About Maria Johnston
We moved to Port Macquarie in 2015 when we purchased the church as we were looking for a quieter lifestyle. We have made some wonderful friends and when grandkids visit, the house comes alive.
Maria Johnston purchased this House in 2015
Why Maria Johnston chose Rawdon Island
My partner and I purchased the delipidated church over 3 years ago and have lovingly restored her to her former glory. We had looked for a project for many years and people were hesitant to take on the church as it was in such poor condition and virtually falling down. We loved every minute of returning the church to its former glory and want to share the beautiful cottage with people. We have a young boy on the island who loves photography and he has taken many photos of the renovations. He had the photos made into a book and presented it to us last Christmas. It was such a beautiful thought and the book now sits in the church for all to see.
What makes this House unique
The beauty of the area is something I have never experienced and never thought I would find in my lifetime. Still, after three years, when I drive up to the cottage I am in awe of its beauty. The church brought us back to life as much as we brought the church back to life.

No candles, except birthday candles are to be lit in the church as it is 114 years old and solid wood. Thank you for your co-operation.
Please check shoes before going into house to make sure no little stones from the driveway are caught in your soles as they will scratch the floor

Holy Moly, it is great
Mike and Maria have done such a good job of making a beautiful home away from home. The home is very well equipped and location is fantastic for exploring the Port Macquarie and Wauchope area.
Lovely break from reality
My husband and I had a really relaxing break in this beautiful property.
Everything about the property is quality. The bed was comfy, the lounges also and the kitchen was well stocked which made it easy to entertain friends.
We had a really lovely break in this beautiful property.
We look forward to the next time we can get away.
Thank you to you both 😊

Little Blue Church
The Little Blue Church exceeded all expectations, Maria was very pleasant and gave us excellent service. The Little White Church was situated in beautiful quiet surroundings. The furnishings were of an excellent quality, and everything that we needed was provided. We had a lovely time and wished we could have stayed longer. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area and highly recommend it to family and friends.
Beautiful restored old church
Unique property that was enjoyable to stay in and not far from Port Macquarie.
So glad you enjoyed the property. We would love to see you back in the future. Safe travels
An absolute find!
We all loved this beautifully restored timber church. It was surprisingly spacious with 3 very comfortable bedrooms. Tastefully furnished and a great selection of breakfast items included. We only wished we'd had more time to play on the lawn outside with our children. Next time we will stay for 2 nights atleast to soak up more of the tranquility that this place offers.
this is a fantastic little church. very comfortable and in a great quiet location. we meet other people there and had a great time. the church was beautifully decked out and extremely comfortable.
