This well kept, cozy and clean house is located 5 minutes from downtown Boone and all of its variety of dinner and shopping options. Spent weekend here during weather in the 20s and felt warm and comfortable. Easy to use wood burning fireplace, 2 walk out deck/porches allow for much entertaining with exceptional views. Owner/manager was great to communicate with and resolve any issues that may arise quickly. Highly recommend in summer or winter months.

We had a very relaxing time. There was enough space to have some privacy. We enjoyed cooking out with the grill and sitting on the deck. We also used the deck at night to play board games. We built a fire in the fireplace. We enjoyed the game table. We thought the decor was appropriate for a cabin in the woods. Thanks for the opportunity.
Nice, reasonably equipped cabin. We had a great time on our vacation.
The basement has lots of room with the extra bedroom and foosball table, laundry room with a sink and fridge, and the bathroom. Decent kitchen with quite a few but somewhat random pots and pans. The upstairs bedrooms are a bit cramped but lots of room elsewhere and very nice porches on the first two levels. The propane grill works but is not very even. There is a charcoal grill but it was so rusty I was afraid to use it.
The property manager was very easy to contact and helped us out when we ran into a bit of an emergency the day we were supposed to arrive.
A small warning that there is absolutely no sound isolation between any of the upstairs rooms. The basement bedroom is the only one with privacy.

Good, acceptable, but not great.
This was a good property, and we did like it…mostly. It’s close to downtown Boone, which is one of the best parts about it, in our opinion. But there are a few other things to consider if you are looking at this property for a stay.
1. It needs a really good cleaning/dusting for cobwebs, which were in abundance (especially on the 2nd floor). It wasn’t filthy or anything, just hadn’t been polished up in a while. There were little areas that hadn’t been touched in some time. It wasn’t disgusting or anything, just not what we’ve experienced in other well rated VRBO’s.
2. We were trying to get some work done (yes, I know, while on a short getaway. Please don’t judge too harshly.), and the Wi-Fi kept going out regularly. We were able to fix by unplugging the router and plugging it back in. If this isn’t a concern of yours, no worries.
3. Stay here for closeness to town and not seclusion. While it is a few hundred feet from the neighbors, you definitely know they’re there. A neighboring dog likes to bark most of the night, which kept us awake. Ear plugs solved the problem, and I certainly won’t hold the property owners accountable for someone else’s behavior. But again, just something to consider.
4. It’s tighter than it looks. The bathrooms and bedrooms are very utilitarian and functional, but I wouldn’t say my 6’-5” frame was able to stretch out. We definitely had some bumps on the head from the upstairs bedrooms.
All in all, it’s a 3-3.5 out of 5 stars for us. It is bad, but certainly doesn’t warrant the 4.5+ rating. But I truly hope our experience was the exception, and that if you and your family choose to stay, that it’s everything you could hope for and more.

A bit musty and dusty
While we enjoyed our stay, the cabin was musty and could have been cleaner, especially the porches. The firepit is located on a hill with a pitch so steep that it’s practically unusable. It’s also not particularly remote, as you can see 3 or 4 other cabins from the porch. Lamps were missing light bulbs and remote controls were without batteries. For the money, we expected better.
We stayed at this property to visit App State. This property location was very convenient and the Host was very helpful. I highly recommend this property. Great stay, we will definitely come back.
Quick trip to visit Ap State, great location, private without being to far from activities. House is laid out great if you are traveling with teens or young adults, private entrance and downstairs kitchen were a plus, great communication with the owner, everything you could ever need in the kitchen.
This house is awesome! Really close to everything in town. In a quiet neighborhood too. 3 couples, we all had our own floor. All the bedding was great. Will definitely go back there! House manager was great for quick communication.
This was our first visit to Boone, to drop off our child at college. Home is situated in a neighborhood setting on a steep wooded hill. Fully stocked kitchen, clean home. Bathrooms are simple and functional. Grocery right near by. We were close to campus but also drove each day to hike, river raft, and explore. Property owner accessible and home easy to find. Experienced our first earthquake while here! Will never forget that!!
