Most of our activities were around Boone but in different directions. The location of the rental worked out really well for us.

I’m a bit of a neat freak and I thought whoever cleaned could have done a better job. Trash behind the slide out garage can. Knife in sink. Only common surfaces dusted. Hall bathroom had mold in shower. Overall the place was nice. Weren’t there that much as we came to hike.
Took a quick trip to Boone to catch the Brad Paisley concert at Kidd-Brewer Stadium. The stadium was two miles from the cabin. The cabin was clean and very quiet. The photographs that decorate the cabin were very interesting. Alot of nostalgia is contained within this cabin. This would be a great place to rent in the fall on a football weekend at the rock.
Great location and very clean; but when we arrived, the home had a smell and the air conditioner was not turned on. The thermostat had a lock on it, so we could not adjust it. The property manager was helpful the next morning and turned the air conditioner on for us for the remainder of the stay. Also, if water pressure is important to you, then make sure your hair is washed before you travel here! This was not an issue for my bald partner, but there was no way I would be able to wash all my curly locks. Great quiet location. We enjoyed coffee and cocktails on the porch.

This is the first time we have had a complaint about water pressure. The cabin is on a well because it is outside the city limits. So water pressure will not be as strong as on a municipal system. But still more than adequate to wash one's hair. Thermostat: The AC was "on" but just not running. The previous guest wanted it at 73 and it did not get turned down until this renter asked. And we do not appreciate the comment about a "smell." That implies it was unpleasent. And that would be impossible.

Imaginary guests are best for this one
Working toward refund. Spiders (3 live ones found), webs in every corner of ceiling, mold in keurig's water filter, and more. Manager claimed was serviced day before. Pictures proved otherwise, not cleaned in long time. Did not stay. Manager blamed me and claimed we aren't truthful, stopped responding. Formally reported to VRBO.

This "review" is so false it does not really deserve a response. But since it was allowed to be posted, here we go...
This guy has issues having nothing to do with our property. Sometime during the night after check-in his "demons" appeared. We dispatched a crew early in the morning. Crew found no issues, not even the renter. That is because there were never any negative issues about the condition of the cabin to complain about. All of his baseless messages were answered promptly and courteously, as painful as that was.
We stand by our reputation. Read our reviews.
Unique mountain pad with so many beautiful little details.
This place is spectacular. So much love and thought put into it. Quiet serene setting and super convenient to App State campus. David is a super host, great communication and clear concise instructions. Thanks for sharing your sweet mountain place with us! We loved every minute and will come back in a heart beat.
Property was clean and just as described in listing. Lots of great historical memorabilia/photos in the house for my family from Boone to enjoy. Host responded promptly to questions before arrival and accessing the house was easy. This is a great place to stay if you are wanting to have easy access to Boone and the surrounding area.
Property was nice and conveniently located near downtown. The house was clean and comfortable. The manager was responsive when we asked about the heating. Bedding was comfortable and kitchen well-equipped.
The experience went well overall and the location was perfect for us to spend some time by Appalachian before moving my daughter into her dorm! Thanks!
Super cute place for a quick weekend trip. Easy check in and owner was very responsive on the couple of questions we had during our stay. House was clean, beds were comfy and plenty of box fans (which was great for white noise while sleeping!). Keurig was great for morning coffee on the deck. Thanks to COVID, we spent quite a bit of time hanging out at the house, which is super close to King Street and lots of great places to order take out. Parkway is also close, which was great for an afternoon outing. Thanks so much and would love to stay again next time we head up to Boone.
This is such a cool house! Really enjoyed our stay, and found it convenient to all we wanted to do on a App State game weekend. Stocked with everything you need, and lots of tiny extras - great rental!!
This was a return trip for us to this cabin that we absolutely love but had never been to in the summer. It was incredibly beautiful and green — we enjoyed the flowers and birds so much. It was magical to sit on the front deck and watch the fireflies glowing in the twilight. There was a lovely view of the mountains as the sun set to top it off. We had a wonderful time!
This was my second time staying in this home. I was there for a golf outing with my friends and we all enjoyed being there and will stay again the next time we are in the area should it be available. Home was clean and well equipped. Price was reasonable too.

Our family has been in Boone for 6 generations. We're kin to ol' Dan'l himself. You know, the guy that opened that family-style "Inn" downtown. Back then he served venison, hoecake, and Wild Turkey (that sounds like a winner!). Things sure have changed with the fried chicken and biscuits and all. But Boone is still our home. Until they run us out.
Why they chose this property
Why not? For 25 years the DA-JA View II was only available to family and friends. Then somebody (can't remember if it was Granny or one of the Cuz twins) said "Why don't we let some flatlanders enjoy this place?" We all shook our heads and here it is! It is not suitable for children or handicapped and we can't allow smoking, pets, or parties. But you'll enjoy staying here. Granny would be proud...
What makes this property unique
Have YOU ever stayed in an uber-casa? Well? Have you? Close to town but away from the crowds and traffic. Just a FUN place. We get lots of comments about the decor. You'll get a special kick out of it if you had Boone vacations as a child or attended ASU (or ASTC!). If you are a parent or grandparent of an App student, you will appreciate the short trip to campus. If you want snow sports, you can have the amenities of town apres ski. You can hike, bike, kayak, tube and still sleep in a great bed at night. There a plenty of vacation rentals in and around Boone. But there is only ONE Uber-Casa....
