Regular maintenance is missing, specially the sliding doors.
We had a very good contact with the owner, very gentle. He was taking notes about what needed to be done. He gave us lots of informations regarding the region and our location. There are three good restaurants on the site.

Relax and enjoy your stay!
A super nice home at Mirador San Jose. My family and kids had a fantastic time. The home is new and close to the beach. We were fortunate to observe some whales from the kitchen's window. The home has everything you need for a pleasant and comfortable stay. Everything stated in the site is accurate. I recommend this home to everyone.

Way better than we even thought it would be
While we were expecting a pleasant stay, the house is way better than it looks online. The pictures make the house look a little "orphaned" in the middle of nowhere. The reality is, the area is under construction and will look much more complete in the coming years. The house had a great little pool, and the air conditioning was complete and worked well. (these were issues brought up by earlier travelers, but they are no longer issues.).
We had to make a slight change to our schedule, and the owner was very accommodating and easy to deal with.
The beds were comfortable, the place was very clean. 5 stars across the board.

Beautiful house, very comfortable!
We spent a week at the house recently, and had a lovely stay. The house was impeccably clean, furnishings were comfortable and modern, and the kitchen was fully equipped with excellent pots, pans and implements. Did not have a dishwasher but it didn't prove to be too problematic, even for our family of 5. Kids LOVED the small pool out front, and the views were lovely to wake up to. The only slight negative was that it was HOT the week we were there (30-32C every day) and there were neither ceiling fans nor A/C.. so the house could really heat up in the late afternoon and evening. A portable fan or two would be a great addition. All in all, this is a lovely house, new and comfortable, and the beach is fantastic for kids and adults alike. A very enjoyable vacation!

We have noted your comments. We have a geothermal system in a trial phase. Unfortunately it was not working during your stay. Tests are currently made on the system. If that does not work well, we will install air conditioning systems. In any case we will install ceiling fans. Hope to see you soon.
2016-02-20 Update: Unfortunately the geothermal system does not give the desired performance. We finally installed standard air conditioning systems and ceiling fans.

ENGLISH We both travel lovers: North America, Europe, Latin America, Africa, Oceania. Asia is waiting for us. Sea kayak expeditions, cycling and pilgrimage of Saint Jacques de Compostela. We like to travel and get in touch with people: Inhabitants and travelers. A nice way to travel that we adopted several years ago is to combine travel and humanitarian aid. Guylaine When she was student, Guylaine left the university for 1 year to travel backpacking in Latin America. She always remembered Ecuador, its volcanoes' route, the coast and the Amazon. This true “gaspésienne” is a phys. ed. teacher at Cegep and a certified yoga teacher. Nothing more than a rejuvenating session of yoga on one of the villa terraces or on the beach.
André André, a civil engineer “saguenéen” by adoption (sorry, I was 1 year old when I arrived, so it does not count), is interested in cultures and languages ... and more. We can talk about politics, religion (caution on these 2 subjects), physics, environment, etc. A nice discussion on the sidewalk with an inhabitant of the country, what a pleasure!
Why they chose this property
ENGLISH We found Ecuador as an ideal place to reside. It's a little bit Costa Rica for the environmental awareness but with modern infrastructure (including roads). It is also a tropical country without cyclones. Cyclones and hurricanes are born at equatorial latitudes (coast of Africa or America), growing up to go further. It is also an economic stability as the country no longer has its own currency but uses the US dollar.
What makes this property unique
ENGLISH We built this villa with a few ideas in mind. We were looking for a home in the seaside with large and bright rooms, with the possibility of being in the sun or shade, in the wind or sheltered from it. A functional house in a peaceful environment and a secure site. A large beach nearby where you can swim or walk for hours. In a safe country, affordable, full of possibilities and sea landscapes, mountains, volcanoes and lush forest. Watching whales jumping in front of the house also has a charm added to the rest. For Guylaine, it is a suitable site for her practice of yoga and meditation.
