It was perfect for our needs.

It was perfect for our needs. The dining table was perfect for a large gathering. Bedrooms and bathrooms were ample and towels were plentiful. The hot tub was a wonderful feature after a hiking trek. The available appliances and housewares made food prep very convenient because we prepared our meals ourselves. The small airstrip behind the property created a "bonus" entertainment value whenever there was activity. Everything was as expected and communication was easy. I would have had more peace of mind if there was a phone number for immediate contact after hours, in case of emergencies, instead of a voicemail, though fortunately, that was not needed.

Listing is misleading

The good first: the location is close to blackwater falls and canaan. The neighborhood is safe and very quiet. The deck is nice and the hot tub was clean and hot. As to the listing: there is NO new furniture. Furniture is fine, but it's not new. Appliances are definitely not new. Jenn air cooktop, microwave and oven (early 90s). They did work. Most of the beds are on a frame with no headboard. Comforters are all old. Sheets and pillows were fine. Nothing to write home about. Coffee maker is new and nice. But it takes special large sized cone style filters- which would have been nice to know. There are 2 potholders and zero dish towels or dish rags. Random selection of cookware, if you need something special- bring it with you. There were plenty cups and dishes, no issue there. The house really sleeps 9 without putting anyone on a pull out couch- which is great for a large group. However the table only seats 6 so that's a little awkward for dinner time. Generally the house was fine. Its an older home and honestly needs a bit of organization and love. We did arrive to things in less than clean condition but that was due to lack of cleaning service and the owner made that right. I can't say what the bath towel situation should have been based upon that...there seem to be a whole bunch of random towels (we found in laundry room and closets) - not exactly sure where what belonged. Spare sheets, pillows and blankets were stuffed in closets. Hard to tell what went where. As said above...nice older house , sleeps a large group. Just not as expected based upon description.
