet and comfy. The hosts were very attentive. We felt at home and appreciated a nice safe, soft place to land after exploring the beautiful area!
This was my second stay at Ed and Stephanie's place, and I'll certainly return. Very cozy and convenient for all Canaan Valley activities. Beds are super comfortable and the kitchen is extremely well equipped. Highly recommended!
Very quiet location. Just a few blocks to the main commercial strip in Davis. Easy drive to ski resorts and Blackwater Falls state park.
Kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, toaster, blender, microwave, knives, etc. Bring your own peeler and veggie brush though. They also provide a Keurig machine with pods (I didn't try any though).
Charcoal grill is available. There was fresh charcoal available but just a little bit of lighter fluid left which we used up the first night.
The house is actually a duplex; one apartment each side. We could barely hear the family next door. Parking is available on the street without restrictions.
Plenty of towels and washcloths available. Very strong water pressure and water can be very hot if you aren't careful.
Cleanliness of kitchen was good but the wall to wall rugs could use a deep clean so bring your house shoes. Bedroom bureaus were dusty on top and should probably be replaced due to poor condition.
It's usually 5-10 degrees cooler in Davis than the DC area with less humidity so A/C isn't needed at night most of the time. That said, a heat wave came through when we were there and it was uncomfortably hot. Fans are provided but the window screens have multiple holes so mosquitoes and moths got in.
It was a nice stay but a little overpriced once you factor in all of the add on fees and compare this place against competitors. We decided on the trip last minute so didn't have many options since everything was booked for the holiday week. It was nice being able to cook our own meals and not stay in a hotel. I'd stay here again but would see if I could find better value for money elsewhere first.
Owner communication was good; responsive and very nice.
Unit is cozy, right right for 2 friends. The kitchen is decorated with Coca-Cola design, even glasses, quite a nice touch! I hope to stay here again in the spring to see wildflowers in Dolly Sods. The owner was very responsive, also a plus.
Our little family had a wonderful weekend! Ed and Stephanie are amazing hosts and the house was perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed. Very walkable town and close to the ski resorts! We will definitely come back again!
We really enjoyed our stay in Unit 1! Such a warm, welcoming, cozy place. The beds are fabulous and the kitchen is very well equipped (we enjoyed using all, and I mean all, of the bowls). There are comfortable places for people to come together (living room, large kitchen table), but enough space to spread out and be alone. The location is perfect for accessing downtown Davis and driving to Thomas and places in Canaan Valley. We were three adult women on a hiking/biking weekend getaway, and we will definitely return!!
This cozy home checked off all of our travel boxes and then some. The location couldn't have been any better for day trips or the close proximity to strolling in to town for a cold libation or a yummy ice cream treat. Plenty of restaurants close to chose from even in these current Covid conditions. The kitchen in our unit 2 was my favorite. Loved the retro vibe and it was a FULLY stocked. Our bed was a lovely comfortable place to lay our weary heads and sore muscles after hiking and exploring. I must say if you are in the area and have the time, take one of the Cass Scenic Rail tours, we had the best time and if it's still summer, there is a wonderful watering hole to spend the day floating below Seneca Rocks. Just perfect. Thank you goes out to Ed for his lovely home and for ease of communication throughout this whole process. We can't thank you enough for your hospitality. Cheers, Lisa and Harry
We had a great experience staying here. It's a short walk to the main drag in Davis which is nice to grab a bite to eat or a beer at Stumptown. Ed was super responsive when I had questions. The bed was so comfy, too. We'd stay here again if we needed a place to stay in Davis.
The place had everything we needed and we like that fresh drinking water was provided. The location was convenient to the shops and restaurants in Davis. Ed and Stephanie were very easy to communicate with. I would give this VRBO a grade A. :)
Perfect location, great owner, very flexible with check in/check out. Thank you!

We had a lovely weekend in Davis. This house is within walking distance of town, which has some great places to eat (we went to Hellbenders Burritos, Muttleys, Bright Morning inn, Wicked Wilderness Pub). Close to Blackwater Falls and Thomas.

Perfect home for our family
My family and I stayed at this cozy and charming home for a long weekend. It was exactly what we needed. The location was within walking distance to Davis, which has several restaurants, ice cream, and a brewery. Thomas is very close as well, which allowed us to visit our favorite place, the Purple Fiddle, many times. Beds were comfortable and plenty of towels were available. The kitchen had everything you could need. There was a slight issue with the bathroom, but it was handled promptly and Ed was extremely responsive and apologetic. Great place to stay!

very comfortable and quiet in convenient location
This small rental suited our needs just fine. we were in the area to do some hiking and looking at real estate in the valley. It was great to be able to walk into town for meals and shopping. The street is quiet and we enjoyed a very nice fire in the pit out back. thanks very much.

Great stay in Davis!
We rented this property for four nights for a lovely mini-vacation at the Canaan Mountain Bike Festival. This was a perfect spot, as we hardly touched the cars after arriving. It is super convenient if you want to stroll through town We visited some of our local favorites- Hellbenders, Stumptown Ales, Bright Morning Inn for breakfast, and the ice cream shop. It is also very convenient for hitting the trails for hiking or biking. The house was clean, and fit the on-line description. It felt like home and was very comfortable. We cooked several meals, and the kitchen was equipped with all we needed. We also really enjoyed the yard out back- what a peaceful place to kick back and relax. The owner was very helpful and accommodating- it was very nice of them to be flexible with arrival and departure times. We hope to return again soon!
