Great location, basic but spacious accommodation
Great location for skiing at Snow Bird and Alta. Functional, lots of space for large families. Accommodation could do with a lot of minor fixes and a few more supplies, as largely noted in recent reviews.

Good Location - Disappointing in so Many Other Ways
Unfortunately we are not unable to offer a positive review. First and foremost, the other negative reviews of the basement apartment are accurate. There is no thermostat to control the heat, a circumstance that I have never encountered when renting VRBO rentals for the past 15 years. Be prepared to take plenty of photos of the damaged walls (holes, scratches, dents…) when you arrive so as to document the apartment’s poor condition. The couch’s springs are broken, there is a cracked window, the smoke odor is prevalent when you enter the apartment, many of the pots and pans were rusted, and the heating vent in the bathroom was covered with duct tape (thus making the bathroom cold). When we came back at the end of our second full day we were met with a construction crew jack-hammering on the house to remove a stone facing and painters using electric sanders to prepare to paint the outside of house. It was so loud we left the house for the rest of the afternoon. The workers were at the house for 3 days during our stay. The construction was aesthetic and not required. On the fourth day we came back to find the water had been turned off to the entire house. The town utility worker who finally came to turn the water back on told us the water had been initially shut off due to non-payment of the water bill. While the owner denied the claim of non-payment, it did not make for a convenient or comfortable situation, especially while on vacation.

Nice Location / Very Disappointing Property
The property is convenient to several resorts. Unfortunately the property’s description is misleading & inaccurate. There is no means of controlling the unit’s temperature other than messaging the Property Manager (PM) through the VRBO app. The PM would then adjust the temp. This means of controlling the temp was unacceptable. Two space heaters and the kitchen oven were the only timely means we had to control temperature. The property’s description indicates there is a wood stove & ice maker. Upon arriving to a very cold unit, the PM recommended we NOT use the wood stove as smoke backs up into the space. Based on smoke odor in the unit and the PM’s warning, we did not use the wood stove. This contributed to a cold space. The refrigerator which was very loud has an ice maker but the PM stated that the ice maker was NOT connected to water. We purchased ice until the PM delivered one bag on the third day. The furniture in the Living Room was well beyond its useful life. The couch suspension has failed. We used blankets and comforters from unused beds to support the seat cushions. Hot water is problematic. Often when showering, the hot water would diminish resulting in a cold water making the shower experience not very relaxing. The light fixture in the bathroom only had 1 bulb of 4 working. It took 3 days to repair. Another major frustration, the PM would not call us even after 4 written requests through the VRBO app. We will NOT recommend this property to others.

Significant discrepancies between the listing description and our experience
While the photos on VRBO present a positive light, the apartment suffers from noticeable wear and tear. There was a persistent smoke odor upon entering, chipped paint throughout, and significantly stained carpeting and walls in the landing. Safety concerns arose due to a lack of mats outside the entrance where ice had accumulated from a broken gutter. The couch was significantly damaged and unusable (the seats were shot), lacking instructions on operating the heating stove (wood? venting?), and posing a potential hazard with exposed wires beneath the TV (imagine if kids were running around). The office chair by the desk has a seat with peeled vinyl that was disgusting. In the bathroom, essential items like tissues were absent, along with a shower caddy that appears in the picture. The toilet paper holder was broken and its pieces sitting on the windowsill. A hole in the wall did not contribute to the vacation vibe. The paint behind that door in the bathroom is so worn and dirty that it feels like a public area. The kitchen lacked paper towels instead of the industrial roll of paper. In the master bedroom, there is no space in the room to place things. A dresser or table would be helpful to guests. The small heater in the queen size bedroom was noisy and useless for that size room. Amenities advertised in the listing were absent, including a welcome basket and toiletries. This all fell short of the value expected based on the description and price paid.
